Leona is a pure tank that deals hard CC and doesn't do much damage on her own. However, her passive builds up in teamfights and is great when harassing in lane. Her farming is mediocre, but her supporting ability is amazing.
Magic Penetration Marks for maximum harassment during laning. I'm pretty sure this affects your passive.
Mana Regen. Self explanatory.
Magic resist/level glyphs. Per level for better scaling late-game, not to mention her low base MR.
Pure health doesn't make you a tank, but it sure helps.
Just a small boost in speed. Leona is VERY slow. With this, you get around 416 after FoN and 386 with boots. Not a large boost, but it helps a bit.
Skip out on because Leona already has really good Health Regen. Her cooldowns are very long early-game, but should round them off later on. and are especially important due to Leona's low base movement speed and the fact that she's a tank.
Start off with a
and a potion so you can rush your Philosopher's Stone. The first few levels make the extra regeneration significant. You also want your
so you can let your lane partner farm. Get a Catalyst the Protector for more lanestaying power, and
are self-explanatory. Buy a
for the cooldowns and armor, then depending on the team, either finish
. Sell your HoG.
Again, depending on the team, build your or a . If the enemy has even more AD than they should, replace the sunfire with . Build the Philostone into Shurelya's Reverie for near-max CDR. With your W, you should have around 250 of each resistance.
Your passive is Sunlight. Since you can't proc it on your own, Leona is an ideal duo-lane partner. It can activate from abilities as well as auto-attacks. However, it doesn't stack, so time your abilities so that your team can benefit from it the most.
Take your level 1 point in for the stun and aggressive laning. By level 3, have 1 point in each of your main abilities, then prioritize because it's your tanking steroid and applies your passive to all enemies hit. Max your stun next, because you need that up as often as possible.
last. It can go through minions, but remember that it blinks you to the last champion hit. It also snares them for around half a second, which makes it easier to follow up with a stun.
Your ultimate is an AoE stun that gives a significant slow outside of the main, small radius. The delay isn't as long as Veigar's Dark Matter, so you only have to lead a little bit to land this.
When initiating, hit before ing in. Use on the enemy team when you arrive, then use as much as possible.
I use Exhaust and Flash. Other viable spells include Teleport and Clairvoyance if your team really needs them.
If you enjoy pubstomping normals, take Smite if there's not jungler and get 1 point in to take the double golems with your partner. Continue laning because Leona is a terrible farmer and is even worse at Jungling.
Leona doesn't hit hard damage-wise, but her passive and her low-cooldown stun make up for that. She is an insane disruptor and is tanky as hell. Extremely fun to play.
