Well, it doesn't really matter who I'm laning with, but I find myself needing (shield and heal) the most, because that's what I need to support teammates...
I'm trying to not push too hard, but if I encounter a hard pusher me and my lanemate are probably going to get harassed a lot, so I basically need to spam my heal atleast.
I see why you brought Heal (as spell) here, but I find its CD way too high...

I tried your build exactly as you say, just changing some runes and I didn't do very well (due to fails in early xD), but when I used Clarity it was a LOT better. :)
I stayed in lane with just a Doran's until lvl 13. :D

No problem at all :) I'm glad clarity is helping. Definitely skip doran's and rush straight for sapphire crystal if you're still having mana problems. If you still find yourself running out of mana, remember that you can use your auto-attack to harass. At the lower levels before first recall, it doesn't do impressive damage but it does some and can be very annoying, which sometimes helps to get enemies to back off and stop harassing your carry which gives him the chance to last hit unimpaired.

Also, don't forget Inner Flame and the way the affected champion's HP affects the power of the heal. If you are at 3/4 health and so is your ally, don't waste mana in the early game healing him back to full. Your heal is much more powerful if his health (or especially your own health) is lower when the heal is used. Remember to sit on that second Mantra. In the early game you're hopefully not using a heal more than once every 25 seconds.

And watch how much the lane gets pushed. Your carry can't get kills and will take more aggro up against the enemy's turret, plus your jungler can't gank effectively.

Well I do tend to heal too early (apparently). :P
But since I don't talk to those that I play with on Skype or something like that they like to see that I'm "there" and ready to heal/shield when/if they decide to engage and Clarity helped me tons here.
Latest score 8/2/24 the Xin I was laning with absolutely raped Corki and Rammus with my help. :D

I also figured out that auto-attacks aren't that bad, yea... xD
Maybe I'll try to learn to conserve mana early some more so I can skip Clarity, since it really is kinda useless later on in the game.

Wow. Very well written and a lot of reading to do. Must have taken you quite a while to write all of it. I really enjoyed it. Im still learning a lot with her but my first three games with Karma last night I went 3/2/19, 5/1/9, 2/0/19. Keep up the good work mate. I am having some trouble with using Spirit Bond. I find it a little more difficult to use but im sure it will get easier with more practice.
