Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is my first build. I am still trying to adjust and get used to how to make these builds.
(Keep in mind that English is not my first language, so please bear with me)
To play Olaf, you must either play as an up front, aggressive, daring, tower diver. Or you can play a tanky, AoE CC champion.
Late Game Olaf is decepitvely strong and with about 50% health is a friggin' beast =D
For Runes I would take Armor Pen, Armor and MR Seals, Mana Regen Glyphs, and Flat Health Quints on the DPS build.
On the Tank build, you can alter the rune build slightly, but I usually keep the same build.
For Masteries, I go 21/0/9 for the DPS build. I get the exhaust mastery because I take the summoner spell. I go in utility because Olaf requires a lot of mana during the laning phase.
On the tank build, I go the same offensive build on the DPS build. But instead of utility points I go defense for the armor and MS.
Get Boots first for extra move speed. This will help you get into your lane faster. Take 3 health pots for more durability. When you go back, get Berserkers Greaves and a Phage. Constantly farm and try to get kills for the first 10-15 minutes of the game. Then pick up a Frozen Mallet to get some CC and health. Then get a Phantom Dancer for the extra AS. At 20-30% health, you will have about 1.750 AS with the PD. By this time your AS is good, but you need more AD. Pick up a BF Sword and build it into a Black Cleaver. If you would like, you can get the Bloodthirster before the BC, but your W ability gives you lifesteal already. With full stacks on Bloodthirster you can achieve the maximum of 410 AD! Then finish it off with another Phantom Dancer.
The tank build is somewhat similar. Get Berserkers Greaves first and then get the Mallet for tankiness. Once you get those two items, pick up the Atma's Impaler. The passive corralates well with your W. After you get that get a Warmog's. The extra health is big boost. Once you get that get a Banshee's Veil and a Bloodthirster.
I take Exhaust because I feel that Olaf doesn't have enough CC. It helps in fights also.
I take Ghost because besides his Ultimate he has no escape or chase ability.
Olaf should always initiate with his Q. If you don't initiate, then honestly it is kind of a waste. During a team fight, you should be in the middle of the fight. Use your passive to your advantage. Constantly abuse your Q and E. Don't forget to use W when it's up and during a big 4v4, 4v5, or 5v5 fight use your Ultimate.
So this is my build guys, I have poor grammar so please excuse that.
Please offer any suggestions or if you have any opinion just leave it in the comment section down below.
Remember this is my first build so don't hate guys =D
