The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Pros / Cons
- AP Stacked Spear will do devestating damage to enemy champions
- Traps which give good CC
- Easy escape mechanism
- She can be played as a hybrid with her cougar form
- Very mana hungry
- Fairly squishy early to late game
- Focused alot in team fights because of her damage output
Hello there and welcome to my guide. I have been playing Nidalee for a while now, trying different builds including hybrid and AD. But to my attention AP seemed the most powerful and effective. AP Nidalee will dominate mid game and late game, when your AP is around 600-700. Shes a very useful character because of her escape mechanism (Cougar Form), Heal (Primal Surge) and CC (Bushwack Traps).
If you stick with AP Nidalee, 9/10 games you will dominate and win.
Choosing Your Runes
In my rune book I aim to make the most of my AP, making it high as possible aswell as effective. This is why I chose Magic Penetration as my marks, giving you an extra advantage against the enemy. For my seals, I went for mana regeneration as Nidalee is very mana hungry alot of the time. For my glyphs, I decided to max out as much AP as possible to help you early game. As for my last quintessence's I decided to go for magic penetration giving a slight advantage.
Runes with Nidalee can be optional, especially with AP. You can stack full magic penetration, full AP or full mana regen. Even with full mana regen stacked your spear will still be effective.
Its very important to max out heal first, as you will be taking alot of damage early and mid game. Heal will easily give you survivability. The next thing to max out is the spear, giving you an effective damage output early as possible, I choose the spear over the traps because you do not need alot of CC early game, and they are not as effective as the spear.
If you max out spear before traps, your guaranteed a kill early game.
Nidalee needs to stack alot of AP for her spear to become highly effective, although this leaves her mana hungry so you need to include some sort of increased mana/mana regen. To start off with, buying a is almost the perfect choice as it gives you AP, Health and Mana regen. After you have farmed enough gold, its good to go straight to your boots. Boots are usually a situational item, although I usually go forto protect her from AP carrys aswell as giving her Tenacity. For your first Laning/Luxury item, you want to go straight for the AP stack, buying a. This will greatly increase the power of your spear, halfing squishy carrys healths with one spear. I highly recommend buying this item even with any situation. After this, you want to stack some AP but sort out the mana issue, which is why I go for the Lich Bane, giving you a nice amount of AP, Mana and magic resist. After this an, now this is situational depending on what champions your facing. This gives you an extra 70 AP but also gives you an extra 57 magic resist. If your not up against AP champions, switch this item for aor a similar item. Finally, I HIGHLY recommend buying the. This is an amazing luxury item, giving you 100 AP, armour and an active which makes you invunrable for 2 seconds.
Overall, Nidalee is a fairly powerful champion wether you stack AP or not. If there was any build that I personally find effective, it is AP Nidalee.
I hope you guys get as much fun as I do from AP Nidalee and I also hope you understand how effective she really is.
