Welcome to my Trundle guide.
I will try to be as exact as possible, though out the guide i will explain the following:
BEAR WITH ME THIS IS MY FIRST PROPPER GUIDE!!
FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO MAKE CLEAR THAT TRUNDLE IS NO CARRY AND NEITHER IS HE A TANK.
Trundle can deal alot of damage, and he has a lot of durability, but first of all his job is to split up the enemy team with his Pillar of filth, or bait them on is Contermination zone. Trundle should never be scared to get in a fight. his passive Decompose can give him a big advantage when your team gets a kill, and is especially effective after taking down Baron or Dragon
I will quickly explain my choise of runes.
- Marks - Armor penetration to get higher damage on Rabid Bite
- Marks- Attack damage to get higher damage on normal hits, and to prevent mobs to stand with 3-5 hp.
- Seal - I prefer armor runes for trundle, gives him a more stable jungle.
- Marks - Cooldown reduction over level, because trundle gets no cooldown reduction from items, and he has high cooldowns.
Quintessence For extra movement speed - No argument, just get them :D
- Marks -Only Armor penetration
- Seals - Health over level or base, dont get attackspeed, its not worth it
- Glyphs -Magic resistance (perhaps pr. lvl)
Skill sequence and Explanation
Lets start out with trundles abilities first i'll explain what they do, after i'll explain how and when to use them.
Passive: Decompose - As the description says it "steals" the enemies health, great for when jungeling, it is also kinda op combined with the new jungle. Trundle will almost always have full hp.
--- Best way to use: don't be afraid in a team fight, when an enemy player dies, you will get about 150-400 hp per kill, so if u get focused, you will eventually get your hp back when an enemy player dies.
First ability: Rabid bite [Q]: Steals the enemies attack damage and gives it to trundle, gives a HUGE advantage in a 1 on 1. has a lower cooldown than the time it is active.
--- Best way to use: This ability can be used right after an autohit. So just after u get in your first auto attack on an enemy or creep, use this ability. This will give u a double hit, much simullar to Master Yi's passive. Should be used on their ranged ad carry, or bruiser.
Second ability: Contaminate [W] Grants trundle a "buff" within his circle. Some people use it to get around, because of the great movement speed buff, but i prefer not to because of the big cooldown. (Never know when a fight is going to occur).
--- Best way to use: Use for taking down the jungle much faster, when kiting, when ganging, basically this ability is used any time someting is going to happen, dont use it to early though, they might run out of it.
Third ability: Pillar of Filth [E] Trundle creates a pillar that slowes his enemy, this is trundles main ability when ganging. Takes some time to understand this ability. when ganging i prefer to use it after the enemy has seen me, and has used flash to get away, first then i place the pillar to stop them for good. This ability also pushes the enemy. THIS ABILITY GRANTS ASSISTS!
--- Best way to use: When ganging, make sure u place it just in front of the enemy, so then dont just run around it.
When getting chased place it between you and your enemy to slow them and get away.
When chasing place as if you were ganging.
Just before a team fight it can be used to push forth their ranged carry or some other squishy character, so your team can harass or even kill the target with long range abilities.
Fifth ability: Agony [R] Steals the enemies defensive stats, and gives them to trundle, must be said this ability takes a PERCENTAGE of their defensive stats.
--- Best way to use: Use on a tank or someone else stacking defensive items. This will also make them somewhat squishy, so if trundle pops his ulti on a tank trying to bait, can turn out to be an easy kill.
QUICK NOTE: IF U WANT TO GANG AT LVL 3 TAKE PILLAR OF FILTH AT LVL 3
Smite: is a must when jungeling, even if u can jungle with out it, you still have to use it! (for securing dragon and baron).
Ghost: I like ghost for ganging, and chasing. Especially great to use under turrets to avoid getting kited.
Flash: I think flash is rather useless when playing trundle, since he can run away, and chase with his Contamination zone. But if u are used to having it, then use it as you please.
When ganking lanes there are numerous ways to gank as trundle, all the original from sides, throu bush in lane, from their jungle and so on, pretty standard.
But trundles ganks get really nasty when the Pillar appears, i prefer to use it after they have flashed, so just rush towards them and slow them with red/phage, and let laner CC (if they have any), when the player flashes put the pillar right before him.
If they run into a bush you can put the pillar at the end of the bush to get vision, or try to aim for them to stop them.
Also when trundle ganks a tanky person like Nasus at top, his ultimate will turn nasus squishy, and trundle tanky, so dont be afraid to towerdive if he is low.
When ganking and a person flashes, dont turn around, if you have the masteries and movementspeed runes you will have 411 movementspeed, so you can catch up with most characters.
Start wolves - Dont get a pull here, but maybe some damage from your team.
Go Blue - Get mid to pull the first one, smite it at 450 hp.
Go Wraiths - After wraiths you are still level 2, so you cant gank yet.
Go Golems - After killing golems you can gank lanes, this shouldent take too long, because you need to take red pretty fast. You can also go directly to red.
