Full Build #1
Not Updated For Current Season
Hi guys and welcome to my Wukong guide! This guide will tell you why you should use Wukong, tips, and other things in between. Oh and by the way...I've played [[wukong since s5, and played league since s5. Anyways lets get started!
Pros / Cons
- The mind games he can pull are insane
- Has good engage/disengage
- Bulky enough to be an off-tank
- Can deal a lot of damage
- Has a strong early to mid game
- Has great escape potential with his W
- Strong CC can shut him down
- His late game is kind of weak, and his role in team fights is kind of meh
- Tanks can outweigh his damage
- Weak to high burst
- Hard to come back if he falls behind
The Black Cleaver is an item that I always take on Wukong. It gives him the CDR and bulk he needs, plus giving him a decent amount of AD to start doing damage.
Maw of Malmortius is another item I like having on Wukong. Not only does it give a great amount of AD, but it also gives MR and armor pen.
The last item I want to talk about is Ravenous Hydra. This item helps him a lot, with the life steal and the health regeneration it gives, the active increasing the life steal.
Other Items That Work
Titanic Hydra can work with the second build I suggested, since it does 1% of your max health to your primary target, 2.5% in a cone behind them. So because you're building more health with the second build, I can say that this can be swapped for Ravenous Hydra if you want to be more bulky.
Trinity Force is not a bad idea on Wukong. CDR, mana, health, plus attack speed and crit chance. Overall a good item that can be swapped for The Black Cleaver in the first build. I wouldn't recommend it for the second build.
The Bloodthirster could possibly work. The AD it gives is nice, plus you get more life steal from it, so it's not bad. It could work with either build really, and what you could swap it for is really up to you.
Mercurial Scimitar can also work if you need more magic resist, and if the enemy team has high CC. Overall its a nice item to pick up.
Ability Sequence and Explanation
Wukong's passive is Stone Skin. For every enemy champion that's near him, he gains 4/6/8 armor and MR and the amount increases every 6 levels. This passive is nice for the extra bulk it gives him, plus if the whole enemy team is right there, and you're lvl 18, you gain 40 bonus armor and MR. That can make a HUGE difference when you fight them.
His Q is Crushing Blow. His next attack within 5 seconds, will do 30-150 AD +1.1 per AD. It also lowers their armor for 10-30% for 3 seconds. This attack can do some serious damage. With the armor pen you get from it, you can get some AA in there to do some damage. However, this isn't the ability you want to focus on.
Next we have his W Decoy. For 1.5 seconds, Wukong becomes stealthed and leaves an uncontrollable decoy. After the 1.5 second duration, it deals 70-210 AP +60% of his AP. Killing the decoy gives you 25 gold. This move is great for mind games. You can literally stand still and make your opponent think you're a clone. You can also use this move for some great escapes, and you can also use this move for some extra mixed damage when you're busting out your combo.
Wukong's E is Nimbus Strike. He dashes to his target, sending 2 more clones making this move able to hit 3 targets. It deals 60-240 AD +.8 per AD and gains 30-50% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds. This is the bread and butter of Wukong and is his main engage option. The bonus attack speed you get from it is also great since it helps proc Thunderlord's Decree . This move also makes Wukong's wave clear good, since it hit's up to 3 targets.
Lastly we have his ult Cyclone. When activated, it has him spin around dealing 20-200 AD +1.1 per AD to multiple targets, 80-800 AD +4.4 per AD to a single target. He also gets increased movement speed, knocks up anything thats hit by this move, and it can be deactivated at anytime. This move is kind of like Garen's E. You want to use it when the minions aren't around to deal the max amount of damage it can deal. It can be a great finisher to a combo, and a great execution tool as well. It also is great to use it team fights, since it can help your team get into a better position.
MasteriesWukong. If you want more damage early game though, you can switch out Secret Stash for Assassin .
Early game he thrives on duels. Mid game he might get into some team fights, but sometimes you get into duels. Late game, you're gonna be in team fights. Your role in a team fight is to engage with your E and to pop your ult. If they're bunched together, you might knock up 3 people or you might knock up all of them.
The one champion that I find great with Wukong is Yasuo. Your ult is a knock up, which makes Yasuo able to follow up very easily. Plus you both can do high amounts of damage, so you'll wipe out anyone you see if your together.
Ranked with Wukong isn't bad, but isn't the greatest either. It depends on how well you play in lane. The best way to do it, is to play mind games with your opponent and to harass them. It's also good to remember that your ult doesn't have a high CD mid to late game, so it's up pretty often for team fights and such. Even then, I would take someone like Renekton into ranked, since he can do Wukong's job better in some match-ups/situations.
Wukong is a champ I feel is slightly underrated. He has great potential and if used correctly, can destroy the enemy team. Plus the mind games he can pull are insane. Anyways thank you for taking a look at my guide, and I hope it takes you to the TOP! I'm also part of a League team called TTG.
