Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Jarvan IV
  • LoL Champion: Olaf
  • LoL Champion: Jax

Introduction

I'm not going to go to town on making this guide super colorful because I think generic text is more relaxing to read. I'm writing this guide because I feel like it. I'm bored. I've played LoL since it was in beta and I've played in ranked solo queue brackets as high as 1700. So obviously, I'm a very experienced player. For those of you that are stuck in Elo Hell, cry me a river. If you can't carry, then you can't carry. I used to play Tryndamere all the time, but I stopped playing him altogether because of the nerfs. My most played champions as of now are Jarvan, Jax, and Olaf. I don't like playing roles that my three favorite champions don't apply to. If my team needs a support, then I'll still lock in a bruiser. Maybe I'm not a team player. xD

Runes

My rune choice is simple. Did you know that by the time you hit level 6 with per level defense runes, they'll give you more defense than flat runes? Well if you didn't know that... You do now. The armor penetration runes boost your damage at low levels more than any other physical attack runes do. I wish I still had my Excel spreadsheets of this because I graphed the behavior of armor penetration runes compared to other runes at low levels. But what you need to know is this: The less armor your enemy has, the more painful flat ArP is.

Summoner Spells

Jarvan & Jax:
I'm running flash because it makes the difference between life and death in many scenarios.
Olaf:
I run ghost on Olaf because it synchronizes with his ultimate flawlessly. Pop ghost and R and dive in there and kill people. That's the way to do it.
Ignite:
I'm running ignite because I know it works best with my personal play style. If you want something else instead of ignite, have at it hoss. If ignite didn't exist, I'd probably be running exhaust in its place. To me, the only viable summoner spells are heal, teleport, ghost, smite, flash, and ignite.

Jungle

This build is labeled 3v3, but I use the same stuff on 5v5. I'd just like to write a few comments about jungling on Summoner's Rift. I don't jungle Jarvan. I just don't because his laning power is so strong that it is a waste of potential to jungle him.
Jungle Jax:
I follow the exact same item build. My spells are smite and ignite. Take E at level 1 and start on the wolves. Then do blue and get Q. I usually gank top after that.
Jungle Olaf:
I follow the same item build again. My spells are ghost and smite. I take W at level 1 and start on the wolves. Then do blue and get Q. If I don't gank top after that, then I either gank mid or clear the rest of my jungle.
Note:
The Olaf mastery page is the page I use to jungle with 100% of the time.

Masteries

I take pride in my awesome mastery pages and I salute Riot for designing them the way that they did. First of all, you obviously have to have the points that buff your summoner spells. You also obviously need the free +6 armor and magic resist. That stuff is cake. The life steal mastery is important because it gives you more HP with every single auto attack you make. That benefits you wherever you are. Gotta sustain! The weapon expertise point is a must because of its damage boost. Executioner and sunder also give you big damage boosts, rendering them a must, in my opinion. Now everything else sort of comes down to personal preference.
Lethality and deadliness are good for me because by the time you get some actual DPS, (attack speed, critical strike chance) those points give you more benefits than anything else in terms of raw damage output. Demolitionist helps me to kill towers or backdoor them. And tough skin... Well. Look at it this way: If you make the decision to take enemy creep aggro because you think you'll get a kill, this mastery point helps tremendously to keep you alive. Stay alive mang! Gotta stay alive!

Skill Sequence

SO this one is important to read. I'll tell you how to use your abilities in lane.
Jarvan:
I take boots and Q because Q lets me attack from a distance out of harms way and if I'm moving faster it just makes me the most annoying **********er to lane against. To escape ganks I get E as soon as possible. I get Q again after that to give my lane enemy more pain. Then W is more important than E because as they say: Defense is sometimes the best offense. In this case, that's true. The stronger shield is better than having slightly increased damage. Stay alive mang! Ya gotta stay alive!
Jax:
I take Q first and max Q first because Q hurts. Before level 6, you should not be spamming Q. You should be farming. Once you get level 6, you can start making big combos. Get two stacks off of enemy creeps, activate W, Q the enemy, and auto attack once. That **** hurts. If you think you can get a kill by also activating E, have at it hoss. I max E before W because E has a big damage potential and if I remember correctly, W got nerfed. But it's up to you.
Olaf:
I get Q first so that I can damage my enemy from a distance out of harms way. At level 2, I get a bit more aggressive because I have true damage blast. Obviously maxing the true damage on Olaf is important because that **** hurts. I max Q before W because Q, if used right, is a pretty dangerous ability. W is more of a sustain. If you need the sustain, I guess get W. But you might be doing something wrong if you need more sustain.

Items

I guess item sections generate the most controversy so I'll explain my item choices to you as clearly as I can. Keep in mind that this is labeled 3v3. However, I use the same stuff on 5v5. I see no need to change up my stuff. A bruiser is a bruiser.
Jarvan:
My Jarvan item build matches my play style. I use Q to harass and I always get a kill when I engage with R. So first of all, I get boots. It gives me the window I need to spam Q on my enemy until he's low enough to finish off. I then get the brutalizer to make my Q as dangerous as possible. Then I stack HP, finish my boots, buy whatever counters the enemy team. If I'm laning against a magic damage champion I buy hexdrinker after boots instead of the brutalizer. After that I work towards atma's and maw of malmortius. In essence of writing this guide, I am assuming that you are not an experienced player. If you were, you would not need a guide. xD Atma's impaler synchronizes with warmog's, obviously. And I know atma's got nerfed. It's still awesome. Maw of malmortius gives me the wrecking potential I need. Caster **** block? Check. Tons of damage? Check. I finish my ghostblade late game. If the game is still going on by then, which is not likely, buy a GA. GA #1! Gotta stay alive mang! Gotta stay alive!
Jax:
I know what you may be thinking: Where are the GUNS? I'm sorry to tell you that Riot has done away with our guns. The hextech gunblade nerf was catastrophically stupid. It's way too expensive to be worth buying now. Way too expensive. I don't buy a rageblade because Jax is no longer a true hybrid. He used to have AP ratios on all of his abilities, but they changed him to be more AD oriented. Anyways, how are you going to be useful without trinity force's supreme utility? The slow. The proc. The mana. The movement speed. Without trinity force, you are not Jax, you are NOOB! Then you get atmog's of course. Well you get atma's last. Keep in mind that critical strike chance multiplies your damage. Trinity force and atma's work hand in hand. Jax's AD ratios are excellent so you need a bloodthirster. And don't forget about staying alive. With your angel.. Obviously the build is set up so that you will sell your lantern endgame.
Olaf:
I buy attack speed boots because I don't need to worry about CC whilst using R. And if you engage without R, you'll probably die regardless of what items you have. Olaf makes the casters run away from him because he is scary and that is why you don't build much magic resist until late game. Once you do get to late game the casters are dangerous and you need banshee's. I buy zeke's herald because it benefits the other bruiser on my team and my AD carry as well (5v5). And of course it benefits Jarvan and Jax in 3v3.

Now um... If the enemy team has a stupid composition like all AD or all AP you need to build against that. This is the way I do it.
Jarvan:
Anti AP: Get force of nature instead of GA. Get banshee's instead of atma's impaler.
Anti AD: Get ninja tabi instead of mercury's treads. Get sunfire cape instead of GA. Get thornmail instead of maw of malmortius.
Jax:
Anti AP: Get force of nature instead of GA. Get banshee's instead of atma's impaler.
Anti AD: Get ninja tabi instead of mercury's treads. Get thornmail instead of GA.
Olaf:
Anti AP: Get mercury's treads instead of zerker's. Get force of nature instead of GA. Get maw of malmortius instead of atma's impaler.
Anti AD: Get ninja tabi instead of zerker's. Get sunfire cape instead of banshee's. Get thornmail instead of GA.

Update: I noticed that the new TT has blocked some of my favorite items!
Here I will give you substitutes...
J4:
Overlord's Bloodmail to replace Warmog's
Blade of the Ruined King to replace GA
Anti AP changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's
Anti AD changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's and Frozen Heart in place of Thornmail
Jax:
Overlord's Bloodmail to replace Warmog's
Sanguine Blade in place of Bloodthirster
Blade of the Ruined King to replace GA
Anti AP changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's
Anti AD changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's and Frozen Heart in place of Thornmail
Olaf:
Overlord's Bloodmail to replace Warmog's
Blade of the Ruined King to replace GA
Anti AP changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's
Anti AD changes - Bloodmail in place of Warmog's and Frozen Heart in place of Thornmail

Now just for the fun of it I will put the thumbnail lines of each build for these guys. Well sometimes I run back here in the case of forgetting what my own build is, so yeah that too. I won't label anything cause I (and you) should know what each one is.

-Summoner's Rift-
Jarvan Lightshield IV - the Exemplar of Demacia

Jax - Grandmaster at Arms

Olaf - the Berserker

Team Work

SO :> 3v3.
I think Jarvan should solo top or bot. Jax and Olaf can share bot or one of them can jungle. But 3v3 does not have a distinct meta in my opinion. Do what you want mang. Keep in mind Jarvan can gank like a boss. You should have no problem to win duels or team fights.

Green

Green is my favorite color.
I hope you love beating people up with bruisers as much as I do. I'll end the guide here. By the way, Penta Dodge is the name of my smurf. I wrote this based on my personal experience in ranked and in accordance to my play styles.
