Hello, summonerlee here. I am here to share my personal experience with Udyr, The Spirit Walker. This will be my first guide any type of feedback either negative or positive constructive feedback will help me refine this guide into a master piece to help shape the Jungler role as Udyr. Let's get started shall we
This is just a rune build I use for Udyr and any of my attack damage champions. It's considered better for junglers than a adc unless you're Draven due to the early strong damage boost since champions even with runes will still not have enough resistence to your physical damage due to it being penetrated. The Seals of Armor and Glyphs of Magic resist are self explainatory. The Quints just add up on the marks of armor penetration so 19 armor penetration early on and through out the game. That way you can focus on getting damage items without worrying about high priorities having alot of armor as much.
I chose my 9/21/0 Masteries for the defense bonus for udyr and to give the standard armor penetration bonus to top on the runes to make the penetration deeper along with a solid defense against neutrals and having a boost to your monster killing by 4 damage, might not seem alot but every damage is worth it.
My items tend to be more situtaional than a sequential build. Reason being is because every match you will go against at least one different champion that has different weaknesses and different strengths. So don't just build the same thing every game always build situtional.
My Skill Sequence is a bit mixed up but you will get the hang of it in a giffy but as I said in notes please tell me if there is something else you suggest. All forms of constructive feedback are welcome.
Flash and Smite, Those are your standard jungle summoner spells flash for positioning and Smite for faster and more clean neutral camp killing. Plus it scales nicely in the game against baron and dragon helping to be a last hit for your team incase your enemies try to steal baron from your team. Same with dragon.
Quickly sum this guide up. Build situtional use your smite when necessary. Flash only when you need to position your gangs more cleanly. Lastly, give me some constructive feedback on what you think of what to add I want this guide to help players play Udyr efficiently as a jungler.
Pros / Cons
Can run fast thanks to bear stance
Passive lends more attack speed if you constantly switch
Can Initiate very nicely
Can Sustain with turtle stance
Can get counter jungled if enemies are smart enough
Tends to be slow naturally with no boots
Needs attack damage to make turtle stance effective
Creeping / Jungling
Start out at blue buff (Ancient Golem) due to cooldown reduction and the enhanced mana regeneration. Than go to wolves, than Wratihs, than Red Buff with smite in handy, Than golems than back up for spirit stone than repeat wolves wraiths and golems until buffs are back up/any lane needs ganged.
When with your team, initiate since Udyr can stun with his bear stance active and switch your stances out and try to dps their team's priority targets down also make sure you feed your adc the kills.
