This is my first guide, ever.
However I am a very adept moba player....I played DotA for years and started LoL like 9 Months ago.
I write this guide...because i felt about Yorick like most people:
OMGZ YE A NECROMANCER....Ima have IMBA creeps-zombie-rapists and have an undead army
This feeling quickly changed to:
OMGZ dis Yorick suxxx....ghost die in 2 secs and dont even do damage!
I played Yorick quiet a lot and all times i kept sucking early-mid game...and improved slighty too end but all around...not too great.
So finally I found a Way to play him that is reaaaally scary effective:
-(very) Hard to kill
-lots of dmg
-Easy Skill spam
so here it goes :)
So What is the main issue with Yorick?
He needs to get strong and kinda tanky....but so his creeps.
As the only think that ghouls benefit from are raw DMG and raw HP, that is what we want!
To have an easy earlygame we try to get Tear asap...this enables us to get a nice lane control with "E". Because we can spam skills, we will easily get lots of mana for manamune dmg and dont have to worry about mana any longer from midgame one.
As Ghouls have to survive some time....you will want lots of HP in a single Item, because we need most slots for DMG, MR or Armor...thus we try farming well to make a Warmogs viable.
Full manamune and Full Warmogs (with atmas) will give us huge amounts of RAW DMG...which is exactly what we need for our Ghouls....Crit= ********, ias=********, on hit effects=********
To get tanky....HP is not enough...it fits perfectly that Atmas gives us some nice Armor...
And Banshees veil improves both damage sources; atmas and Manamune, and furthermore gives us much needed Magic resistance.
The last Item is really up to choice...do you want your RAWWWWW damage to go uo through the roof? Get Bloodthirst (best raw damage out there). You wanna get almost unkillably tanky and resurrect yourself twice?? Get Guardian Angel.
I like to start out with E.... until late in game it is really hard to hit your Q....therefore it is more beneficial imo that you get E more often...although often i get 2-3 levels of E and then proceed to max out Q. Just remember to have at least 1 skill point in W so you can slow.
Creeping / Jungling
Yorick can get through Jungle Route very early in quite a nice speed.
Around level 5-6 I oftentimes get some creeps (at least blue, which is VERY beneficial for Yorick). I mainly use Q and E whenever their cooldown is up...it seems the best compromise between damage and mana-saving....W is not so effective dmg wise.
I dont care too much about Runes tbh...
Obviously give him what he needs in the best amount you have...
Mainly HP and RAW DAMAGE ;)
And everything that helps you stay alive or to physical dmg
I hope that you liked the guide...i dont put any emphasize on playstyle, strategy or anything...because i dont really know yet how yorick fits into a real team...however the item and skill build seem REAAAALLY effective for him this way.
I tried things like Trinity or other builds poeple suggested....but between you and me...most builds suck for him. Trinity is aweful on him for the money and Ghouls almost dont benefit at al from it.
Just try it!
You wont regret it.
