Introduction
HEY Everyone!!
JashobeamZ Here,
This is my first guide,Build 1 is for 3s
Build 2 is for 5s
i will go over a bit of my strategy in 3s, and 5s. Hopefully this guide will help you out,
and this is my first guide so leave me any feedback you might have.
please be nice!!
Abbreviated terms:
AD = Attack Damage
AS = Attack Speed
AoE = Area of Effect
AP = Ability Power
CC = Crowd Control
DoT = Damage over Time
HoT = Heal over Time
MP = Magic Penetration
Iron Man
Iron Man is Mordekaisers passive ability which allows you to charge shield points which are used to protect your health bar by acting as a soak damage. Take note that the maximum shield points are based on the amount of armor and magic resist you have. So the more armor and MR you have, the larger your soak shield, and the longer you will live. Who can complain with that?!
Mace of Spades
Mace of Spades Charges your Mace and on the next hit Throws 3 additional maces into surrounding enemies. This ability is Great for farming and is useful as an additional damage spike in group battles. However it is the weakest of all your abilities.
Creeping Death
Creeping Death is a defensive and offensive ability. it can be cast on yourself, on allied champions or on allied minions. This ability allows you to stand in the middle of entire minion waves and not only take little to no damage, but build your shield while quickly destroying even multiple groups of minions. if you play defensively it would be wise to cast your Creeping Death on laneing partners or minions, and if you play Mordekaiser aggressively(which in my opinion is the right way to play him) you will almost always be casting this ability on yourself(which you can do by pressing Alt+W).
Siphon of Destruction
Siphon of Destruction is your Bread and Butter, Staple opener of life. If it moves? Shove maces up its ***. the more people it hits the better. Keep in mind that this ability is optimal for building your shield due to its high AoE damage output.
Children of the Grave
Children of the Grave is a strange ult. it heals you with Hot, damages them with DoT, and if they die while its active, you gain a ghost pet of the killed champion that you may control.(Alt clicking while the ghost pet is alive will cause it to move somewhere or attack anything you desire.)
Effective for additional survivability(cast it on the enemy champion with the most health at the beginning of a team fight) or for finishing off the fleeing champions.(works well in conjuncture with ignite.)
OK Items! WHY? ill tell you...
Obviously we will be starting off with
and a
This item is good for the additional armor, Health and Health Regen for the early game. You will most likely sell this item later to help build better armor pieces, but for early game its a good help in survivability.
Next i would go with building my
These are important for chasing down enemies getting away from them more effectively.
many people would go with Sorc Boots however in a 3v3 you will be able to have more survivability, because of the smaller team fights, to live longer allowing yourself to deal more damage without the extra magic pen. Also if you are focusing on Wormog's Armor over Rylai's Crystal Scepter the extra speed will make up for having no CC early on.
However if your teammates have good CC Then you Should take the
After i Have my Boots i will go strait to
This is the most important item for a successful Mordekaiser in 3s or 5s. after boots this will ALWAYS be your first item.
After your sunfire cape it is really a matter of reading the game dynamic. Are you fighting AD? AP? Both?
The answer to that question will really dictate what items you will go to next.
If you are playing a game with an over fed AD character like Trynd, Master Yi, Warwick or champions like that. You will want to go directly to
This item will Shred ANY AD/AS Character you come up against.
If You are Playing a Game with an overpowering AP Nuker, You will want to go with
This item will save you from being eaten alive by Nuke combos, as well as yielding great Health Regen and Additional Movement speed.
Once you've decided which of these items to get its up to you to decide whether to go for damage output, Defense or health.
7 times out of 10 i will go for the
Many people say that you should not get Warmog's if you are playing as Mord, however in playing many games of 3s, i have solo'd trip kills because of Warmogs. True, it doesn't yield the Armor bonus for your shield, but in late game fights you will most likely not max your shield out often enough that it would yield more survivability than the additional 920 to 1370 health that comes from Warmog's Armor. I find the additional health much more beneficial, especially if you find yourself in a 1v1 situation or if the opposing team is spread out enough to evade all getting caught in your siphon.
however if you don't think you need Warmog's Armor,
These two items together are quite the CC Combo. however if you are only going to get one of them i would recommend the Frozen Mallet over Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
To finish it all up i would Build either
Guardian Angel is good if you decide you need the extra Armor and Magic Resist. Also who can complain with a free Res every 5 minutes. Go for Abyssal Scepter if you are having no problems staying alive. Its good for additional MR and it gives you a bit more damage output which is always a good thing.
Obviously we will be starting off with
Doran's Shield
and a
Health Pot
This item is good for the additional armor, Health and Health Regen for the early game. You will most likely sell this item later to help build better armor pieces, but for early game its a good help in survivability.
Next i would go with building my
Boots of Swiftness
These are important for chasing down enemies getting away from them more effectively.

Sorcerer's Shoes.
After i Have my Boots i will go strait to
Giants belt for the extra health to Build into My
Sunfire Cape.
This is the most important item for a successful Mordekaiser in 3s or 5s. after boots this will ALWAYS be your first item.

The answer to that question will really dictate what items you will go to next.
If you are playing a game with an over fed AD character like Trynd, Master Yi, Warwick or champions like that. You will want to go directly to
Thornmail.
This item will Shred ANY AD/AS Character you come up against.
If You are Playing a Game with an overpowering AP Nuker, You will want to go with
Force of Nature.
This item will save you from being eaten alive by Nuke combos, as well as yielding great Health Regen and Additional Movement speed.
Once you've decided which of these items to get its up to you to decide whether to go for damage output, Defense or health.
7 times out of 10 i will go for the
Warmog's Armor next.
Many people say that you should not get Warmog's if you are playing as Mord, however in playing many games of 3s, i have solo'd trip kills because of Warmogs. however if you don't think you need Warmog's Armor,
Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a good alternative especially when used in conjunction with a
Frozen Mallet.
These two items together are quite the CC Combo. however if you are only going to get one of them i would recommend the Frozen Mallet over Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
To finish it all up i would Build either
Guardian Angel or
Abyssal Scepter.

Go for Abyssal Scepter if you are having no problems staying alive. Its good for additional MR and it gives you a bit more damage output which is always a good thing.
the 5s Item Build is Quite similar to the 3s however i would favor a few of the other optional items in the 3s build.
We will be starting off with

If you are playing a game With a half and half or AP Stacked team you should go strait to
This item will Really help attribute to your mid and late survivability.
If You are Playing a Game stacked with AD/AS champions, You will want to go with
This item will help to shred anyone dumb enough to try and solo you, or if they decide to focus you, your Sunfire Cape And your Thornmail together will not help their survivability at all in a team fight.
Once you've figured out which of these items to get its up to you to decide whether to go for damage output, Defense or health.
In an AD/AS stacked team i will try to go directly to
If your Fighting an AP or half and half team i would Just simply skip getting Randuin's Omen.
With my next item i will usually go towards
after this is all taken care of
These two items together are quite the CC Combo. however if you are only going to get one of them i would recommend the Frozen Mallet over Rylai's Crystal Scepter. these are not bad for a couple of last items however if you decide to not get both a good last item alternative can be either
Banshee's veil is good if you decide you need the extra Magic Resist. Also who can complain with a free Spell Block every 30 seconds.
Frozen Heart is good if you are still having issues with AD/AS champions. It Adds to your armor Takes away some of their attack speed, as well as giving you some nice Cooldown reduction.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a good CC item in team fights as well as
Frozen Mallet.

If you play smart and decide what items to get based on your own in game situations, then you will always be more successful, than if you just get the listed items in this or other guides. There are a few items i didn't mention above that may be more useful in certain situations, but you will have to figure those out for yourself, this is just a guide to help you learn the right starting paths for this Champion.
Credit goes out to TheUn4givenRage for being the first and most informative Mordekaiser guide i read out there, and setting me on the path to discovering him for myself. His guide taught me a lot about the game itself let alone Mordekaiser.
