- Greater Seal of Scaling Health, health is one of the best stat on Dr. Mundo as it will also give him health regen with his passive and Warmog's Armor.
- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist to resist against against an AP top lane, if it is an AD top lane you can take 6 Glyph of Cooldown Reduction to get 5%.
- Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed because Dr. Mundo is not a very mobile character and really benefits from movements speed.
- Regular 6/24/0 tank masteries that give resistance, sustain and a bit of CDR. If you are againt an AD top you can put 3 points in the Hardiness mastery and keep 1 in the Resistance mastery.
Flash should be taken on every champion as a primary spell, it is a very useful gap closer that can be used offensively and defensively, it help you secure kills or get out of dangerous situations like ganks. It is good on Dr. Mundo because he has no escape.
Teleport is the spell that you should take, most of the time, on Dr. Mundo as a secondary spell. It is a very safe spell to take because it gives you more lane presence so that you don't fall behind. It is also verfy useful because, when it's up, you can join any teamfights by using it on a ward. You can also use it to gank bot by using it in a lane brush.
Ghost is also a very good option on Dr. Mundo as a secondary spell. It is good since Dr. Mundo has no escape and, combined with you ultimate it'll give you an insane amount of movement speed to secure kills. Take it against easy laners or very mobile champions ( Nidalee).
Ignite is also a viable option on Dr. Mundo as it gives more lane pressure and kill potential but be aware you sacrifice a lot of presence on lane so if you fall behind, it will be very hard to come back up. You should take this spell against an easy laner or a self-healing based champion like Aatrox since this spell applies healing reduction.
The doran's shield is the best option on Dr. Mundo because it gives early health and health regen. It also has a passive that will be very powerful against AD champion. If you are against a skillshot based AP championyou might want to take Boots of Speed and 4 Health Potion.
Boots will help you escape ganks, dodge skillshots and secure kills.
The Ninja Tabi are extremely good for tanking against AD champions because they give armor and an awesome passive which reduces the damage from auto attacks (10%).
The Mercury's Treads are very good in early game to take less magical damage and are also very effecive in late game because the passive reduces the CC you take duration on you.
Mid game items
These items will make you become an unkillable tank, buy some of them depending on the enemy team's damages.
The Sunfire Cape is an good item on Dr. Mundo if you were against an AD top, it gives him armor and health and health regen ( with your passive ) to tank bit more magical and physical damage and has a great passive that synergize very well with your Burning Agony. Be careful because this item's passive pushes minion waves very quickly.
Ths Spirit Visage is one of the best items on Dr. Mundo as it gives all the stats he needs for tanking and an awesome passive that'll increase his regen. It should be present in any of your builds and rushed againt an AP top.
The Warmog's Armor is also an awesome item on Dr. Mundo as it gives very good tanking stats ( health and a lot of health regen ) it is also very useful against champions that deal true damage. It should be present in any of your builds.
The Randuin's Omen is a typical late game item for tanks, it is great on Dr. Mundo It gives very good tanking stats (70 armor 500 health) that allow to survive much longer against AD champs as well as against AP champs. It also has an awesome active that gives you a second slow and that scales with armor.
The Banshee's Veil is good against heavy AP teams as it gives more magic resist and health. It also has a not so bad passive that blocks a spell if you haven't been taking damage fora while, it isn't very useful for tanking but can help you sometimes because it blocks not only a spell but also the CC effect if it has one.
Late Game Items
Buy one of these two items depending on the enemy team's damage.
This item must be bought if they have a fed AD carry. The item itself doesn't gives good tanking stats. But it has an awesome passive that reflects the base damage that you take from auto attacks.
This item is a very good late game item on Dr. Mundo because the death timers will be very long during late game. It is also very good because if you die while your ultimate was active it will continue to heal you during the resurection annimation.
