Introduction

This is my build for AP Twisted Fate. Twisted Fate is a great pusher and his ability to clear creep waves quickly allows him to relieve pressure from other lanes. While AD has its benefits, I prefer AP because of his great burst and ability to deal constant AOE damage instead of AD's single target damage.

Runes

I run Magic Pen. Marks
Mana Regen Seals
Flat AP Glyphs
Flat AP Quints

Alternatives for runes:
Flat Hp Quints: If you want to have more survivability.
Flat Magic Pen Quints: Personally I dislike these because of the little gain you get from them compared to the marks, but if you want more damage towards characters with high base magic resist its an alternative.
Scaling AP Glyphs and Quints: Another choice, more geared towards the mid game dominance which is fine, but I like bullying my opponent so I can free farm.

Masteries

Well the 9 in offense getting the 15% magic pen is a must. The rest go into utility getting improved teleport and flash.
Well you may ask "Why get teleport on a character that already has a built in teleport?"
The reason is the mobility granted by two teleports is annoying to deal with. When your pushing top lane and you expect to get ganked by all 5 of them and you see bottom lane pushed, you have two options 1. Teleport home (lame) 2. Push Bottom (Yeah!) If you chose the second choice then you're doing it right. Then when you expect to get ganked at bottom, teleport home(or top). Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Items

TF only has two core items, Zhonya's Hourglass and Lich's Bane. These are items that synergize with his abilities and have nifty tricks associated with them. Of course if you need to itemize towards the enemy team's composition fell free to change the item build. This is in no way a 100% guarantee insta-win build, its just a build that I've had a good deal of success with.

Explanations for item choices:
1.Dorans Ring: Gives great base stats, (I'm biased towards Doran items sue me)
2.Sheen/Lich's Bane: His low cooldown skills allow him to get the most of this item.
3.Hextech Gunblade: This is here because of the okay stats, but great active. The active increases your burst and can be used defensively and offensively. The lifesteal and spellvamp increase your sustainability and the bonus AD and AP is never a bad thing.
4.Zhonya's Hourglass: The number one core item on Twisted Fate(unless they Nerf it). This is a staple item on TF because he can ult while he activates it, causing him to be immune to disables that would otherwise interrupt his channel.
5.Rabadon's Deathcap: Increases his AP, it's kinda self explanatory.
6.Banshee's Veil: Everyone usually has this item at the 40-50 minute mark, do you want to be the only one without it?

Note*
If you see your enemies building magic resist get a void staff to compensate.

Skill Sequence

TF's skills have great synergy with each other. His Q (Wild Cards) have a high base damage and great range, the only downside is that it's a skillshot that goes in 3 directions. His W is a multi-purpose on-hit spell that applies 100% of his AD and 40% of his . It has three modes gold card is a stun with low base damage, but has a 2 second stun on a 5 second cooldown.
