Here, a box for you, now go out troll!
FIRST OF ALL, this is not a common build for Mordekaiser, it's a build for people who have already played with him and wanna try something new. This is more like a build for common players. I will not explain the runes and the masteries because it won't be necessary, everyone know how to buy runes and use masteries, so I don't need to teach anyone ¬¬.

Options
Doran's Ring is a wiseful choice if you plan to start with Siphon of Destruction. This ring provides all nice things (except Mana regen.) for Mordekaiser. This is an option for Summoners who doesn't know how to play with him.
Top Lane Viability: 8
Mid Lane Viability: 9
Bot Lane Viability: 4
Doran's Shield is another nice idea to start with Siphon of Destruction, but you can start with Creeping Death for better support early game. It's a viable option for starters too.
Top Lane Viability: 7
Mid Lane Viability: 6
Bot Lane Viability: 9
Ruby Crystal, in my opinion, isn't a good item to start. You only gain health, being an useless Mordekaiser. But it's a nice option if you are premade with an Ashe or Varus.
Top Lane Viability: 5
Mid Lane Viability: 2
Bot Lane Viability: 7
Amplifying Tome and Health Potion are nice options to start with Siphon of Destruction at mid lane. You can start harassing the enemies and their minions. These option are for Summoners that know how to play with Mordekaiser and want to try something new.
Top Lane Viability: 6
Mid Lane Viability: 8
Bot Lane Viability: 5
Regrowth Pendant and Health Potion can be nice options for Dr. Mundo, but aren't so good for Mordekaiser. Let's get clear that you can spam your skills thanks to the pendant, that "heals" you after using the ability (If you don't remember, Morde's abilities uses health). Nice option for Bot Laners with their Mace of Spades.
Top Lane Viability: 7
Mid Lane Viability: 5
Bot Lane Viability: 8
Null-Magic Mantle + 2 Health Potions are exclusively for Mid Lane. If you'll counter hard champions like Veigar, Morgana or Brand, you have two options: Combat fire with fire (getting the tome), or staying at the defensive, avoiding them to level up with this. Start with Siphon of Destruction or Creeping Death.
Top Lane Viability: 5
Mid Lane Viability: 7
Bot Lane Viability: 7
Boots + 3 Health Potions are probably the best items to start a 3x3. Here you need to get fast to the bot lane to start ganking everything / everyone. But take care: With this the only survivability you have is the "extra" movement speed, so... Ghost it!
Top Lane Viability: 9
Mid Lane Viability: 8
Bot Lane Viability: 9
Boots + Health Potion + sight ward are good options for Bot laners and 3x3 players. With this you can start your warding near the Dragon lane or the Lizard's Lane (3x3). But as I said earlier, with this you are weak, so take care.
Top Lane Viability: 7
Mid Lane Viability: 5
Bot Lane Viability: 10
Twitch's Lane Viability: ∞²

This is auto-explicative. |
Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions aren't a nice option for Mordekaiser, just because some champions weren't made to jungle, and he is one of them. If your other team is main Attack Damage, this CAN be a viable option, but if you insist on getting this, you'll start with Mace of Spades or Creeping Death. You can use this kit if you are facing Riven or another hard AD Solo Top.
Top Lane Viability: 6
Mid Lane Viability: 0
Bot Lane Viability: 6

Caution: Elixirs are nice if you know how to use it. Be careful with your choices and take care. This is for your own risk. |
Elixirs and Health Potions are a nice choice if you master them (and Mordekaiser too). Elixirs normally are used at late game, when you have already bought everything for your build. But he is a nice choice for early game too, check this:
- Elixir of Fortitude can be used like a Heal, preventing you from death.
- It can also prevent from Over-time spells, such as Ignite or Teemo's Toxic Shot.
- Elixir of Brilliance is a nice choice if you want some extra CDR for spamming spells.
- Both Elixirs doesn't lost their stacks upon death. But take care, don't use them too quickly, use them only when the minions have appeared.
or...
Some people will think that I'm crazy, but they're right. 12 Health Potions can be insane, but it's not. Well... Mordekaiser is a manaless champion that uses Health. So... if you want to sustain your lane, you need life. And nothing is better than 12 potions :D. But DON'T SPAM THEM. Till 6 you have used like 6 / 7 potions and you'll have 800 or 1000 gold. You can start harassing the lane until your potions finish, so you recall and get everything. TAKE CARE: You have no warding system, so think about it before happens, because if the other team has a hard CC jungler ( Amumu, Sejuani, Nautilus and Udyr), the potions won't be so effective with ganks.
Top Lane Viability: 10
Mid Lane Viability: 10
Bot Lane Viability: 9

REMEMBER: This is just a core plan that you can follow at mid game. This not includes Spellvamp Items. |
This is just a resume of the game. Normally I'm very flexible when the topic is Top Lane. If I'm dying, I start to make a completely different guide for Mordekaiser. I'll list here some guides for special champions at the top lane that can harass you first.
Singed
If this guy is going Top Lane, better think twice. Playing against a Singed is the same thing of putting a two-edged knife on a portal gun. He means trouble! But why?
Easy sir, there is a phrase that explains everything: DON'T CHASE!
This champion has a special annoying ability called Poison Trail. If you don't know what it does, better take care. You can't harass him, because It will be trouble. You can't do anything to him whithout having several problems. Bait is the term. Singed flings you and slows you just for his friend Lee Sin kill you. Nice, it isn't? If you plan to play against this, better get some hard tricks:

If you plan to play against this, better get some hard tricks:
- Flash instead Ghost
- Start with A LOT of Health Potions and some wards.
- Harass him at the beginning of the game to avoid him level up.
- ALWAYS HAVE A WARD.
- Mordekaiser is a nice pusher, you can use Iron Man shield to block Singed's trail.
- Check the other team. If they have no effectible gank system, go ahead and kill him.
- And don't forget it: DON'T CHASE SINGED!
Anti-Singed Build
Dr. Mundo
Normally Dr. Mundo isn't a top lane champion, but the problem is at the late game. He is, probably, the best tank ever, so YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE AND KILL HIM. Do not try to play against him without having some tricks, like this:
- After Mid Game, do not try to go 1x1 with him. He can tank you till his friends come, and bye bye Mordekaiser
- Health is his main build, so try to get some Health Damagers ( Deathfire Grasp)
- If he is planning to go top, you should get an Executioner's Calling. This is the best way to stop Mundo Early Game.
- He has a very useful escape system with Maximum Dosage, so if you hear some weird noise and green sparkles are getting out of him, YOU WILL NOT CHASE HIM, instead, use your Ignite to decrease his heal ability.
Anti-Mundo Build
Morgana
Morgana is one of the best mages in this game. Normally she is banned from ranked games, but there is some rare exceptions. I recommend to don't play against her at the mid lane, but if you have no options, let's get some tricks:
- Try to ward everything to avoid certain junglers. With binding dart, you will have no escape.
- If you plan to harass, keep at mind that she has one of the best spell shields, the Black Shield. Your Children of the Grave can be canceled.
- Try to get Quicksilver Sash to stop Soul Shackles mid game.
- She is a nice pusher too, so avoid her Tormented Shadow and feed your Iron Man too.
- In my opinion, beat fire with fire.
Counter-Morgana Build
Master Yi
I don't think him as a hard AD Carry to beat. Instead, if you get some protection, Master Yi turns useless. But is a problem if you aren't facing him to "supress" his fed. He can also be an annoying tank making Ability power and using Meditate. First, you need to check what he will do, then you get some tips here:
- Meditate is one of the worst things that could happens to you. Check Yi if he have already used this ability to use your Children of the Grave. If he didn't do it, try to get a fatal blow with your slavery ultimate.
- Master Yi is one of the best pets for Mordekaiser, just losing for Vayne's and Kayle's pet. So if you already have your ultimate, make it sure that WILL KILL HIM.
- Alpha Strike is an annoying ability, especially if Master Yi is doing AP. Don't stay near him if you are with low health.
- Highlander with some phantom dancers can be a problem if you want to runaway. If you have life, fight with him. You might try to tank him till your friend come to help you.

Volibear
Probably one of the best tankers here, Volibear has an amazing (and annoying) survivability thanks to The Relentless Storm, preventing him from frequent deaths. He also has a burst damage with
Frenzy
, an ability that can be compared with Garen's Demacian Justice. With a Fling and an AoE slow, let's check how can we defend from his feral beast:
- Don't stay near him if you have low health. He can easlily use Thundering Smash to fling you and use Frenzy to get a fatal blow (of course, it will work only when Frenzy stacks 4 times).
- The same thing if he has low health. The Relentless Storm will troll you and get almost another life to kill you. (This thing works better with Spirit Visage, so, if he didn't buy it, you should try to beat him).
- His ultimate, Stormbringer, is a problem if you are trying to runaway. It can bounce on you, killing you. Try to run away far from to your minions, preventing the bounce and the possible death.
- Do not try to x1 with this beast late game, he will kill you like mashed potatoes, so if you want to kill him, check your probabilities.
- A common build for Volibears is the combination of Warmog's Armor and Force of Nature. Use Deathfire Grasp with Void Staff to destroy his magic resistance, and use Ignite + Children of the Grave combo to break his The Relentless Storm and getting a nice clone!
