Guide Top

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line...

Look at your team during the loading screen. At least one on these jerks is going to suck. Total n00b. Get over it now.

You'll also notice there's no support, because who wants to support noobs? Probably no jungler either, or if there is he won't be in the jungle. Tanks, yes. Mages, assassins, yes. Probably another carry, who also want the mid.

When the game starts, buy a Dorian's blade and head for the mid. If someone else wants mid, give it to them. But make sure to head to a side where you don't have to compete with a mage for last hits. You need last hits. Trist is totally item dependent. You want to get that B.F. Sword as soon as b.f.ing possible. Good news is, trist is a great farmer. Early on you should get more last hits than everybody else. Later on you should have way more than everybody else. If this is not what's happening, then look at some youtubes on how to farm.

Besides compulsively last hitting, you should try to harass with Explosive Shot. It's one of the most damaging spells early on, and you don't need it minions. At level 2 you can Rocket Jump onto an enemy's and Explosive Shot when you land. Throw in Exhaust and Ignite and you can get some early kills. Just make sure, of course, to only Rocket Jump on an enemy when you have an advantage-- be it life or creeps or cooldowns-- so they're the ones that have to back away when you land. The easiest mistake you can make with Tristana is getting too aggressive early on. Later on Rocket Jump is good for chasing, fleeing, jumping over trees, and a little movement boost leaving town.

When you hit level 6, Buster Shot does great damage and has a low cool down, so go for a kill if you can, and if you can't, fire it anyway. Aside from being another chunk of damage at the end of a combo, Buster Shot is your best multipurpose tool. Use it to:
1)save comrades
2)save yourself
3)interrupt enemy spells
4)knock enemies out of a team fight
5)knock enemies into danger

The Mid Game

At this point, it's clear how the game is going. Turrets are falling. Team fights and ganks are starting to occur. One team is clearly ahead. Yi, or Trynd, or Xin, or Lee, or Teemo, or someone has started feeding like crazy on an OMG n00b.

Is your team ahead? Does nobody really need help? Do you think you can take out that tower in front of you? Can you score another kill on the person you're laning against? Then keep up thte good work. Go for that blood thirster.

No? Your team's not ahead? It's falling behind? Well time to get involved. Figure out who
