Standard Build

These items are designed for most enemies, and since you are Master Yi, you will also be able to solo baron fairly quickly after you are almost full build. Once you get your Vampiric Scepter, exchange your Titanic Hydra for a Ravenous Hydra.

Skirmisher's Sabre - Devourer
This item is what makes fighting Master Yi one vs one nearly impossible. This item grants attack speed, magic damage on hit, and a free extra hit which combo's well with his passive.

Berserker's Greaves - Furor
This makes escaping Master Yi's clutches even harder than before. Increased attack speed with bonus movement speed makes escaping him nearly impossible. Once hit, Furor will kick in and now the enemies will be lead to their inevitable demise.

Guinsoo's Rageblade
Currently the most broken item in the game. Let's use it to our advantage. This item grants bonus attack damage and attack speed. With this item's passive and low price, it is a must on Master Yi.

Titanic Hydra
This is the item that will make the enemy cry. With this combined with Rageblade, your power can never be matched. This will provide you the tankiness you need to survive team fights and bursts of damage, while still out damaging your enemy. This will also provide you with an easy baron solo.

Blade of the Ruined King
Providing extra attack speed and sustain this item can help catch those speedsters and delete those tanks. With its passive of doing 6% of enemies current life on hit, it is also a must.

Bloodthirster
While providing an extreme amount of sustain this item will cause you to do overpowered damage to your enemies. This is your final item as it is not extremely needed.

Situational Build

Black Cleaver
When going against a tank use the standard build. You will still delete tanks fairly easily with the amount of true damage you have. Black Cleaver is only needed when against a team full of tanks or super tanks. Black Cleaver will replace Bloodthirster.

Mercurial Scimitar
When going against champions with crowd control use the standard build. You are an assassin trained in the arts of knowing when to engage. Learning when to engage is the first step to being the perfect Yi. Sometimes that is not enough and that is when Mercurial Scimitar is there to help. This item is best bought last or second to last. This item will be great to counter strong crowd control abilities such as Malzahar's or Warwick's ult. Do not rely on this item to be your savior. This item will also replace Bloodthirster.

Abilities & Usage

Double Strike
This is Master Yi's passive. Every few strike Master Yi strikes twice. This passive is extremely good when combined with Guinsoo's Rageblade and Skirmisher's Sabre - Devourer.

Alpha Strike
This is Master Yi's Q. Master Yi teleports across the battlefield dealing damage and the cooldown is reduced with every basic attack. This is the ability that will make all enemies fear you. With the attack speed provided by your items, you will be able to use your Q about every few seconds. This ability can be used as a gap close and if time perfectly waste an enemy flash. It could also be used to dodge skillshots, which could potentially save your life.

Meditate
This is Master Yi's W. Master Yi heals overtime. Pretty standard right? Well, Master Yi's meditate could easily be your savior and enemies doom. When jungling take this second and meditate before every monster. This will make jungling a lot easier while not wasting too much time. You could use Meditate to cancel your auto attak animation which will allow you to land an extra hit on the enemy which will be useful in close fights. Now Meditate's second ability is what makes it so strong. You take reduced damage when meditating. This could easily save you from global ultimates or finishing blows.

Wuju Style
This is your tank deletion ablity. Use before entering any fights including jungle monsters. This combined with your Red Buff and Smite will make enemy tanks weap. All of these things will make you do a lot of damage over time not to mention make most of damage TRUE DAMAGE. This is what will ensure your kill on the enemy.

Highlander
This is your main gap closer and what makes you the master. Same with Wuju Style use before entering fights. With the speed, go for either the closest enemy to you or the enemy's squishes. Thing to remember is that you can never be afraid to use your ult in fear that you will waste it. ALWAYS USE IT!

Masteries & Runes

Masteries
Why Fervor of Battle? Simple, It stacks two at a time for melees and with your attack speed you will have a bonus 100 damage per basic attack at max level. You would hit a bonus of 800 and higher of true damage every second. Fervor + Rageblade + Devourer + Double Strike + Wuju + Red Smite + Attack Speed. Suck on that Thunderlord's Decree .

Runes
Flat Armor + Flat Magic Resist for extra sustain and survival. With Flat Attack Damage runes and attack speed for extra damage.

Teamfights

Teamfights
These are where Master Yi shines. In a team fight he is second to none in getting a Pentakill, maybe Katarina. As Master Yi target the AD Carry unless under the condition of another laner is extremely fed and not tank. If this condition is not met target ADC --> Mid --> Jungle or Support --> Top. Top is last as they are most likely the tank.

Joining Team Fights
When joining a team fight decide whether if the team fight has been already decided, If you win the team fight follow the order of attacks above and come from the back. If you have already lost the team fight, Recall (optional & circumstantial) and regroup with your remaining teammates.

Leaving Team Fights
If you are leaving a team fight you are most likely low or trying to escape the already decided battle. However, the battle might not be decided yet. If these requirements aren't met recall and regroup. Requirements: Are you full or above 3/4s on health. Do you have ult? Are two or three enemies lower than a quarter? Finally is it endgame or are you fed? If all yes, it is time to assassinate. Find the squishes and go. Make sure to dodge and skillshot CC and clean up. Your job is done and you deserve a pat on the back.
