Introduction

There are a lot of guides our there for Udyr, but not a lot of them are for TT. Because the playstyle is very different on TT, jungling Udyr isn't that great. So this is just a little guide for a laning Udyr. It is by no means a perfect guide. Feel free to try it out.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-Decent farmer (probably duo lane so last-hit steals are expected)
-Great DPS
-Stun
-Natural life steal and mana regen
-Great Tiger Stance Burst (attack speed and extra damage)

Cons:
-Doesn't have an ult (the fourth ability, for this guide, is useless )
-Requires somewhat decent teammates (solo queue is pretty annoying)

Runes

Honestly, you can use whatever you're comfortable with. These are just my recommendations.

This if just to add on to the AS. Helps in early laning stages.

This helps with your passive.

Greater Glyph of Replenishment
You're going to be changing between stances frequently. Yes, it does cost mana.

Just some extra damage.

Masteries

For me, I like to go 21-0-9.

Reason: Offence for, obviously, more damage and utility for the little bit of hp/mana regen, experience, and longer neutral buffs. I like to go down utility because more experience means you will level faster which means you can kill faster.

Items

Beginning:
For starting item, you can go with whatever you like. I go with because it fits well with the current meta game (tanky dps). It allows you to make some mistakes early on because of the health regen.

First return:
On the first run back to the fountain, i like to get and a .

Second return:
Upgrade boots to and madred's to .

After that, you're pretty much on your own to decide how to buy the items in what order.

Remember, sometimes you will need to deviate from this item build and add in some other items (according to what the enemy team presents to you).

Skill Sequence

I like to prioritize , followed by and .

Some people like to use but me personally, I don't find it really useful if you're not jungling. All it does is some small AoE damage on activation, and adds some magic damage for every third attack. For this build, it is not useful because we are not stacking AP items (phoenix stance scales with AP).

Summoner Spells

Choose whatever you are comfortable with. My choices are very offence based. Udyr has pretty good escape mechanisms which is why i don't use ghost or flash.

Summoner Spells to avoid, regardless of Champion (for TT):

This is a viable choice for SR, not TT. The map is small so it won't take long for you to blue pill back to the fountain, and run back.

Do you expect to die?

Might be useful if you're a support but still, not that great.

Summary

Udyr is a very viable champion for TT. However, he relies on good teammates to do well.

He is great at ganking.

He is NOT a tank (although he is tanky).

Just because this isn't a jungling guide, doesn't mean you can't jungle. I cannot deny the fact that Udyr is one of the best junglers in the game. Once the game gets going, don't be afraid to jump into the jungle and pick up some gold/buffs.

Have fun trying out my build. Tell me how it goes. Thanks for your time.
