Items

I start off with the Dorans Blade because you need the health and the damage. This is good for getting firstblood. I don't buy dorans shield because your passive will heal you much and you wil loooove it so much later on.

Next i buy boots for a quick Rabid Bite.
Brutalizer really helps your damage output and can be a lifesaver because of the CDR.
I buy Mercury's Treads for a quick getaway with the Tenacity
I get Frozen mallet next because it really ensure that they can't escape especially with Contaminate.
Then Sheen for a great double damage after Rabid Bite.
Next i get Phantom Dancers for movement and attack speed.
I upgrade my Sheen to a Trinity Force for the bonus movement and health. From now on i go defensive with a Banshees Veil so you won't get stunned and end up in bad situations.

If you get a great start with a good score like 4-1 it would be a good idea to get Wriggles Lantern, mostly because of the lifesteal but also the armor. The items ability (ward) should be used at either Dragon or Nashor.

Abilities

Pillar of Filth:


Try use Pillar of Filth so it will block the enemy and not yourself.

I marked out some places where it is a great idea to use Pillar of Filth to ensure getaways:

1. Use Pillar between the trees, but make sure you know what way the enemies will run. This can also prevent Juking (this will not block but is useful because of the slow, so bear in mind which way you want to go to get the longest slow duration)

2. Place Pillar on the marked places to easily escape enemies, but always make sure you place it behind you so you won't get blocked by yourself. If you are following the green line place the pillar at the black spot. If following red line place it between rocks. (this will not block but will make the enemy take a longer way around the corner (in slow)) Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]

3. This brush is the best place to lay the Pillar, because it is easy to block the enemies,
its close to turret and the enemies have a long way around to catch you but by that time you will be over the hills. (will block enemies (if placed properly))

4. Plant the Pillar at the entrance you just came from so it will block the right way and not cause you problems. (can block but its hard)

5. This place will NOT block but the enemies have to walk in the mud so they will get slowed plant it between the trees and the rock.

Oh. And i forgot an important place on the map! It is at the entrance to the river between the red buff and the Wraiths. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT PLACE SO REMEMBER IT! (this can ensure a clean getaway. Its hard to misplace and the enemies will eventually give up on you) Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]

Contaminate:
If you are using Contaminate to get away/hunting champs use it as far away in front of you so you get a longer speed duration.

If you are using it for Attacking remember that it only Contaminate one place so the enemy can just run off it so you won't get the bonusses. Use it first when you are in head to head fight.

This can also be a good combo with Pillar of Filth. While trying to escape plant the Pillar
and use contaminate for the Tenacity so your block doesn't get wasted.
Rabid bite:
The Rabid Bite is a great ability to max first because it gives you lots of damage and reduces the targets. Rabid Bite can you forward the target champion. (This is a minor effect but can make you intercept easier) Another thing about Rabid Bite is that its duration is longer than the Cooldown so use it as much as you can when fighting champions. However if the target is a minion down use it all the time, because then your mana is low and you lose your escape abilities.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
Trundle can deliver very high damage in both early game and late game.
He is tough especially in late game.
He has great escape possibilities.
He is great for getting firstblood.
He can hold the lane for a very long time because of his passive.
He is good for last hitting minions.


Cons:
He has no nukes or stuns and have to rely on teammates.
Can't remember anything else xD

Summoner Spells

:
Exhaust is a good idea to get because it can used both offensive and defensive. This will save your life in many situations because of the damage reduction and armor reduction.

:
Ghost is really not necessary because you have Contaminate but if you are more comfortable with Ghost than Flash take Ghost. Also for the smaller cooldown.

:
Ignite is a good spell too and is essential versus champs like Mundo and others with high HP regen and Lifesteal/Spell Vamp. Good idea too.

:
Flash is Great in almost all situations from escapes to intercepts. Though this abilty comes with a high prize, it's 300 second cooldown, if you waste it you really dont have any options.

Masteries

Okay i have two recommended Mastery build.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us]This is the mastery build for being tougher and in my opinion is the best. Because of the armor and magic res. you will be able to hold out in teamfights much longer, so you won't get focused in the first place.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us]This is the mastery build for holding the lane for a longer duration. If you take these masteries you will be able to hold out much longer, because of the mana regeneration. This is also good to give your enemies a surprise after you've been back shopping.
