Introduction

Still in progress.

This is a AP / off tank build. I don't consider this a tank build, but he most certainly can tank.

The reason being, is that Morde has spamable spells that scale incredibly with items. If you build him as a tank, he is viable, but with no hard cc, no soft cc, all Tank Morde does is run around and try to scare people. He will just be ignored, and the carries will go down.

This build of Morde makes him invincible. Having AP means nobody wants to fight him, a slow so no one can get away, MASSIVE AOE farming ability (which is key to this build), and defenses so he never dies.

Another reason this build is so golden, is because of two things. 1. The build is super expensive, which means you become insanely powerful late game. Most characters with cheap builds end up being subpar end game. Not with this build. Because Morde can farm like crazy, has heart of gold early, he can afford it. 2. The items in this build work so perfectly with him, so he continually gets beefier and beefier. As soon as you get spell vamp, you don't need regen, you can just crush your way back to health.

Runes

Rune set up is up to you. I like going with spell pen, ability power per lvl, ability power per lvl, and ability power per level / health for quints.

Reason being, most games come down to mid / end game. The ability power per lvl evens out mid game, and just helps out more end game. As long as you play defensive, and just farm, there shouldn't be much trouble. Once you hit 6, you can use your ult defensively if need be, which works awesome.

Items

First thing I want to note. This build is super expensive which means Morde will always get stronger. The next thing is, you will almost never complete this build. Unless its over one hour, and you have like 350 minion kills and at least a few champ kills, you wont have the gold to build everything. Does this make him weaker? NO. If anything it just makes him stronger, as he will always have the ability to become bigger.

I cannot stress this enough, some champions will cap out, and not have the ability to become as big. Morde has an extremely high item cap which makes him insane end game.

First item you want to finish is Heart of Gold. You should have this by the 5-6 minute mark, which means by 30-35 minutes, its completely paid itself off. Continual gold till the end game rocks and helps him get his items.

Boots can be swtiched out. If you have less then 3 hard cc's / stuns against you, go magic pen boots, 3 or more go with Merc Treads.

Once you get your Hextech Revolved, it means you can stay in a lane forever / jungle all you want. Not only does this item help with AP, it also works PERFECTLY with Mordes ult, so you get more lifesteal on top of that.

Getting Rylai's is where it starts getting awesome. Most people scoff at Rylai's on Morde. Why would you though? All his abilities are going to slow with this. Thats right ALL. Every time his ult ticks, slow, every time his shield ticks, slow, every time.... you get the point. This means you can help save your team (or yourself) if running away, OR you can use it offensively, and make sure nobody gets out of your reach. All in all, amazing item for Morde.
