Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello all and welcome to my first guild on MOBA. I have been using this site and playing LOL for some time now and I have just recently joined to try my hand at building a guild. Since the start my favorite AP has had to have been Veigar. He is annoying. Right down to his voice and all the way to his ult. Veigar is a heavy hitter to be sure but where I fell in love with him was when I realized he is a gear jammer. I don't know how many times I have lost matches due to poor teamwork. And that is where Veigar shines. Raining dark matter and jabbing champs from range all while choosing where and when the enemy fights is what he is meant for. So without any more delay I will explain my Veigar to you.
Greater Mark of Insight: I use these to assure that no matter who you are shooting at you are hitting them to their core and not bunch or MR.
Greater Seal of Potency:With a champ like Veigar all AP is welcomed.
Greater Glyph of Potency:Here you will get more AP for your buck. And it will show early game.
My pick is pretty straight forward with it. It is actually the one I have seen Tehbatdad use and I have taken to using it on all my AP mage types because it just works. So I will give credit where credit is due and tip my hat too the man who built this section. GJ Tehbatdad!
This is where I see me diverge from the common Veigar. You may be looking at it and saying, "Wth? There is no way that could work." I have used it and come to fall in love with it. This won't be your hardest hitting Veigar. Nor will it rack the kills up with your god burst damage. This is a Veigar that will never leave lane. He will be a constant dancing shadow raining artillery dark matter and throwing cages around the map left and right. THIS IS A SUPPORT VEIGAR
Let me say that once more.
THIS IS A SUSTAINED SUPPORT DPS BUILD
You will play cautious as always until you have enough for Hextech Rev. Now you are in business. The passive for Veigar is enough that he never really needs Mana Reg. If you dont like waiting for the passive then buy some Mana Reg. and slow the build. When you come about WoA you are doing well with AP and you can focus on your normal AP build for late game Veigar. I like magic pen. so I will change up and slide a Void Staff before my Rabadon's but it is up to the game and the player. You will be a little confused by the lack of punch power on this build but he shines with his Spell Vamp. The danger of Veigar is getting in to land that ult. Or jab them with your Q. With WoA you trap the team and snipe the enemy AP carry and absorb so damage because of it. But with this handy book you are coming out looking like you just walked from Base at full health and plenty of sustainability to take on a tank.
I like to build Veigar's Q and feed it early and often. There is never a time you shouldn't be last hitting with your Q. Even if it's picking off some minions on your trip to a team fight. AP is AP and Veigar gets that mana back before you realize.
Next to build is your cage. Your E is going to be what people truly fear about you. Nothing spells your doom like seeing that circle fall right on you and Veigar coming out of the FoW to nuke you. The only thing that trumps that is him and his buddies.
Dark Matter is important and should be taken early but built fully late. It gives the element of surprise to have it fall soft early and then the big game changing fights to be the hammer that crashes down. When they realize the monster you have become it will be too late. This is a factor few consider.
he role this champ will be filing is AP carry that is king of choice. He chooses who you fight. Where you fight. When your team should engage. When the enemy should retreat. When the fight is over. All of it will be up to you. Back in your comfy spot in the team fight raining down hard hitting DPS. So give it a try. And be surprised that this game isn't always the champ that gets the most kills. Sometimes its the one who sentences the most to death.
