How to: Wifesteal with Thresh
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is my first guide, so if you feel something is wrong or you have something better in mind about Thresh, give me a feedback.
Thresh is a Support, usually played as a tank or an off-tank.
He has very good initiations, no matter his lane. He can save his carries from difficult situations and has much CC (=Crowd Control, such as slows, stuns, knock-backs, etc.)
I would suggest taking Defence scaling runes, I don't really like gold per second runes.
As I said before, any feedback, negative or positive, is welcome. You need some early armor from runes, since you are not gonna have any armor/level, and the only source of armor is passive.
Every support needs to:
1)Look After his ADC
2)Help his carries secure kills by using his CC properly
3)Help his carries run away from a difficult situation, which is especially easy for Thresh since he has his lantern.
and, most of all
That's why he HAS TO BUY a sightstone early. NO ONE wants to waste 75g for every single ward.
It's the best warding technique. In early-mid game, it's one of the best ways to protect your teammates from deadly enemy initiatons that might cost your inhibitor/Baron, or even cost the whole game.
Late game, most sell Sightstone in order to buy something more tanky, such as Randwin's Omen or Guardian Angel.
Usually, though, if you follow your carries at late-game pushing, you won't have an armor issue, since every soul grants much.
You also don't need to buy any ap, for the same reason.
No supports buy AP
WTF im I saying?
Sunfire Cape helps a lot, during Teamfights. Usually you are in the centre, or just trying to defend your ADC/APC. YOU MUST BUY this, it will damage a lot and you won't even understand it.
I buy Locket of the Iron Solari, but I usually sell it at late-game.
It provides Magic Resist to nearby teammates and also grants a small shield to each one, if needed.
Never build AD Thresh, it can't carry, trust me.
I always buy boots for MR at Tank-Supports, so I get less CCed.
I wouldn't sell the support item, it helps a lot at pushing, and stacks well with your passive.
NEVER FARM WHEN YOUR ADC IS NEAR!
That's really serious, people, usually at very low ELO, just take the farm from their carries, and just say "stfu noob" when they complain.
It's laughable, I know.
Follow teammates in order to gain gold and experience, as well as stacks at your passive. In early-game, stay near minions for the same reason.
A nice combo for thresh usually is:
, catch an opponent, before jumping in throw at your teammate to follow up(that's optional, usually use it when ur teammate is very far away from the target)
Press Q again, then use , or if you want to go all-in, use before E
To sum up, Thresh can initiate in a teamfight, save his ADC, CC literally EVERYONE, secure kills, tank everything and so on. I would totally reccomend him as a support, because he has everything a carry needs.
1) A shield
2) 2 slows'
3) A lantern that can bring anyone near him
4) A girl in his lantern.
Never support lucian, remember, you stole his wife.
