When I first played teemo I played him hybrid with a lot of attack speed and I enjoyed it but got tired of it fast. Some months later I tried AP teemo mid and I fell in love ;) I had the felling that a Teemo with lots of AP countered all, off course i didnt but it went very well. After that game I played AP teemo very often, and mostly it was a succes. :D
Go for this build if you are tired of playing normal teemo, and maybe want some more nuke, cause if you play smart you will nuke them ;)
This is the first guide I make, and I would appreciate that instead of commenting "This guide sucks", dont comment at all or tell what makes it so bad. I tried making the best guide I could by gathering all the knowledge I got from playing LoL in about two years, and im satisfied with the result, leave a comment if agree og disagree :D
Pros / Cons
+ Bigger nuke than playing Hybrid
+ A pretty good mid champ (my opinion)
+ After lvl. 6 free "wards"
+ Noxious Trap give good all over dmg
+ Counter all ADC cause blinding dart
+ Move Quick is good for getting kills, or escape
+ camouflage pretty good passive, if used right
- Squishy, but not more than many other.
- Hard to take down tanks
- Not as good against APC as ADC, cause your blinding only stops auto attacks
- Weak against CC
- You have to place yourself carefully in teamfights, or you die.
More about my item choice
I don't say that this is the perfect build, but it worked pretty good for me. Ive made this as a guideline for you to have something to work from.
I choose Rabadon's Deathcap because that it gives the larges amount of AP (except Mejai's Soulstealer, i get back to that later) and you need it for most APC.
The Rylai's Crystal Scepter is for more survivability, it gives 500 hp and when you get it you will survive longer (its not MR or Armor, so you still die fast, but i helps a lot). I also pick it for the slow, cause even if it is only your Blinding Dart that will gain the slow, it still helps you catch your opponent ;)
Nashor's Tooth, yes I called my build Full AP, but this is the only exception. It gives a fair amount of AP and AS, 20% cooldown reduction and some mana regen.
Lets face it, now that most of the dmg from teemo still is the basic attacks ( Noxious Trap can deal more, but you have to lure your enemies to step on them) it is essentiel to get some AS, just a bit. More AP gives more dmg, no more to say. The cooldown is very good with Noxious Trap and Blinding Dart, it gives more mushrooms and more blind. Mana regen are always good, if your champion uses mana.
The interresting about Liandry's Torment is the passive, it deals DOT after a spell and double the DOT if the spell slows the target. at first this sounds good, since teemos mushrooms slow and will deal double DOT, right? But it also deal half dmg if it is a multitarget spell. So after the double up and then half, we are at the starting point. The passive dont work with Toxic Shot. But if you follow this build and buy the Rylai's Crystal Scepter, you can have the double dmg effect from your Blinding Dart, that slows when you have Rylai's.
Void Staff is good against MR and gives a fair amount of AP
Zhonya's Hourglass gives 100 AP which is not bad at all, 50 armor good against heavy AD team. I would not buy this item for the passive when playing teemo, because he would not have very good use of it like fx. Morgana, Fiddlesticks, Katarina and so on.
If you die much get the Guardian Angel, it gives both MR and Armor and the passive will revive you once every five minutes. If you die more than the Guardian Angel, you will have to play more defensive or smart, because it should could save most times.
You take a chance when getting the Mejai's Soulstealer, because most players would focus people weith stacking items like this, they simply dont want it t oget stacked. If yo uhave a crazy good game and get this full stacked, you will facerole the enemy team just care for losing stacks.
How to play AP teemo
Start with boots of speed and three health potions, what you win from in early game is your movement speed. After lvl. 3 where you opgraded all you abillities once, you can start poking for real. Wait for the enemy champion to use his/hers abillities, and then use you w and go for blinding darts and all the auto attacks you posibble can before they reach tower, at this point they should be about half health or under, depending on how far from tower you were. If they do not run when doing this, just shoot blinding dart and a auto attacks and get out of ranged.
