Udyr is the direct descendant of the mountainman Jim Bridger, that means he's a little bit of Injun in him. And his battle plan will be that of an Apache resistance. He will be cruel to the enemy player, and trough his cruelty they will know who he his, and they will find the evidence of his cruelty trough the disembowel, dismembered and disfigured body of their brothers he leave behind him. And the enemy player wont be able to help themselve at imagining the cruelty their brother endured at Udyr's hand, and at his bear stance, and phoenix stance. And when the enemy player closes their eyes at night, and that they are tortured by the bad games they had, it will be by thoughts of udyr that they're Tortured with.


Hi, this the third build i'm going to post so please, feel free to add comments or constructive criticism in case you feel i missed something. Also, my first language is french, so i might make some spelling errors.

I decided to post my Udyr build cause there's wasnt much of a detailled guide online.

Pros and con


Not mana dependant in mid/late game (he is early game though)
Doesnt need tons of dps items to be really strong.
Extremely strong at game start (trough turtle/bear, I,ve killed a Warwick coming to steal my lisard buff at lvl 4, stuns, turtle, stun, turtle, dodge, dodge)
He's always going to run with 2% life left and make people rage
His turtle stance is a good Karthus counter.
Extremely good team player (I have over 75% win ratio with Udyr)
Good Jungler
Extremely resilient even if he's not a ''tank''
Make bad teams look good


There isnt a good build online that i feel comfortable with (He's not played often cause i feel he's too hard to master, people dont feel that he can carry a team on his own)
Require some Brain(really hard to master character)
There isnt much bad thing to say about Udyr, I just love him(And my custom Jiraiya ''Ero Sennin'' skin)
NOt as good a jungler as Warwick (Udyr cant solo Golem at game start).


Monkey's Agility - Entering a stance grants Udyr 10% attack speed and 3% dodge for 5 seconds. This effect can stack.

Erp de derp, Rob shneider is... A STAPLER. This thing can stack 3 time. Mean a free 9% dodge right at start and a 30% bonus attack speed. GOod for killing people, surviving, destroying tower. ALWAYS KEEP IT ACTIVE FOR GOD SAKE.

Tiger Stance - Tiger Stance: Activation - Udyr's next attack will deal a high amount of damage over 2 seconds (based on his attack damage). Persistent Effect - Udyr's attack speed is passively increased. In addition, Udyr splits his attacks into 3 lightning fast hits.
Persistent Effect: Udyr's attack speed is increased by 30/40/50/60/70%. In addition, Udyr splits his attacks into 3 lightning fast hits. On hit effects only trigger off the first hit.

Activation: On his next attack, Udyr swipes at his target, dealing 1.8/2.1/2.4/2.7/3 times his attack damage over 2 seconds as magic damage.

75/65/55/45/35 Mana

I really, reallly, despise that skill. Some boost that with a trinity force to augment the activation bonus. I DONT. If you do that, you wont be able to initiate your stance dancing with bear stance and that itself is just plain stupid. And UDyr doesnt need to use that stance to smack people.

Turtle Stance - Turtle Stance: Activation - Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs damage. Persistent Effect - Udyr's attacks cannot crit, but he restores his health and mana equivalent to a percentage of his damage dealt.
Persistent Effect: Udyr's attacks cannot crit, but he restores 12/14/16/18/20% of his damage as health and 9/10.5/12/13.5/15% of his damage as mana.

Activation: Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs 60/100/140/180/220 (+0.5) damage.

75/65/55/45/35 Mana

This is udyr ''OMFG'' I HATE UDYR SOOOOO MUCH. With that you will soak more damage than shen, you will survive turret diving early on, you will litterally ''piss'' in people face, thrust me, dont under-estimate that skill

Bear Stance - Bear Stance: Activation - Udyr gains a large movement speed increase for a short duration. Persistent Effect - Udyr's attacks stun his target for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for several seconds.
Persistent Effect: Udyr mauls his target with such force that they are stunned for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds.

Activation: Udyr gains 15/18/21/24/27% increased movement speed for 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds.

75/65/55/45/35 Mana

What is that brown blurry thing running at me?

Udyr is the fasted character in game, period. Take advantage of it. Make people **** their pants at sight of you. YOu know when you count the enemy numbers of stuns at the beginning of a game, well Udyr has an infinite stun. He can stun an entire team, one player after another, if he wants to. That makes him UBER dangerous. BUt as i was saying, there isnt much good Udyr out there, so people never expect him to be of any good.

Phoenix Stance - Phoenix Stance: Activation - Udyr sends out pulsing waves of fire dealing damage to nearby foes for 5 seconds and has increased ability power and damage. Persistent Effect - Every fourth attack, Udyr engulfs enemies in front of him in flame.
Persistent Effect: Every fourth attack, Udyr engulfs enemies in front of him in flame, dealing 40/80/120(+0.25) magic damage.

Activation: Udyr sends out pulsing waves of fire dealing 15/25/35 (+0.25) magic damage each second to nearby enemies for 5 seconds. In addition, Udyr's ability power is increased by 16/24/32 and his attack damage is increased by half of that amount.

75/65/55 Mana

Its like having a better version of a sunfire cape for free. Always keep it on, it will rape all game long even if you dont get AP to boost its damage.

Summoner Spells


Humm Clarity. I'm a noob right? NOT. Stance dancing is extremely hard on your mana pool early game. And when you cant finish a target cause you ran out(Its possible, even with golem), you will feel like ''I dont ever want to play Udyr again''

Its going to become kinda useless during late-game, but dont worry about it, i sometimes use it to prevent my caster/carry to go back to base to continue pushing.


You're a jungler, you take smite, period. THere is nothing else to say.

The jungling, the route, the skill, the awesomeness of Udyr

Why do i jungle? Dewo asked me that on his Warwick Jungle King build. Its simple, even if Udyr can lane forever and is an awesome farmer with Pheonix, people knows whats coming when they see him change stance. As soon as you use bear stance, they will run. As soon as you charge, they will run, nobody his THAT stupid; Nobody, nobody, nobody, NOBODY likes to be stunned.

So, i jungle to give a partner a double XP Lane, and on start, its a lot.

BUT, dont trust a stranger with a dual lane. I always play Udyr with my best buddy so he can watch the double lane... (He loves Nunu) Mordekaiser is also a good dual laner(the number of double kill i've got with him on dual lane when somebody uses Warwick is actually insane)

Make sure your Dual lane hang out on the side where Dragon is. Why? Cause thats the lane you will be ganking first, and ganking a dual lane is easy, your teammates is over-leveled, and you are awesome and he's probably hugging his turret, giving you room to hide in the bushes.

The order of killing;
2 golems,
big golems,
2 golems,
gank, etc.

Stance usage for the jungling part:

Use turtle twice on the two small golem. Smite the first when he appear, turtle, wait for it... keep waiting, use turtle again.

You can use phoenix once and turtle once on the Wolf Camp.

On Golem, you spam turtle/phoenix as much as possible (If you took clarity, like i do)

On Wraith, phoenix turtle or turtle phoenix, doesnt matter.

On lizard, spam both

If you still have golem active for Dragon, spam both, if not, turtle, let mana regen, phoenix, rinse and repeat.

Potion usage
Take a potions after wolf and during golem. (2)

Take a potion during lizard to be sure.(3)

Recall when you have enough for madred razor and a cheap pair of boots. If after killing everything you dont have enough, you can always recall or go and farm it elsewhere.

As soon as you get madred, you can go for dragon. As soon as you killed dragon, you gank, you kill, you destroyyyyy.

Lvl bear stance on the level you get by killing dragon. Consider bear stance your ultimate, spammable ultimate.

Your first gank

WHoever is in the lane, dont stun both, the best way to loose a kill is to try to get two instead of one, dont be greedy.

Stun the closest or the one who's going to die the fastest, the faster you kill him, the faster you can beat the other to death with a baseball bat.

Yes you can dive turret with Udyr at lvl 5/6 if you are really really smart. Bear(1st turret hits you) smack the target, Pheonix(2th turret hit), (turtle)YOu escape alive.

Your combo at this point is Bear stun, pheonix, turtle, bear, pheonix, turtle.

Just be reasonnable.




Madred's Bloodrazor: +30 Attack Damage +40% Attack Speed +25 Armor UNIQUE Passive: On hit, deals Magic Damage equal to 4% of the target's maximum Health.

Center of Udyr's DPS. Your passive gives you attack speed, this does too. Use it, keep your passive up and that baby will tear anyone a new ***h*le

Ninja Tabi :+25 Armor +12% Dodge Chance UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 2

I only take Ninja tabi for the dodge that stacks with Udyr passive.

Phantom Dancer :+45% Attack Speed +30% Critical Strike +20% Dodge Chance +15% Movement Speed

This baby here has everything Udyr need, MOovement speed(stacks with bear activation buff), dodge(stacks with passive AND tabi), attack speed(For madred AND phoenix).

Crit? Crit that doesnt work on turtle. Yeah i know, you spend 66% of your time in bear/phoenix, the crit is still welcome.

Banshee's Veil :+450 Health +400 Mana +57 Magic Resist UNIQUE Passive: Blocks one negative spell every 30 seconds.

I take banshee with Udyr for everything. Health, mana(meh, not so useful but i'l take it), but the awesome magic resist and passive that will remove the first stun that prevent your bear stance to catch up to someone.

Sunfire Cape :+450 Health +45 Armor Passive: Deals 40 Magic Damage a second to nearby enemies.

Awesome health, armor and passive... that stacks REALLY well with Udyr super duper awesome Phoenix stance

Stark's Fervor: +20% Attack Speed UNIQUE Aura: Gives nearby allied Champions 20% Lifesteal, 20% Attack Speed, and 30 Health per 5 seconds regenerated. Reduces the Armor of nearby enemy champions by 20.

Armor Pen, Life steal, ATTACK SPEED, buff every1. Dude, that item is sooo good. I dont have anything else to say about it.

On really really really long game, i just sell ninja tabi for a second Phantom dancer. You will have enough moovement speed to cover the loss of your boots.


Innervating locket, trinity force, aegis, leviathan, warmog, atma... guardian angel, thornmail(F*** Thornmail).


Go for Madred razor-cheap boots-Vampiric Scepter-tabis-bloodrazor-phantom-banshee-sunfire-stark-phantom.


I go health quint, Dodge runes, armor pen Marks and magic resist runes.


Go for mana regen and buff duration in Utility and the rest in Offense for increased crit, attack rate and yes, spell penetration (For Pheonix AND sunfire)

Good teammates


YOu are every teamate dream come true. YOU are what makes the team good.

I'l take mordekaiser or Nunu for the dual lane(They are insanely good at laning for long period of time and are good at self-preservation)


Early game:

Described in jungle guide, check it up.

Only thing i have to say is, never stop farming. Farm with Pheonix, you wont believe the rate at wich you make money.

Buy wards and ward the enemy territory while you roam the map killing nazis


Late game starts when you have your banshee veil.

General Late Game guidelines:

1. ***est the enemy brainpower

2. ***est the enemy composition

3. ***est YOUR team brainpower

4. ***est your own awesomeness!

5. Focus the other team primary carry, your team should know well enough that every target you stun needs to die.

6. Run when you fear for your life, go in jungle, heal with turtle, go back to fight.

7. TUrtle-bear-turtle-bear will allow you to out-run anyone.

8. ALWAYS STANCE DANCE FOR GOD SAKE, you need your passive always up and running, bear, phoenix, turlte, etc. Keep it up

9. Always, always keep the enemy creeps on the enemy's side of the river, Udyr is an awesome lane pusher. Use that sunfire/phoenix to pushes lanes at the speed of light!

I rarely play Udyr without my best bud watching my back cause i hate to leave a dual lane to stranger.
