Hello everyone, and welcome to my Skarner build :D! I've been playing this champion for a while and I feel this build will be very useful. The one thing I love about him is that you can pretty much build him anyway. In this particular instance, I build him as an off-tank that can effectively help your team (: Criticism is greatly appreciated.
Pros / Cons
Not really focused in team fights
Really good in team fights
His Crystal Slash is really good for escaping
Barely any damage output early game *
Runs out of mana quickly
Runes / Masteries
Greater Mark of Insight
I choose this rune simply because his abilities Crystal Slash and Fracture are not that useful early game. These runes help him deal significant early damage.
Greater Seal of Clarity
If you've ever played Skarner before you'll notice that he is a spam-able champion. Early game he eats mana really well. This rune should help with early mana problems.
Greater Glyph of Potency
This rune is simply for more AP damage as you will not be getting any AP items early in the game.
Greater Quintessence of Fortitude
This is pretty self-explanatory, health runes to keep you in lane!
For masteries i go 1/21/8 making sure to max essential defensive masteries while still getting awareness for experience. You'll notice I put one point in Cripple because it will help in the utilization with Impale. If those pesky champions overextend near your tower, just ult them and exhaust; it should usually give you early kills :D
Probably one of the best summoner spells for Skarner. Using exhaust is very effective for chasing champions with low health and dragging them back towards your team with Impale. Utilizing your ult to pull champions into towers is very effective with exhaust as it usually does guarantee kills (:
Flash is an escape mechanism for Skarner because he is very slow. This summoner skill can also be used to position yourself and pull enemies towards your team.
I max this first because it's very effective for last hitting and if used correctly it becomes a slow (:
This is the second thing I max out because of it's usefulness. Crystalline exoskeleton helps Skarner take down towers faster and is a very good escape mechanism providing extra movement speed and armor.
Fracture isn't that great, but the fact that it gives you health is awesome. Fracture in conjunction with Crystal Slash gives you health back immediately. Loving the AOE abilities (:
THIS SKILL RIGHT HERE, IS SKARNER'S DEADLIEST SKILL. I can't explain the satisfactory feeling of pulling unsuspecting champions into your turret. This skill is an awesome skill to initiate with pulling the enemy team into your own team.
Early game I start out withCloth Armor, threes and one.
The next time you recall you should turn your cloth armor intoAegis of the Legion for maximum defense.
This is the second core item you should start building into.Ionian Boots of Lucidity gives you cool down reduction and is useful in conjunction with your passive.
Sunfire Cape; your first step to becoming gay!:D By now you should be a little more bulky and staying in lane more. The sunfire cape is really effective with Your text to link here...'s slow, draining a lot of health!
By mid game you're somewhat bulky enough to buildHextech Gunblade to deal some damage (: and it's active is just overall amazing.
Right now you have a choice betweenGuinsoos Rageblade orFrozen Mallet. The Rageblade gives you both AD and AP and uses stacks to increase attack speed and ability power. The FM gives you AD AND a whopping 700 health to add to your off-tanky-ness. Physical attacks with the mallet reduces movement speed. Either way, both items will help you stay with the enemy and make you become an effective chaser :3
To complete your gayness,Guardian Angel is the way to go. This item gives you even more armor and magic so it'll be really hard to kill you.
Like I said, Skarner is a very flexible champion that can be built any way, just have fun with it (:
All champions take some time to get used to, but I really recommend playing Skarner (: the key with Skarner is patience, you must wait for the enemy to come to you! Good lucky and have fun :D
Please give me feedback as this is my first guide! Does anyone know how to make the images smaller?
