Though it seems to many that this build will not stand to most shen builds, there is reason that this build works. There is room for change in the build, for instance, if their isnt a heavy AD champion on their team you could switch out your Thornmail for a Zhonyas hourglass, or something else you fine useful against the team you are facing. I have found in my building of Shen that I rarely die in a game as shen with this build (give or take slight changes). Giving him wriggles Lantern makes it easy to grab dragon or even to be more helpful in your teams baroning in the later game. Combining wriggles lifesteal with vorpal blade gives him great sustainability in team fights and laning. This build appears unorthodox, but give it a try.
