btw yur new chapter about smite: it still speeds up your super slow jungle, yes sion is slow. And the higher your elo gets, the more important is smite, since you are speaking about ranked i think you also mean high elo, and in high elo, it isn't unusual to use a well timed cv+ flash over back wall and smite steal.

You don't seem to worried about that counter jungle :X

Him stealing your big wraith and red is quite huge. He now has a level/gold advantage over you and can easily keep stealing all your buffs.

You can't just go in and then do the same thing to him :X as he'd beat you 1 vs 1(he haz teh red buff omgz and level advantage), and you can't smite his stuff because... you don't have smite.

In any case, It's not a bad guide or a absolute **** guide. It's good. But you do need to admit that he has a severe weakness vs counter jungling.

All junglers have weakness, I just think he'd have less of them if you rolled with smite instead of trying to be different :X

But hey, if you choose to keep with exhaust, go for it. It's not that BAD of a trade off, especially if you know the guy won't dare come in your jungle.
So, yeah have fun dude

(ever think about exhaust/smite?)

I agree being counter jungled in a possibility. But with my playstyle I pretty much gank back to back and worry little about the jungle. I really only need jungle to reach lvl 3. I've never worried too much about counter jungle, but if you are then take Q at lvl 2 instead of E. It will ensure that u can gank adequately after blue. What I am trying to say is... yes I may get counter-jungled but my emphasis is on being roaming ganker. I'll get my money one way or the other.

-1 because:
AD Sion is bad
Jungle Sion is worse
Jungling without smite can't be put into words
etc.

I honestly doubt you even read my explanation. If you did, please give me a more legitimate explanation so I can better my strategy.

Met an AD jungle sion without smite yesterday.

Quickly borrowed his keyboard to talk to him and he basically quoted you on why smite is bad.

Idk if he saw this guide or not, but please -.-

Smite:
1. Helps jungle clear time = more farm.
2. Best counter jungling tool. And counter counter jungling.
3. BECOMES MORE important as time goes on. For securing dragon/baron.
4. Smiting baron wins games.

Alternative...

Your jungle sion can take flash/exhaust.
But then someone else on your team needs to take smite.

Edit: Read more.
It seems to be a well thought out guide.
Only other thing I'd say is that if you are getting a hard leash @ blue buff and NOT doing wolves before blue, is that you are wasting time.
A good counter jungler like nunu would be done with his blue/wolves and eating your big wraith before you get to your wraiths.
And he'd probably have warded the top jungle and hiding in the bush @ your red buff. And then he'd smite steal red and then easily get away because of his movement speed boost and slow.

Make sure if you start @ blue that you start attacking wolves when they spawn and get your teammates to do a lot of damage on the wolves for you and then you just last hit each wolf. Then everyone walks over to blue, it spawns, they give you hard leash.
Those who do wolves before blue gain an advantage over those who don't.

Thank you Tharcide for your input. It is very much appreciated. I haven't had much trouble with counter jungle because I have near 100% hp at all times and I'm not that dependent on buffs. If Nunu takes red like you suggested i'd go straight for his red or gank a little earlier. Sion doesn't have to have red buff to gank. But you raised a good point about starting on wolves. I'll test further and post my results. Thank you for your post

P.S. I added a section about smite to address your concern about late game.

smite is not only for your slightly faster jungle, but you will be pissed like hell if some kind of lee sin charges into drake and smite-steals it, just because you dont have smite.

due to the fact that this is a ranked guide, you may expect your enemy to have enough brain for this. dieing for a drake/baron is k and your early buffs 75% WILL be stolen if you have good enemies.

jungler needs smite.
