Silver bolts won't help you in a gank, Condemn will.

Silver Bolts is useless unless you can get third hit off, and I know when I face a Vayne unless I am going for an all in fight, I do everything I can do prevent them landing that third hit.

Condemn is also useful at two because it can often put enemy supports in a bad place. I often use Condemn to push enemy melee champs into my tower range, much more useful than a point in silver bolts.

It's ultimately personal preference, but for me it changes every game depending on the situation.

Early levels for W is necessary. I would take 3 points for Silver Bolts and then max Q.
For the guide:

* I see no real reason to go for condemned at level 2 over silver bolts, but okay.
* Masteries are rather strange and don't see real reason to skip health from defensive tree

  • Runes: The core setup for marksmen includes 2x Life Steal Quints and one Attack Damage Quint for more sustain. With the one AD Quint your last hits under turret at level 3 are exactly as easy as with 3 AD Quints. MS and Armor Quints are sub-optimal or even unviable.

I understand the PoV, but I said that I don't have an issue with sustaining because of the mobility that Vayne has. I usually duo with a reliable Janna or Sona, so they can heal up my wounds, meaning I can use damage quints over lifesteal; I already have a heal.

[*]Masteries: They're fine in general but I would leave Double-Edged Sword out and go either 21/9 for more surviveability in lane or 21/2/7 for reduced Cooldowns on my Summoner Spells.

I'm hesitant to use Double-Edged Sword , but the 1.5% damage isn't a huge amount and it probably is better to keep it out. I use it currently and it seems to work.

[*]Summoner Spells: Ignite is a bad choice on Vayne because laning is all about staying alive and farming. Same for Teleport, while Ghost can't replace flash.

" Ghost can be pretty useful at times, but on the whole Flash is better." - First line of Ghost explanation.
The teleport explanation says that it isn't ideal, the other ones above it are better.
"Ignite is a very powerful early game spell on most champions, but not desirable on ADCS, especially Vayne." - First line of ignite explanation.

[*]Starting Items: Get rid of boots start.

"This is the recommended start for Vayne, according to the shop. I personally would never start with these items"

[*]First Back: You'd better finish botrk first and then go for trinity. Anyways, even if this is not the case you should buy Phage first for the bonus AD, Health and Mobility.

With Janna's Tailwind (who I almost always lane with), my Night Hunter boosted by Final Hour and Fleet of Foot, I have no issue keeping up with people. However the bonus 90 physical damage every 2-3 seconds from Sheen is much better than constant 20 AD. I don't really have an issue with survivability early game, though I suppose not everyone reading this has a permanent duo support.

[*]Skills: It is adviseable to max Silver Bolts first in a build where you have more Attack Speed than AD.

"I personally prioritize Tumble over Silver Bolts until I get some attack speed" - First line of what to max. When you are in lane, you don't go back before you have to, and until you go back you have more AD than you do AS.

[*]Early Game and Farming: You mention last hitting but you don't say how it's done. Additionally, you miss some stuff like zoning, lane freezing or the level 1-2 push. The explanations about farming under turret are correct but this yields only after level 3( maybe 2 with the runes you're using)
[*]Teamfighting: A bit lacking. You can add more examples and explanations about how you should be (re)positioning yourself and acting in certain situations.

These bits I agree on, I suppose I slacked off toward the end with the amount of effort I put in. Moving house FTL. However, I've settled now and will revise and improve these sections.

I appreciate the detailed feedback, thanks heaps :)

The guide is good in general but you have some errors that prevent me from upvoting

Specifically:
  • Runes: The core setup for marksmen includes 2x Life Steal Quints and one Attack Damage Quint for more sustain. With the one AD Quint your last hits under turret at level 3 are exactly as easy as with 3 AD Quints. MS and Armor Quints are sub-optimal or even unviable.

  • Teamfighting: A bit lacking. You can add more examples and explanations about how you should be (re)positioning yourself and acting in certain situations.

You also have some other stuff but it's preety much minor mistakes. If you improve, I will upvote.

Nice job! It's kind of short for a guide, but I like your explanations :)

The reason I take Silver Bolts at 9 instead of 10 is because the 5% bonus damage you get from Tumble is probably less than the 10 +1% max hp at the time. 5% of your damage at level 10, if you've rushed Blade of the Ruined King and one of the other items is only going to be about 7-8, whereas the bonus 10 + 1% of their max hp is going to be more than that. Sometimes I even max Silver Bolts before Tumble if I am constantly getting all three stacks off.

Looks pretty good, but I'm confused by the cheatsheet. Am I expected to be able to have 4 full items and tier 2 boots by 25 minutes? o_o

Nah, I explain that lower in the item explanation bit. I don't advise building all of those items, usually Blade + one other. The other is dependent upon the enemy team.

Guide looks nice though :3 But how about Annie as her support? I think it is good if Annie put a good stun then you can easily Condemn the enemy to the wall.

I agree that Annie would work well with Vayne, but as I said, I haven't really played with an Annie support much, so I won't go in to detail about the synergy when I am not experienced in it.When I play with a few I will certainly add it in. Thanks for the +1 :D
