Well, it took almost a full month to finish (and it's not done yet), but it feels good to put out a product here. Please, comment with your thoughts and I'll get to them as soon as I can!

GLHF all.

Everything looks good only comment I have to make is that buying a Rod of Ages as a finishing item is a bad idea. I say this because it takes 10 minutes to completely build itself up. If anything it should be bought early-mid game not late. Hope I helped, and have a great day!

Alright this is like the 23rd time I've forgotten about commenting through the voting system, feedback above.

haha I literally just published the guide and someone beat me to my own first comment!

Thanks for the thumbs up, utopus! The Standard Mastery setup (9-0-21) should be used almost always, but against opponents like LeBlanc who counters Ryze so hard, you need to adjust your strategic play to accommodate your tactical play. Since you'll need to play more defensively, take the 9-9-12 setup to reduce the incoming damage.

Pluckin, please read the items section where I discuss the scenario why you would get the Rod of Ages as an optional 6th item.

Even before building stacks, it is the single item which yields the GREATEST MP, which translates into damage for Ryze. It also provides AP and HP for a bump in usefulness of Spell Flux and survivability.

EDIT:
That said, I appreciate the feedback (and that fact that someone is at least looking at this haha) and the +1.

Beautiful guide, this deserves to be #1 or 2 at LEAST.

Only criticism is to finish, trolls don't take that stuff lightly ^^

Very nice guide, well organized, good info, good coding. I look forward to the incomplete sections later as well. Only thing I'm confused about is your item priority. You seem to get a lot of pieces of bigger items, but don't finish them right away. It seems that you could tighten things up some for efficiency. Otherwise, Excellent guide overall.

If I'm reviewing your guide, it'd be nice to return the favor.
Many thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the great sig

Primarily, the item order is listed as such for order of importance to Ryze's damage output and survivability. Stacking Sapphire Crystals is the equivalent of stacking Doran's Rings for traditional AP carries, with the upside that they upgrade into better things!

There are times when you'll want to rush up to Banshee's Veil before you build your Glacial Shroud (and times you build Frozen Heart before Catalyst Stone), and sometimes you just tweak the order by flipping two items.

For the most part, though, this is the most efficient way to build Ryze. Your runes provide some early sustainability so you can build damage output mana items. When your damage is up, you want to survive encounters by building the appropriate resistances and CDR when you can.

You hit it right on the head though, a few incomplete sections (namely, the Matchups section) are causing a lot of this confusion. I fully intend to fill that out with a tier system of lane opponents (Easy, Medium, Tough, and maybe Just Ban Them) and include a quick item priority order for each tier of opponent.

Thanks for commenting, Fulundry! I always appreciate the feedback!
