Introduction

Greetings, I have tried many different builds and this ended up working the best for me. This is not a tank build, nor is it a jungle build. This is a dps/carry build, ideal for laning with support like Sona, Taric, Soraka etc. So please make sure your team is aware that your not the tank!

Summoner Spells

Exhaust is highly useful when playing Udyr, due to his Bear form he is able to stun for a few seconds and catch up to enemies, this ability will guarantee that they can not get away, and it also lowers their armor and magic resistance etc. In a 1vs1 situation its imperative that you have this ability, when used it causes your enemy to miss all attacks for 3 seconds.

Ignite provides the necessary tool to prevent healing and regeneration when trying to focus down a carry. It also provides that last bit of damage you need to score a First Blood! There's nothing more frustrating than an enemy getting away with less than 100 hit points!

Abilities

(Stance) - Activation: On his next attack, Udyr swipes at his target, dealing a multiplier of his attack damage over 2 seconds.
Passive: Udyr's attack speed is increased. In addition, Udyr splits his attacks into 3 lightning fast hits. On-hit effects only trigger off the first hit.

Cooldown: 6 seconds.
Cost: 75 / 65 / 55 / 45 / 35 Mana
Multiplier: 1.8 / 2.1 / 2.4 / 2.7 / 3
Attack Speed: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 %

(Stance) - Activation: Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs damage.
Passive: Udyr's attacks cannot crit, but he restores a percentage of his damage as health and mana.

Cooldown: 6 seconds
Cost: 75 / 65 / 55 / 45 / 35 Mana
Damage Absorbed: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+0.5 per ability power)
Health Restored: 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20 %
Mana Restored: 9 / 10.5 / 12 / 13.5 / 15 %

(Stance) - Activation: Udyr gains increased movement speed for a few seconds.
Passive: Udyr mauls his target with such force that they are stunned for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds.

Cooldown: 6 seconds
Cost: 75 / 65 / 55 / 45 / 35 Mana
Movement Speed: 15 / 18 / 21 / 24 / 27 %
Duration: 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4 seconds

Core Items

Item Breakdown

The Doran's Blade is by far the most cost effective item in the game. You can't turn your head away from 120 bonus health, 6 damage, and more lifesteal. I like to start the game out with at least one, some times two. Obviously as the game progresses you will trade them in for better items, but early on this item really makes a huge difference. (Gold Cost: 435)

You will want to get Mercury Treads for its ability to reduce negative effects on you by 35% and the additional magic resistance. Even though this is a carry build, you still need to survive long enough to dish out the damage! Now if your opponents end up being strictly attack damage based, or have little crowd control by all means get the Ninja Tabi instead! (Gold Cost: 1200)

The Frozen Mallet is Udyr's best friend. It gives a small amount of damage, a ton of hit points, and the best part, is, when you attack someone it's guaranteed to slow them for a few seconds with each successful hit you have. It really is a must have! (Gold Cost: 3250)

The Youmuu's Ghostblade is a great item to add to any dps build. It provides a natural armor penetration, damage, and crit chance.. Whats awesome is when used it increases your attack speed and move speed by a great deal which is perfect for finishing an enemy off, bursting a carry down, or fleeing/catching up to an enemy etc. Now, if they end up rocking a mostly defensive team I would recommend switching to Last Whisper in lue of Youmuu's Ghostblade. (Gold Cost: 2687)

I like to stack more life steal thus creating an even harder carry to kill, and Stark's Fervor is the perfect addition. Combined with your runes, mastiers, and Youmuu's Ghostblade you will end up with a great deal of flat armor penetration, attack speed, and lifesteal. It really works great on Udyr! (Gold Cost: 2550)

The Bloodthirster, Udyr's primary damage dealing item. This little toy starts out adding 60 damage and lifesteal, but with each creep kill it adds more lifesteal and yes more damage. Just watch your enemies struggle to bring you down when you have this! (Gold Cost: 3200)

The Black Cleaver is the finishing touch to this build. It provides a great deal of damage, armor penetration, and just pure nastyness. Combined with the other items you will hit like a truck, and steal all of that damage back with all the lifesteal you have. It really is a nasty combo! This item really helps your team focus an enemy down, rush in with Bear Form, switch to Tiger Form, get 5 stacks lowering their armor by 60, and then switch to Turtle Form to regen all of your lost hp back! (Gold Cost: 3065)
