thx for voting ;-3

@ GrandmasterD

Hi, thx for voting and the interesting feedback. You have to tell me which build-path you are pointing to, since i have offered several build approaches in my guide. In my Off-Tank approaches (with Priority Healt and Armor) the Infinity Edge is built as last item or even not built at all.

Last Whisper is listed in situational items. Sometimes its really better to buy Last Whisper if you focus on Damage and ArP because of high armored enemies, but Youmuu's Ghostblade is a good last Item choice, if you focus on the other viable attributes like Critical Strike Chance & Cooldown Reduction. It really depends on which Item Final Build you are going for.

About the last thing you said, i don't agree. Black Cleaver gives you high AD, some Health, Cooldown Reduction and an ArP, which can stack up to 25% ArP, which is just a little lower than Last Whisper. Altogether BC gives Garen bonus to more attributes than LW. The good things on LW is the cheaper price and the direct 35% ArP without stacking, but since Garen's main Attack is a spin, the stack is no problem. I would buy LW as last item additionally to a BC if i have to deal with some very high armored enemies.

Dislike the current build-path. Toss IE and rush health over resistances. Youmuu's is great but just toss in a LW as a final item to make sure you still deal damage. However, current rating is way too low imo so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Also, Cleaver is more of a situational thing, LW is generally better.

Hi there,

thank you very much for your feedback + upvote. I absolutely agree with you about dealing with AD autoattackers. There you definitely need to go for more AD. Of course you can replace Maw of Malmortius with Infinity Edge if you dont need the extra Magic Resistance.

I dont know if you have really seen all three approaches in my guide for building up Garen:

my friend,

you have tried a new build. It looks similar to spin2crit core except the 4th item is not infinity blade, but maw. your positive vote is due to your effort and I have already considered your some ideas and gained some p.o.v. by the aid of ur effort.

But first to say, I do not agree with 4th item which is maw. On going to the late game we are competing with the heavy AD guys with fast attack, an evasion skill and immense life stealing. In most cases we already dominate mages if we can close the gap. But AD auto attackers with life steal are our worst enemy on 1 on 1 mid/late game. Xin Zhao for instance. Our only hope is to ambush the ad carries from a close distance and in strong champions which excel 1 on 1 our only hope is to use the exhaust spell to decrease life stealing effects and inflict our justice with even more ap bonus for other carry. Garen is trash when he is on cooldown. Only thing he can do is to inflict demacian justice from a short distance to finish of an enemy. With rivals like these, you need to inflict so severe wounds that they cannot heal for that our 4th item must be as offensive as possible. In your core we do not have crit which increases the damage of q greatly. a crit can mean a win. Therefore, if there is no VERY TROUBLESOME ap players on the other side, forget even Hexdrinker. Otherwise go for Hexdrinker and wait until infinity edge is completed to upgrade hex to maw seems to be a good choice. However, advantage of your build is to ignore death in teamfights by ap carries which is crucially beneficial. Still I vote for increased effectiveness of q and e
