Hi, this is my Tryndamere guide. I have heard Tryndamere called many different things, good and bad. Some of these include the following; great champion that is well designed, easy to play, only for noobs, bad hero with a crutch ultimate. Some of these are true. This guide has a jungle and laning tryndamere build. I hope that this guide is helpful and fun to use.
Runes and Mastery Choices.
Well my masteries are pretty simple 21/0/9, pretty standard. My jungle is also 21/0/9 but with some varying mastery choices. My runes for laning are good for early and late game, but slightly learn towards the late game. My jungle runes are very much for early game because you need that to succeed in jungling tryndamere. For my laning runes, I take armor pen quints and reds because armor pen is a very important stat for pretty much all ad characters. I take critical damage yellows because a lot of Tryndameres damage comes from his critical strikes. Finally, i take attack speed blues for 1 on 1 and teamfights so you can just lay waste to the other team. For my jungling runes I take attack speed reds and blues so i can get maximize my auto attacks to get lifesteal from. Armor yellow so I have survivability in the jungle, and armor pen quints cuz they are good.
There are many differet builds you can use on Tryndamere. I chose the 1 i use most of the time, and my jungle build. The item choices dont vary by much, so i will just talk about the laning items. I start with boots and 3 health potions because the early movespeed can be the difference between getting first blood or losing it. You can also start with brawlers gloves and 2 health potions, its pretty good aswell. The next items i get are b.f. sword, berserkers greaves then infinity edge. I get b.f. sword before boots 2 because with boots 1 and spinning slash you should be able to get out of situations when you need to. I get infinity edge as my first big item because it is so good from Tryndamere, it gives crit chance, crit damage and ad. All of these things are great for trynd! The next items i get are phantom dancer, blood thirster, youmuu`s ghostblade and last whisper. I make sure to get phantom dancer and blood thirster before youmuu`s and last whisper. Phantom dancer for the crit and movespeed, blood thirster for the lifesteal and damage, youmuu`s for the active and various other stats, and last whisper for the armor pen.
Skills and Skill Usage
Battle Fury (passive): Tryndamere gains Fury for each attack, critical strike, and killing blow he makes. Fury passively increases his critical strike chance and can be consumed with his Bloodlust spell.
This passive is very good in my opinion. The crit chance is just incredible and tryndamere's old way of using Bloodlust to get health wasn't as good as it was now.
Bloodlust: Tryndamere thrives on the thrill of combat increasing his attack damage as he becomes more and more wounded. He can cast bloodlust to consume his fury and heal himself.
This is very nice skill to level up first. It gives you free AD so you dont have to build ad as quickly. It also works in combination with your ult, spin out right as it ends use this and you should get away.
Mocking Shout: Tryndamere lets out an insulting cry, decreasing surrounding champions' attack damage. Enemies with their back turned to Tryndamere also have their movement speed reduced.
This spell is great to chase and use to fight 1 on 1. When chasing, spin into range use this and bash their skull in. In 1v1, utalize its AD reduction to get the upper-hand.
Spinning Slash: Tryndamere slices toward and target unit, dealing damage to enemies in his path.
First off, this skill is kind of misleading saying "target unit". You dont have to target anyone, it works like a skill shot. Next, there are so many things this skill is useful for. You can chase, run away, get over walls, deal damage. Its just so awesome!
Undying rage (ultimate): Tryndamere's lust for battle becomes so strong that he is unable to die, no matter how wounded he becomes.
This skill is what makes Tryndamere Tryndamere. Its such a good ult, with a little gimmick. You stay at 1 hp when using it, so you think you would die right after you use it, but coupled with his other abilities you can get out of some sticky situations.
For tryndamere jungling you can start at a couple different places. You can start at blue, wolves, or small golems. I prefer to start at wolves. When starting at wolves start with a vampiric scepter, kill the wolves w/o smite, go to the wraiths, smite the blue 1, and kill the rest. Then go to the small golems, kill them and go back. While back buy cloth armor and a health potion. Go to blue, kill it (remember to smite it when its low). Then wolves, wraiths, small golems, and red. After that you can gank or go b. When starting at small golems you also start with a vampiric scepter. Kill the small golems, smite 1 when the smite will kill it. Then move to the wraiths, then wolves and go b. Buy cloth armor and a health potion, kill blue (once again smite when its low). The wolves may or may not be up depending on your time, but if they are kill them, if not skip them. You then go to wraiths, small golems, and red. Gank or go b after that. Finally, you can start at blue, I personally dont like doing this because trynd does not need blue to clear his jungle efficiently, but if you want to heres how. Start with a cloth armor and 5 potions. Kill blue (I suggest you get a leash), clear the rest of the jungle in the order of wolves, wraiths, small golems, red. You may need to b after golems, if you do buy a vampiric sceptor or boots and a heal potion. After you kill red go gank. Recap: 1. wolves > wraiths > small golems > back (cloth armor, health potion) > blue > wolves > wraiths > small golems > red > whatever. 2. Small golems > wraiths > wolves > back (cloth armor, health potion) > blue > wolves (if they are there) > wraiths > small golems > red > whatever. 3. Blue > wolves > wraiths > small golems > back (if needed, vampiric sceptor or boots and health potion) > red > whatever.
My favorite spells to take are flash and exhaust, with the exception of smite for jungling. I take flash because its so great for chasing and escaping. Exhaust for the slow and damage reduction, its great for chasing or 1 on 1s. Some other good spells are ghost,teleport, ignite and cleanse. Spells you should prolly stay away from would be heal, revive, clarity, fortify, clairvoyance, and rally. Yes, these spells all have their uses but they dont suit Tryndamere all that well.
