hi i'm new around here, but looking at your item build i'm just curious about Guardian Angel. is it really worthwhile? by the time you get it, there's most likely less than 10 min gameplay left (passive cd is 5min right? that's just max 2-3 procs). also, the stats aren't that great for the money iirc (there are better items for either armor or mr). lastly, the revive gives you merely 750hp... if the team was able to kill you once, they'd most likely be able to do so again. imho, there aren't THAT many situations where the revive gives you a strong edge (extremely situational!) that means the only use for GA is the psychological deterrence afforded by the visible particle; which is worth something, but i'm guessing not that much.

another question is... what happened to Sunfire? is it no longer viable? it may seem extreme to get two Giant's Belt items, but isn't Sunfire a decent alternative to either FM or GA? (esp since they buffed the dmg to 40dps again!)

Thanks for responding, I get GA because often I find that I do have a lot of uses for it. As Garen, I find that the armor and magic resist you get from it is a lot more helpful than the extra health from Sunfire Cape, and is worth the money, more so than other items. Also, I find that GA's passive is amazing,and also better than Sunfire Cape's. The 40 magic damage a second, when taken with even base magic resist, is almost non- noticeable. Notice the results on the bottom of the page, I would have died 2-3 more times if It hadn't been for GA's passive. For a lot of things your right though, often item builds vary from game to game, and often Sunfire Cape will be better than Guardian Angel, if you feel like the passive will not be as useful. Often though, I get ALOT of farm as Garen solo top, like over 300 each game, so I can get GA earilier than some might think. Of course, I dont' get this kind of farm every game, but Garen is an amazing farmer and can get gold fast, especially with his kill securing ultimate. I will add Sunfire Cape in the situational item section in the next few days hopefully. Also, this may be because I was playing in normals, but often I found that even when I would engage after the tank, I would get focused for some reason.

Guide was pretty short so im putting it into my short guide section, no vote yet because I see a lack of explaination in some major area's.

• Ok so I got no experience with/seeing garen but, it looks like your going for a weird versing of crank plank(crit tank).
• I like the mass images gives a nice visual.
• why not mention Ghost it seems like a good choice since he is naturally fast already.
• you could explain his abilities a little more, the explaination was kinda short.
• I would add more items to talk about since your guide isn't even finshed in the items section.
• 1 picking up doran's first is generally stupid because of your lack of escapes(garen has a speed up not a jump). Also never take a point into anything right away because there might be a better spell if the enemy invades or you get ganked right away ect.
• explain better why you take those abilities in that order.
• if you go back to lane without hp pots your going to have a BAD TIME! Doesnt matter who you are.

This will be going into my short guide section. No vote yet, I found the guide was lacking in a few important areas and could use some better explaination on things like items(add more included), abilities/order and why.

What do you guys think of Leviathan armor with Atma's Impaler?

Leviathan is not the best item to get really. The only possible scenario is if you are extremely fed, and plan on getting more kills without dying. It is decent on Garen because he can secure kills with Demacian Justice, which means more stacks, but in general, don't get it.

It's a good build although I have made him more of a tank in my play style with 23 in defense (so far, I'm not 30 yet) as well as getting Courage second instead of Decisive Strike. Also getting Avarice blade as soon as possible helps a LOT. Believe me, if Garen gets fed (one way or another) in the early game you will dominate your lane even in an 1v2. This build is good however and extremely close to what I use.

Thanks, you did very well! I prefer getting Decisive Strike second, for a huge damage boost, though a lot of the early game depends on your playstyle. Btw, great minds think alike! :)
