Unique Features Of Udyr

Udyr is the only champion Without a Ultimate, But is a all around good Dps tanky champion.

There are some Pros and Cons about Udyr though:

Very Tanky, Major Damage Output, Speed Boost for Distance Closer, Sheild, Aoe attacks, Dot attacks, and a Stun.

Cons: No harrass at all, You have to be Extremely Close to do any damage to a champion, No range attacks, No ultimate, His stun is only 1 second long.

Monkeys Agility

This is Udyr's Passive, Whice grants 10% attack speed and 3% dodge per stack, and can stack up to 3 times, So thats 30% attack speed plus 40% attack speed passive from tiger stance and when activated goes to 75% percent, plus 30% which equals 105%$ attack speed. This also grants 9 dodge plus 6.8 equals 15.8 Dodge chance.

Tiger Stance

Persistent Effect: Udyr's attack speed is increased by 20/25/30/35/40%.

Activation: Udyr gains an additional 15/20/25/30/35% attack speed for 5 seconds after activating Tiger stance. While active or for 5 second after Activation, Udyr's next attack deals 170% his attack damage plus 30/80/130/180/230 over 2 seconds as magic damage.

55/50/45/40/35 Mana

This is Udyr's Q, Tiger Stance is where Udyr does most of his damage output, It deals high amounts of damage and also deals damage over time. This is the best way to focus damage, and jungle in my opinion and best for ganking.

Turtle Stance:

Persistent Effect: Udyr's attacks cannot crit, but he restores 10/12/14/16/18% of his damage as health and 5/6/7/8/9% of his damage as mana.

Activation: Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs 60/100/140/180/220 (+0.5 AP) damage.

55/50/45/40/35 Mana

This is Udyr's W, Turtle Stance is a great way to recover health and mana when Jungling, and its sheild is a good way to avoid damage from either a turrent if you pushed too much, it is also good against certain champions ults such as vlads or karthus, another good thing about the sheild that it is affected by your resistance and will block more damage.

Bear Stance:

Persistent Effect: Udyr mauls his target with such force that they are stunned for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds.

Activation: Udyr gains 15/18/21/24/27% increased movement speed for 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds.

55/50/45/40/35 Mana

This is Udyr's E ability, It is a must to get up second after maxing your first ability either Phoenix Stance or Tiger Stance for damage output, This ability allows him to close the distance between him and his opponent as well as stun the opponent to be able to switch stances and cause major damage.

Phoenix Stance:

Persistent Effect: Every fourth attack, Udyr engulfs enemies in front of him in flame, dealing 50/90/130/170/210(+0.25 AP) magic damage.In addition, Udyr's ability power is increased by 16/24/32/40/48 and his attack damage is increased by half of that amount.

Activation: Udyr sends out pulsing waves of fire dealing 15/25/35/45/55 (+0.25 AP) magic damage each second to nearby enemies for 5 seconds.

55/50/45/40/35 Mana

This is Udyr's R which should be his ult but he doesn't have one, This is Udyr's only ability with a AoE effect which is great for Clearing Jungles and Minion Waves but in my opinion isn't that much damage output compared to Tiger Stance on Single Targets.

Summoner Spells

In my Opinion are the best two Summoner Spells, For Jungling, Flash to close the distance and get out of tight situations, and you need Smite For Jungling, Ghost is pretty good as well but you already have a speed boost from your Bear Stance. I used to use Fortify while Jungling for Two Reasons easy kill if someone dives a turrent and Fortify's passive deals 9 bonus damage which allowed quicker jungles, before they Riot removed Fortify.

In my opinion Tiger stance is all around the best form for Focusing on a Single target, Phoenix stance is a favorite of a few for the Aoe and also the extra damage, but Not so good for Single Targets, due to Not Enough damage output in a short amount of time, which is what Tiger stance provides.

Tiger Stance:

So if you go by my build Go 9 Armour Penatration Red Marks, 9 Dodge Yellow Seals (Although the new masteries disposed of dodge and Nimbleness, Udyrs Passive Monkey's Agility Grants 3 percent dodge Per stack, That Grants 15.8 percent Dodge if you have all three stacks with Monkey's Agility. For Glyphs I usually run 9 Magic Resistance Per Level Blues, just for extra durability for late game, and Quints I either run 3 Flat Health 26*3= 78 , Or 3 Dodge Quints for 4.5 Dodge, Which will equal 20.3 Dodge with 3 stacks of Monkey's Agility. Also if you buy Ninja Tabis, thats Plus 12 dodge which will Equal 32.3 Percent dodge in total.

Phoenix Stance:

You will want to Max Phoenix Stance first instead of Tiger, Phoenix Stance is very quick on clearing Jungles but Not so much for Ganking a opponent or Taking down Dragon. But if you choose that you like this stance the best: Go for 9 Attack Speed Red Marks 1.7*9= 15.3%, Then 9 Dodge Yellow Seals, Then Either Magic Resistance Per Level blue Glyphs, Flat Magic Resistance Glyphs for counter jungles, or Flat Attack Speed Blue Glyphs .64*9= 5.7%, Quints Either Go Attack Speed 3.4*3 = 10.2, 10.2+15.3= 25.5% Or Go Dodge Quints. Attack Speed for his Persistant effect in this stance to activate on every 3 attacks.

I take mainly Defence and Offence Masteries, due to Udyr being more of a Tanky DPS Champion. 9 Points on offence for extra Attack Speed, Armour Penetration, and Extra Damage to minions, I take 20 Points on Defence. I take Hardiness for extra defence against minions and Summoner's Resolve for the 10 gold while using smite, I take Tough Skin to get to Bladed Armour which is a mini thornmail against minions which helps you jungle more quickly. No Points on Resistance due to you already have it because of your Blue Magic Resistance Per Level Glphys, Durability and Veteran Scars for More Health, Indomitable instead of Honor Guard due to some Monsters in the Jungle will be hitting 6's and 4's and whats 1.5% percent of that barely nothing. So I would rather have flat 2 damage reduce. Max Initiator so when you do leave the Jungle in your Bear Stance trying to gank, you have that extra Movement Speed to Catch up and Stun them Or either use Flash to get to them. I also put 3 points on Mercenary because of ganking and either getting assists or kills, that extra gold will help you in the long run. I take a Point on Utility Summoner's Insight, to have the Cooldown Reduction on Flash to Help Gank.

Good For Focus Targeting, Great Damage Output. Great for Taking Down Dragon, Or Early Ganks.

There are Other Ways to play Udyr, but his purpose was the Jungle hands down, He can lane, but it's not as good as when he Jungles, and Turtle Stance can be used Jungle with as well, although it's not good at Ganking because of No damage output.

There are some that like to Start At Wolves Which Spawn at 1:40 then Move to Blue Golem at 1:55, Which gives you a major advantage, you just can't be too reckless while doing this, and DO NOT use your Smite on Wolves, and if needed get a leash for Blue. Then move from there to Golems, Then to Red Buff, Then to Wraiths you will be level 4 and ready to gank by then.

If the other team does not have a jungler you are welcome to steal their blue or red, they are not gonna use it, just be aware of possible wards when you are in the enemy's jungle.

Counter Jungling

Heres a Image of the Jungle, Showing all the monsters, and The Circles are good Places to Place Wards if you are going against another Jungler to Counter Jungle.

The best three counter junglers at the moment are Nunu, Lee Sin, and also Shaco. If you see any of these champs jungling be wary of a possible counter jungle. So if you would like to counter them here are good places to place wards to see where theyre jungler is at all time.

Team Fights

Try to focus most On the squishy champs such as Ashe, Caitlyn, Corki, Twitch,Ezreal. Go Bear Stance for Stun then into Tiger Stance to finish off. Also use your Bear Stance for your advantage to STOP FiddleSticks Drain, Nunu Ult, Katarina's Ult, Malzahar's Ult, Warwick's Ult, and also Shen when he ults on a champion.

Udyr is a Major Ganker so use that for a advantage any part throughout the game, Especially when a team fight does happen go for the Squishy Dps Champs.

Beware of these 4 champs in my opinion are the worst for Udyr to go against Jax due to his dodge, and Udyr mainly usues autto attacks. Rammus for his thornmail ability which will retaliate all the damage back to you. Finally Karthus due to his passive which he still has the ability to kill you even after death. Lee sin who is a amazing Counter jungler At the moment.
