Pantheon fills two rolls:
Disruptor : Pantheon is great at stopping enemies from capping. His ult goes off before they get the cap to half so you still have the tower to help you damage your foes. Your ultimate is also great for taking towers where the enemies are not.

Slayer : Pantheon is an amazing champion for slaying other champions. If the other team has some squishies, ad carries, or tanky dps suck as renekton you will wreck them. His burst is insane and he is a lot of fun to play. You will come-in in the top 3 almost every game if played well, and number 1 quite often.

Armor penetration is extremely important on pantheon for the scaling with heart seeker strike. Some guides for normal play say to get a last whisper to supplement the armor pen runes; but I findyomumuu's ghostblade is sufficient. It also gives bonus attack speed and movement speed for more damage, passive building, and chasing. Since there are not a lot of tanks and avoiding fights with then is fairly easy the flat armor pen in addition to the armor pen from your marks and quints will destroy enemy AD carries and caster armor.

The dodge runes are great(very expensive though) but can also be swapped out for armor runes or Flat AD runes. Personally I like the dodge runes since then occasionally give you 10% run speed from minions(Nimbleness in defense). That is seriously clutch when you are running to cap a lane.

If you find your self running out of mana I suggest taking the two seal flat mana regen runes I listed. You really shouldn't need more than that.

For the glyoh runes I suggest flap magic resist. Flat CDR is also an excellent choice but i find I survive a-lot more encounters with the magic resist runes with out the need for more damage(trust me you do plenty).


Quints = ARP SPEAR PIERCE THROUGH STRAIT TO THEIR SOUL!!!

For classic I put 9 points into support for the mana regen. In dominion you wont have to do that due to the passive mana regen all champions get. That way you can put the points into defense and become alot more tanky.

Early game with this build your damage is enough to kill some one almost strait out with your combat rotation Q -> W -> E -> Q. After getting some gold or dieing pick up boots. THE CDR boots are great for ability spam. Usually you won't need mercury treads because if your not in CC they are dying really fast. After that go tankythen lifesteal then more damage(makes your E do ALOT)

With the crazy gold gain speed and the fact you start and lvl 3 and how fast the fights are your don't have time to harass with your Q(spear shot). So maxing your Efirst is crucial. The only reason why this works is because your first item is DAMAGE + ARMOR PEN(and CDR which is nice for move spamming). In Classic you can't do this, because often you have no damage item until 5-8 min in; so you need the harass of your Qto wear them down to get kills in Dominion that is not the case. Your W needs one point in it so you can catch ppl and cc them for a second(THAT IS ALL YOUR NEED).

A lot of people have said that ghost is better in Dominion. Which in most cases is probably correct. Although not for Pantheon. Pantheons' ult takes time and enemies can run out of the ring. If they do, a flash+ your Wwill close the gap (if they are really fast pop Youmuu's Ghostblade). If they don't, get ready for one of the fastest kills you have ever seen. When you land on the it will put them 6 feet under :)

Also flash in the hands of a good player means escaping certain death almost every time.
Some people take exhaust. There is no need!! Pantheon is designed to destroy ad carry's. If you need exhaust your doing something wrong. With proper usage of ignite you won't need exhaust they will die before there second attack can damage you after the first breaks your passive(do not forget your W stuns the for a second).

Right now if you use you ultimate so that the center is somewhere on the tower base, the circle that appears is only visible 1/10 of a second. This makes landing on people for the maximum damage infinitely easier.

Also it quite important to note that pantheon, although melee, doesn't get shut down by blinds.
Teemo blinds you to save himself? No problem just spam your E and Q. They do damage even while blinded. Just watch him melt
