This is my first guide so feel free to give me negative or positive feedback in how to make the guide better. This is my way on playing AD Shaco.

II. My Way Of Playing Shaco

II. My Way of Playing Shaco

Back to Table of Contents

For me I like to lane with shaco more then I like to jungle with him so I play 3v3 with Shaco more, but feel free to jungle in 3v3 when you have pushed your minion way to their turret, but if they are MIA they might be getting dragon. I would jungle in 5v5 because there is no meta for jungling in 3v3 so only go in there to either gank or when the enemy minions are pushed.

III. 3 Builds explanation

Back to Table of Contents

First build I like to call the Max AD Shaco, great damage and has some sustain. For 3v3.
Second build is called the tank killer Shaco. Which is more of an attack speed carry. For 3v3.
Third build is jungle for 5v5.

More explanation for jungle in a new update.

V. Masteries

I go 21-0-9 i go for crit damage and chance and I go for attack speed and armor pen. Then for some more armor penetration and some early game lifesteal helps. You can go for more defense and go 21-9-0 for more health instead for the mana regen if you think your runes can get you enough mana back. For Jungle reduced minion damage and increased minion damage is the only difference.
or
or for 5v5 jungle

VI. Runes

I go for Armor penetration because they are the best for ad carries. Then i go for the critical chance or attack speed for those more lucky crits. Flat armor is good too. However, I spam his abilities a lot so I go for some mana regen. I go for AS(Attack Speed) Quintessences or Armor penetration help me because I don't get a phantom until later in the game or I do get it, but I want the extra armor penetration. If your playing with tank killer shaco I would get armor penetration over attack speed. For jungle armor penetration is still the best I think. Then the armor for reduced damage and since you will most likely get focused because of your damage. Then magic resist per level due to if the Ap mid will focus you because you should be targeting the carry as an assassin.

VII. Summoner Spells

VII. Summoner Spells

Back to Table of Contents

The Highly recommended Summoner Spells:

Exhaust- slows attack speed, movement speed, cuts damage, great against ad carries or for tower diving enemies I would usually get every game except if you are planning to get ghost instead.

Ignite- This gets me tons of kills and usually I can KS(Kill Steal or in other words Kill Secured) with this spell if you stack it on your teammates' ignite or they are running away with low health I 99% time get this unless I would get Exhaust and ghost if you don't have the level for it yet.
SPACE
The Good Summoner Spells -

Flash - Even though you already have a flash which is basically your deceive this could save you or catch up to the enemy if deceive is still on cool-down or get it for the level 1 gank it could save you from dying to first blood.

Ghost -Helps catch up although usually Shaco already has amazing mobility after getting Boots of mobility also helps if again deceive is on cool-down.

Smite - ONLY if you are jungling in 5v5.

Heal - Got nerfed. I would rather get the above summoner spells.I would include this first of all usually support champions are suppose to get it, but I've seen many people use it from AP casters to ad carries to tanks. So if you are planning to get this I would switch exhaust out because ignite is really important to Kill securing.
The NEVER get Summoner Spells:
Clarity - If your running that low on mana you are probably spamming your abilities, if you use that much mana you might as well get a mammune.

Clairvoyance - Why would you ever need this your not support and it's 3v3 your wriggle's should give you plenty of vision already.

Cleanse - It's an OK summoner spell, but the cool down is a little high if you would need this go for banshee's veil or a quicksilver sash.

Garrison - Only get this if you are playing Dominion.

Promote - Only good for early game then a waste of money late game wouldn't get at all.

Surge - Gives you some good stats, but I think with this build you should already have enough damage.

Revive - Nope.

Teleport - In 3v3?With Shaco's great mobility I highly doubt you would need this.

Barrier - Only proving grounds.

VIII. Abilities Explanation

VIII. Abilities explanation

Back to Table of Contents

Backstab- 20% more damage if you attack opponents facing the other way or basically attacking from the back. Let's consider you are fed so they are know scared of you which their first instinct is to turn away from you and run in the opposite direction if you catch up much more damage will be done.
Tips and Tricks
  • Backstab also works with minions and monsters so try to back stab dragon for extra damage.
  • It also works with your ultimate Hallucinate.
  • Two-Shiv Poison passive slow will help you get those backstabs.

Deceive(Q)- It's your main skill that makes Shaco so strong in 3v3. However, let me explain this thoroughly so you don't misinterpret how to use it. It does NOT stack with infinity edge and the critical damage CANNOT be increased unless by leveling up that skill. The skill is basically a very short cool-down flash it also gets you stealthed for 3.5 secs. I recommend you watch out for ganks because if you have deceive into a 2v1 which you being the 1 and they are stronger you have no way to escape for about 11seconds so use it wisely. I think also that it applies to back stab giving that extra 20% damage correct me if I'm wrong, but if it applies then just let's say stalk them until you catch up and do that crazy amount of damage.
Tips and Tricks
  • Deceive is all about correct timing, use it to early you might end up with no escape, use it late you might have died or lost a kill.
  • Run towards your base and then Deceive towards there base to throw them off direction.
  • Also using Deceive and not moving might also throw off your opponents.
  • Combined with your Jack In The Box you could plan their escape route and catch up easily.

Jack in the box(W)This is like your peanut butter and jelly for your sandwich. It helps you gain vision to help you and your teammates know where the enemies location sometimes maybe. It also helps fear nearby enemies for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds in a 300 range radius. That half a second to 1 and half second you can kill them easily, but since I use it more for vision and setting up ganks I really don't need the extra fear so I leave it at level 1 at max it last. To use this spell for more important uses which I usually do is to try to interpret where the enemies are going to try to escape and place on there so to stall them for me to catch up and get a kill.
Tips and Tricks
  • Stack the Jack In The Box together in a bush will almost give you instant kill.
  • You could also stack them at blue buff or red buff and get them without taking damage.
  • Using Jack In The Box in a team fight will maximize the damage output from it.
  • Acts like a ward to help warn you if nearby enemies are going to gank you.

Two-shiv poison(E)- This is what makes Shaco a good stalker/good chaser. It gives you that slow on passive so each time you auto attack the enemy they are slowed 20-30% for 2 seconds giving you time to hit them again to keep slowing them. I recommend to not use the active until they use flash or ghost because it will get rid of it's passive which slows it and you would have to wait 8 seconds until it's available again.
Tips and Tricks
  • Two-Shiv Poison passive allows you to catch up to enemies if you constantly can hit them.
  • Throw the Two-Shiv Poison if they flash away and then catch up by deceiving up to them.
  • Don't throw Two-Shiv Poison unless they flash cause it gets rid of the passive on-hit slow until the cool-down is down.

Hallucinate(R)- This is your ult duplicates yourself making you have 2 clones, but deals half damage to towers, half damage to enemies, and receive 50% more damage. I don't recommend using it for escape because since it has a pretty long cool-down and let's say you are wearing a buff then it wouldn't help you in any way because the clone doesn't get that buff so you stand out or you use sheen but your clone doesn't get sheen either so it's obvious. It could help you with Karthus' Ult which you can use right at the right time and making aim it at your clone instead. Although, with all that negative stuff it can help in 1v1 team fights. Usually when you know an enemy is coming for you I usually go Hallucinate and then I immediately go deceive so the enemy uses all their abilities on my clone and then I can grab an easier kill. Also helps you taking down those towers even though it does less damage it helps.
Tips and Tricks
  • Use Hallucinate with Wriggle's Lantern to get an early dragon.
  • Hallucinate does less damage, but applies Black Cleaver stacks.
  • Try to keep moving the Hallucinate clone to throw them off.
  • Explodes after dying or after a set amount of time, using it correctly can cause your enemies to kill the Hallucinate clone and up dying.
  • If planing to tower dive make the Hallucinate clone go in first and then follow up from behind. You could also use it by sending it in alone and try to get it near the enemy.
  • Using Hallucinate and Deceive at the same time can make enemies use all their abilities on your clone.
  • Clone will come back after a set distance, so keep it close if you want to send it in to the tower.
  • Buffs and Sheen proc will stand out so beware of using it if you want to try to throw someone off.

I go for jack in the box at level 1 for first blood and for early vision also for jungling in 5v5. Then I go straight for deceive and I max out first then I max two-shiv. I go for deceive for it's outrageous damage early game with crits. This is how I usually level my skills. For jungle you might max Two-Shiv first.

: Easier escapes, chasing easier, ganking easier, otherwise get berserker greaves for alternative.
: More life steal, ability to might hit extra damage on monsters and minions, armor and attack damage. A free ward too helps a lot in both 5v5 and 3v3. A early dragon combined with your ultimate. Sell this to buy a bloodthister later in the game.
: gives you +80ad, gives you crits higher chance, very good item. Replace it with a trinity force if you want even more mobility, sheen proc, and slow from phage.

XII. Situational items

Back to Table of Contents

Go for Phantom Dancer if you want to move even faster and get that attack speed. You can go for Infinity Edge and do a lot more damage through crits but it does not go to the 250% more damage crits for deceive.
You can even go for Bloodthirster if you want and get stacks, however I usually get risky so I happen to die a lot, so it's less often I use it.
Guardian Angel and Banshee's Veil is good for teams that have a lot of stuns, slows, blinds, etc and go for Guardian Angel if you are getting focused a lot.
If the other team is building armor you can go for Black Cleaver and it stacks with your Hallucinate clone too which makes it a good item to have.
If you think your Two-Shiv Poison slow is not good enough I recommend you going for Frozen Mallet it give you decent AD and gives you 500 health which in my opinion helps a lot and it also gives the enemies that dangerous slow debuff.
Other items you can go for is Madred's Bloodrazor if they got have of health.
*For Those Lazy to read:*
Enemy High Health = Madred's Bloodrazor
Enemy Medium-low Armor = Black Cleaver
+100 ad + some life steal at full stacks (40 minions without dying)= Bloodthirster
+500 Health + very strong slow = Frozen Mallet
mobility, crit chance, attack speed from Zeal + Sheen proc, mana,AP + slow and health and some AD from Phage = Trinity Force
Free revive every couple of minutes after death + armor = Guardian Angel
Block enemy spell every 45 seconds, some mana and health, and MR(magic resist) = Banshee's Veil
+80 Ad,gives crit damage increase, and crit chance increase = Infinity Edge
Enemy very high armor, some atk damage, = Last Whisper
atk speed, movement speed, crit chance, pushing lanes = Phantom Dancer

XIII. Jungle 5v5

XIII. Jungle 5v5

Back to Table of Contents

You could start with blue buff by placing 4 JITB(jack in the box) in the bush of the blue buff. Have your team watch for enemies trying to invade you for a early first blood or a buff steal. Have your team leash into the bush. Wolves first only if you have a better level 1 team. Follow with wolves then smite big wraith, try to gank, if none, golems, then red, then repeat and gank whenever the other team is pushing.

Black Cleaver 3000
Wit's End 2800
Banshee's Veil 3100
Basically get boots or cloth and pots then get a madred razor then a wriggles to get a easier dragon. Then get boots of mobility for just clearing faster and for ganking more. Sheen and tri force for staying on the target and doing more damage. The black cleaver for reducing armor or get a last whisper if they have a lot of armor. Then wits end when you focus their AP carry, banshee or guardian angel for survivability.

XV. Team Work

*IMPORTANT*
To get lot's of kills you must work with your teammates on who to gank. I usually like going bot cause I can deceive over the Red Buff Wall and outnumber the other top player fast and end up getting kills or assist. I think you should gank right when you have push your minions to their tower and setup to gank top. In 5v5 ganking top or mid to get rid of a summoner spell is good, if you decide to go bot ask your bot to try get rid of their summoners first.

XVI. Warding/Oracles

XVI. Warding/Oracles

Back to Table of Contents

Warding you should be able to handle when you get your wriggles you can either ward dragon with it or ward red buff or enemy jungle with it whichever you want, but make sure you at least ward the other one with a jack in the box at all times in 3v3 eg. if you ward red buff with wriggles then put a jack in the box at dragon. Oracle's Elixir & Vision Ward are a pain in the neck they reveal shaco's stealth so you can't creep up to the enemy. I would go for an oracle in 3v3 if your team doesn't have someone like Garen or Malphite or if you think that they have some Vision Ward so you can easily destroy those and if they have an Oracle's Elixir hopefully your team can help you gank that person. In 5v5 get your support or tank to buy an oracle. Your support should take care of the wards.
  • Grey box, ward with sight ward, Vision Ward, Jack In The Box
  • Black box, stack Jack In The Box for escaping, stopping ganks, or for baiting and trapping.
  • Orange circle, put Vision Ward against Akali, Shaco, Twitch, or other stealth champions, or a sight ward
  • Red circle, should be warded with Vision Ward or sight ward BEFORE NEXUS TURRETS ARE GONE.
  • Green circle, ward with sight ward for more vision.
  • Yellow circle, ward with Vision Ward or sight ward to warn you when people are trying to flash or rush your nexus,IF NEXUS TURRETS GONE, SHOULD BE WARDED AT ALL TIMES..
Priority
1.Yellow Circles(late game, nexus turrets gone)
2.Red Circles
3.Grey Boxes
4.Black boxes
5.Orange circles
6.Green circles
7.Yellow circles(early game)
