Hello and welcome to my very first mobafire guide on my all-time favorite champion Rengar. This guide focuses on tanky rengar so if this is not your type of playstyle just tryout other guides.
Also i would like to give a shoutout to TboydSteam, he is my inspiration for this guide and its really helpful.

Pros +
- out duels most toplaners
- great mobility with passive
- manaless
- great sustain
- great followup on ganks

cons -
- has to sacrifice sustain for damage or hard CC for damage
- can easily be poked if lane is shoved (bushes arent close)
- easily ganked pre 6
- wont deal damage if he falls behind

Even though this is a tank Rengar guide the offense tree is much more useful this season and everything you need from defense is taken from the first 9

Hybrid pen marks are required to deal dmg the first half of the game since you are going to max W
armor seals if you are going against Ad (scaling armor if against ap)
Scaling Mr if going against Ad and just like seals get flat Mr if going against Ap
I dont see anything else to get in quints Flat ad helps you later in the game when you really need the dps

These items are great for all around defenses and damage but let me explain each.
Ravenous- you would probably see this item on every Rengar because the bonus damage procs with the cleave and you also get great sustain and an AA reset
Sunfire- great for early armor and health + the dps passive works wonders with your passive and you would generally find yourself sticking with enemies the whole fight which makes it worth the money
Tri-force- this item became famous with Rengar's rework because it focuses more on dps rather than all out damage and it gives pretty much everything you need (As,Q proc,and sticking power)
Spirit Visage- A great mr item which synergizes well with your w heal and also helps against poke with the health regen after getting attacked
Randuins- This item is great for rengar players that dive in on all 5 and likes to disrupt the enemy team with the CC slow. This item is also good against an AA reliant team with the passive.
Viable choices- frozen mallet can be bought to replace triforce but i find the speedboost better than the slow.
Maw can be used to replace visage or triforce if you get bursted by the ap carry but since you are not the primary source of damage this is a rare situation
Botrk is great for sticking power with the active but you wont auto attack enough to make the passive worth it
yomuus if you focus solely on killing the target but triforce has better synergy with Rengar
Banshees is if they have a combo reliant champ such as leb that is getting annoying

Again this is a tanky Rengar build so i max W over Q because the mr, armor and damage is much more worth than 5% increase in AD on the q ranks + you will still use ferocity charged q when bursting your lane opponent but the charged skills now stack with Rengars lvl and not the skill
Max ss obviously just like any champ and e last because its now a skillshot and more used for the lockup than the damage

I dont feel the need to explain this because its what every toplaner gets nowadays i have also tried barrier on rengar but i personally die with a kill than live without one (Greed is good)
