Soraka has been my main support champ from the start. I suck at skill shots and combos, she's very easy to "drive". Spamm Starcall during fights, silence the enemy, keep your allies going by feeding them some of your mana and of course, she's the ultimate healer in the game.

I won't write a book on how to play her. I simply want to share the results of trial and error... I've tried many items, runes and masteries.

This is what works for me.

Most support will take Exhaust, I much prefer to have Clarity. During early game, you WILL run out of mana if you have to heal a little and feed your ADC mana. I get some extra time in lane and I can once again heal/mana feed my carry. Before and during team fights, topping off your team's mana can turn the tide of the battle. Infuse is great to refuel mana, but it can't be used on yourself and will most likely be used to silence during team fights.



Soraka has no means of escape, this one is used by almost all champs anyway.

She's already fast, that makes her faster. Could be used instead of Flash, also has a shorter CD and a long duration.



Your team is losing the fight?... pop this and your Wish. You just saved the day.



Decent spell to give the edge to your carry during a fight. Your target becomes weaker in every way.

You're gonna be at above the 40% CDR cap with masteries and items once geared, you're not a tank and not a damage dealer. This is the only logical choice. get in and out of Dodge fast.

You can't farm, you need gold. This is the best money maker for her. The "get out of jail" active is awesome and since you're watching the health bars like a hawk, you should know when to ping the retreat and use it to get your team out of there. Also good for catching up on a runner. She needs mana regen and CDR too. This item was made for her.



Remove fog of war and you win! Problem is, you can't. You can however poke some holes in it... Wards...Some do believe that the burden of warding is no longer the job of the support since we all got free wards now. Guess i'm old school. This is the Ultimate warding tool. Upgrading from Sightstone is not a huge priority, you are no longer limited to 2 wards, but you carry one less and health provided is lower.



This puppy is great!! it's cheap, gives you CDR, mana regen, AP and it slows down lifesteal/ spellvamp. Starcall is the perfect delivery method for that, you keep spamming it and if you push a little forward, you can nail most, if not the whole opposite team.



Another good item for her. AP combined with a decent amount of health. The other reason to get it is the slow, it's short and somewhat little (15% slow with Starcall, 35% with Infuse). But it's something that will keep them from reaching you or get away if you're chasing.



You got the master tool for wards already, but wait! you can only place 3 stealth wards... What to do?? Get a vision ward silly :P

Ok... good news!! you got room for one more!

But what to pick?



The best item for AP, end of story. Bigger heals and bigger damage, simple.



Great amount of AP a little armor... and the "can't touch this" active. A great life saver.

You got a heavy AD team and you can't keep up with the healing? give them some lifesteal.



A good defensive item for team fights. Great synergy with your Wish. Use them one after the other and look at the other team going "****". Look if someone has it already before buying.



You will get focused a lot if they can get to you. This is a second chance at life plus some armor and MR. If you see you're about to die, hold off using Wish until you get back. Pop Clarity and you're fresh as a daisy.



Want your Starcall to really hurt? Combined with Rylai's Crystal Scepter, the opposite team is getting hammered and slowed every 1.5 secs. Tanks will hate you.
