Introduction

Hi all, this is a guide for how to play Darius on Twisted Treeline 3v3. He's a beast on that map and just can't be stopped. Hope you get some good ideas by reading this.

Runes

Go AD reds and quints, armor yellows and magic resist blues. No exceptions.

Masteries

Focus on any damage reduction masteries, this combined with your AD runes gives you a huge early game advantage. You won't have to worry about drawing minion agro.

Summoner Spells

I run ignite and ghost. He gets kited easily so you might need to catch up or escape. Ignite could be replaced by exhaust if you like (a good idea if you're facing someone like jax or teemo who can shut you down for a few seconds).

Skill Sequence

Take Q first, then E, then W so you have all three skills at lvl 3. This will almost guarantee you a kill with your ignite.

After that, R > Q > W > E

Items

Start boots and three pots. With your runes, masteries and these items, it's like you're lvl 2 right out of the gate, buffed on all your main stats. Biggest reason for this is to get in range for your Q and then not let people escape when you have them low.

On TT, first buy should be little madreds, then wriggles. This allows you to push your lane and take jungle camps easily. It's also perfect against all the bruisers you generally see on TT.

I usually get heart of gold early, and then hexdrinker if their team as any AP. If you're laning top vs AP, you could consider getting hex before wriggles to make sure you lane well.

After that, it's up to you. Your priority should be tankiness, so here are some good ideas that you'll have to adapt to your enemies

vs AP
Maw of Mori
Force of Nature
Banshees

vs AD
Atmas Impaler
Randuin's Omen
Frozen Mallet

vs Olaf's troooo damage
Warmogs

vs everyone, you're just dominating
Trinity Force
Guardian Angel

The key is to adapt to what is happening. Buy defensive items to counter their main source of damage. You do plenty of damage already and don't need to be buying garbage like bloodthirster.

Level 1

This is where you strike it big. I think you will know what to do if your team wants to fight before minions spawn bot. Stay with them no matter what.

When it's time to go to lane, head to top lane a bit early and get in the brush on your opponent's side. If they face check, Q and two auto attacks. If they stay to fight, they die. If they run, they're at half health and you have free farm.

If they don't approach, you wait until they come up past you, then walk up to them and Q + auto attacks. Your passive will burn them. Again, if they stay to fight, they die and you get first blood.

All this is to make sure you control your lane. Nobody bullies Darius.

Top lane must push and control jungle

If you lane top, you buy wriggles and you control the ENTIRE jungle. Top and the red lizard. You go to lane, push it all the way to enemy's tower. Then you go clear jungle camps. If the camps are cleared, you go gank. You do NOT stand around and last hit like in 5v5.

Team Work

If you are the beefiest on your team, you must initiate. They'll run when they see you coming, so you have to time it to land your hook.

If there is someone beefier with good initiate like shen or nautilus, let them start the fight and then you come in, ult everyone for the triple kill.
