Introduction
Welcome to my
Tryndamere guide for soloing the top lane :) This is my first guide so please help me by commenting and rating my guide! If you have any more questions i don't cover in this guide you can message me and i will answer.
Overview of Items
Starting Items
So every game i play with
Tryndamere i ALWAYS start with
Boots of Speed and pick up three much needed
Health Potion .
In the Lane
So in your lane if your last hitting minions and building your rage up you should be getting money fast. And even better if you get a quick kill you can go back and pick up your
Cloth Armor so you can get that extra protection. But if your lane has been back and forth i usually wait till i reach 1000 so i can pick up my
Madred's Razors and start doing more damage unless you managed enough money to get
Wriggle's Lantern so you can have life steal and damage. I pick
Wriggle's Lantern over 2 doran's blades because since your gonna be solo top your gonna need eyes against ganks so that ward that
Wriggle's Lanternsupplies is extremely helpful for preventing ganks on you.
Your Main Items
So at this point you should be reaching the mid game mark and you have already picked up your
Berserker's Greaves and your
Phantom Dancer. So at this point you should be taking advantage of your lifesteal and your attack speed and try to steal your enemy's jungle whenever possible for that extra gold and experience. This will help you build your
Infinity Edge. It doesn't really matter what items you start off with when trying to get your
Infinity Edge but i personally get whatever i have money for.
Late Game Items
So now your reaching the end of the game and everything you do can really effect the result of your match so you need to be careful and work with your team and die as little as possible so make sure you take adavantage of using
Undying Rage and using
Spinning Slash to escape (hopefully through a wall for best escape) and finally using
Bloodlust to gain some health back. But you want to pick up
The Bloodthirster for extra lifesteal and high damage. Okay so this part really depends on how the games going and who your going against. If your going against some players and they manage to somehow always squeeze out of team fights alive you can pick up your
Frozen Mallet so you can still dish out damage while slowing the enemy so either you or your team can finish them off. But if your going against a more tankier team you should go ahead and get the
Last Whisper so you get that armor penetration that is much needed to penetrate their armor and still do damage. I found this setup to be the Most effective build for me and it surely shows in the game.
BTW these items are not set in stone, but i found that this build has pretty much worked form every game ^.^
Pros / Cons
Pros
- Can deal alot of damage
- Can easily chase down champs and escape champs if needed
- Fury greatly increases your chances for critical hits w/o items
- Can slow and decrease enemy's damage allowing teammates and yourself to survive and get kills in team fights
- Has an EXTREMELY powerful ult if used correctly
Cons
- Can easily be harrassed by a good ranged champion
- Can be hard to use ult if enemy team has alot of burst damage
Summoner Spells
Exhaust
I find this spell very much needed not just by
Ignite
I always have this spell equipped when i have
i haven't really experimented any other spells but i didn't really find
Abilities and Techniques
Battle Fury
I find it is a MUST to have either close or full fury at all times just because it does SOO much extra damage that it is pretty much necessary to have at all times. A skilled
Bloodlust
When using this skill it is key to use it at the right times because of the cooldown it CANT be spammed. If you don't need it don't use it, simple as that. One time that is always is a must time to use it is if you use
Mocking Shout
This ability is GREAT for chasing down champions and reducing their damage output on you or teammates. I also use it as a safety ability because you can go near bushes and use it to detect if an enemy is hiding inside it for an ambush. very useful ability ^.^
Spinning Slash
This ability really isn't a way to deal damage (thus the reason its leveled last) but more of a way to catch up to a enemy champion or to escape ^.^ This ability is like a flash because you can go through walls and use it to escape.
Undying Rage
When using this ability you have to use it at the right time because if you stall it can mean death for you and if you do it to early then by the time they get your health down it was useless to use it. so be smart when using it! Sometimes it can be an exception to use it early because you just might need that extra fury to get the kill or whatever your doing.
Runes
| Runes | |||||||||||||||
Greater Seal of Armor 9 |
Greater Mark of Critical Chance 9 |
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction 9 |
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed 3 |
||||||||||||
Ok so my reasoning behind my runes are pretty simple...
Greater Mark of Critical Chance
Tryndamere greatly requires his critical hits so that's why i found it completely necessary to have runes to add to that critical hit chance. Giving him that edge over other carries, thus winning the game for you.
Greater Seal of Armor
I choose armor runes for tryndamere not to make him tanky, more for the early game when you usually would take a lot of minion damage or from an enemy champion. This added armor decreases some of the damage taken and helps you sustain your lane more without having to go constantly back buying health potions.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction
Probably pretty controversial depending on how you play tryndamere but i find that cool down reduction runes are very handy. Plus as i said earlier since we wont be packing flash we rely on
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed
I have these runes just for that extra speed to help in certain situations. Helps in the situation above ^.
Ability Sequence
So my reasoning behind my ability sequence is that you need your
Masteries
Not to much to explain but put your stats in offense first.
Farming
If your soloing top lanethen you should ALWAYS last hit minions so you get lots of gold <3 haha but if you aren't good at it get better and practice because the better you are at farming the better you will be late game when you have your full build and people are still trying to farm. Then your able to go and gank people that split off and try to farm minions. So the better you farm the better you'll be :) but sometimes you'll go against a
Kennen or someone who keeps you pushed back from the minions not allowing you to farm:'( in that case you'll have to tough it out and just hope you can get good ganks from your jungle to help kill him so it makes up for all the gold you've been missing out on. But once your level 6 you can effectively kill ALMOST every champion with the right skills used at theperfect times. ALWAYS take advantage of your
Undying Rage, that literally is your god mode and used wisely you should rarely ever die. So try to master all his skills fast and you'll be unstoppable. BUT DON'T BE COCKY! iv'e played games where i was cocky and gave away kills to the opposing team just because i wanted a kill, unless its a 2-1 trade out its not really worth it. But that's not always the case and maybe you just needed to shutdown someone, its all judgement.
Who to be careful around
Laning against
Kennen and
Irelia can be difficult so try to avoid match ups against them but if you do then just be careful. Other champs to be a little wary of are
Garen,
Gangplank,
Lee Sin, and
Pantheon. Good luck in your lane and hopefully you found this guide helpful! :)
