Nothing is finished it's not in order but I thought I'd just make it available as I go as
this may take me a while.I am making some videos and graphics to help further explain
things.

My recent performance

The ultimate Shaco guide including ap, ad, and tank builds, guides as well as an overall guide on how to jungle and lane as shaco. Even if you don't play shaco I hope this guide can help you as it should still give you some tips on how to do certain things and obviously if you hate shaco then read this guide and you will know his every move next time you verse one.

Summoner Spells


-Take smite -.- why are you not taking smite? Take smite.

-I usually always take this as it helps snowball you and your laners
-ew don't take this unless you are very new to shaco and you seem to die a lot
then you might need this while learning though I highly recommend not taking this as you
have you q Deceive
-wouldn't recommend this as ignite is much better and you shouldn't really be
needing this, however if you do well nobody is getting away from you xD
-no. you are tank so no.
-here we go the only other summoner I would actually suggest getting,if your
team already has an ignite or 2(support with ignite) then take this also if the enemy team
has lots of hyper-carries then take this.
-take this if you are either going top or perhaps a dps build and you want
to split push,also if you are playing ap then teleport and ignite are what I usually run.

Masteries


This is the mastery page I will usually take as it gives better early damage and faster clear times and it gives you the life steal and spell vamp, combine that with grasp of the undying and you become very hard to kill.

Here you can take the 12 points from ferocity and put them in the cunning tree If you would prefer it, I personally don't use this though it could work just as well.



Keystones
Warlord's Bloodlust - If you plan on going with a crit-build then this could help you survive in fights and pull off some nice plays, even if you don't go with a crit-build this can still heal you every time you use Deceive on an enemy champion. I personally would not recommend this especially due to the nerf to it now only working on champions.

Grasp of the Undying -I would recommend this keystone 100% of the time when going tank as it scales off of your max health adding damage while giving you really good sustain in fights.

Thunderlord's Decree -This keystone is obviously the most popular as of right now and most people are taking this over everything in every role. Taking this is entirely up to you, you can proc it by using Deceive auto-attacking from behind twice followed by Two-Shiv Poison overall procing it with shaco isn't the best but it does add to your burst when you go in on someone.

Fervor of Battle -If you were to go more of a dps build then this would be good I guess though I haven't actually tried it myself because I prefer the others over it.

Stormraider's Surge -I take this on ap shaco(not always) because you can proc it off of your Two-Shiv Poison alone to help either escape or chase down people.You could also take this on assassin shaco so that after you use Deceive you won't be completely helpless and it is helpful for avoiding skill-shots (particularly cc) after you assassinate someone.

This isn't a rune page I usually take on Shaco however if for some reason you are the only tank or if the enemy seem to have a lot of mixed damage (especially if it's early damage) then take these and rush to get your items.

Abilities


Backstab-Is shaco's passive and it buffs all your damage dealt by 20% when attacking from behind, so make sure to utilise this as much as possible especially when using your q.

Deceive-Is shaco's q and it blinks Shaco towards the cursor similar to Flash only it also stealths you and buffs your next auto-attack making you crit.

This is not the build order you have to take nor is it the one I run every game. With Shaco what skill you max can be very situational, if you are very behind and maybe getting invaded then maxing w can help a lot with faster clears less damage so higher jungle sustain and you can even catch out and kill people due to the boxes increased fear duration and higher damage. If you are ahead however maxing e is usually the way to go though I do like to somewhat evenly level my skills while still maxing out e first.I do not get points in my ult after 6 until level 17 because I like to get the extra damage and lower mana cost/cool-down on my q. Also because ranks in your ult only lower the cool-down and raise the damage from the explosion but the damage is very easily avoided and very unreliable and the cool-down isn't that high anyway and if you have bought cdr then even more reason to not need ranks in it.

Here you will usually max e but in some cases or if you are falling behind you can max w play defensively and usually easily catch out an opponent and get a kill.If you are laning against someone like a Xin Zhao for example who jumps on to you and then has no escape having boxes setup can turn his attack against him and you can often get the kill from just standing there spamming laugh.

Laning



I only lane if jungle is taken or I feel like playing ap. I don't recommend going in lane. Not because I think it's bad but because jungle shaco gives so much map pressure and he is the best ganker in the game right from level 2.


Stop farming. Farm champions.(jk)

Don't be afraid to farm



Farming


I see Shaco players that seem afraid to farm, as if they are compelled to just gank 24/7 and I must admit, I used to do this too when I started playing him but you can just farm.
Never Give Up
Starting off.

Start placing boxes when blue spawn timer is at 1:00(0:59)
as your boxes have a 1 minute life span but once activated
will last 5 seconds or until killed meaning a box place at 1:00
will activate just in time giving you the maximum damage output
for the fastest clear time.


Next you want to run to drag pit, Make sure to take note of
bot and top lane. If both lanes start there then he may be afk
or getting no leash, if bot lane is late then he started gromp
(note, if they go to lane through tri-bush they may have leashed
red so take that into consideration) Or if top lane leashed then
they are most likely at blue and you have a free red to steal. If all
is well they well be at red and you can wait in the bush and smite
it and take first blood.*notes* Be careful of the support staying
with the jungle.

If you notice mid missing or bot lane then you want to be very careful,
I usually will stick around long enough to take red then Deceive out
but it is very situational and depends on both your knowledge of shaco
and the enemy champions coming to kill you. If you are uncertain then
just leave and go farm.

After taking red and getting first blood you will be lvl 3 so you can gank
now if a lane is gankable(check gankable section). I will make my way to their blue buff warding it and then maybe taking scuttle or ganking top if needed. you will learn as you continue practicing. If played right you can star off the game getting all 4 buffs by going Your blue > Their red > Their blue > Your red.(can be done other ways but this is my usual pattern).

Just do it.


Counter jungling as shaco is probably the safest out of all champs as you can just Deceive out of there if things start to get dangerous. Try to keep warding and placing boxes so you can see where and when someone is coming, also just in general work on your map awareness(mid was full hp their blue is down and neither top or bot is gankable and mid is now mia, chances are they are coming for you).Map awareness is key to counter jungling successfully.


Ganks


Are they below 40%?
-Yes?
-Gank them, easy kill, your damage alone is enough to kill them here. So with your lane helping it is an easy kill.
-No?
-If you have nothing better to do(ganking another lane,counter-jungling,taking a buff) then you can gank and help your lane get ahead and create pressure which usually leads to a kill for them, or you can burn their flash again creating opportunity for your laner.

Are they past halfway?
-Yes?
-Gank them, If they have no flash or dashing ability it is most likely a kill for your team.
-No?
-If they are low or if your lane has a significant lead then you can still Deceive near them attack ignite Two-Shiv Poison
and your lane should finish them off.

Do they have flash?
-Yes?
-Gank them, Burnt it, Gank again.
-No?
-Then without hard cc or something like Spirit Rush then you will usually get the kill.

Is your laner ahead?
-Yes?
-Gank them and extend their lead so that they snowball out of control and completely dominate their lane.
-No?
-you may think you should gank? not necessarily, I will often(I do get flamed for this) not gank these lanes, now before you get salt hear me out. Toplane is 2/0, midlane is 3/0 but your adc is 0/4 and begging for a gank but it's only 9 minutes in.Now your aim right now is to carry the game, so pushing your leads, feeding your top and mid, claiming objectives. These are your goals. Now you must also learn the difference between a struggling lane that just needs a little help and a lane that is just feeding, a lane in need of help you can get to and help them and they will be okay, a feeding lane however will have an unnecessary amount of deaths that are not your fault or responsibility so to make up for the kills they have given, get you mid fed, ask them for help, 4 man bot maybe even get top to tp in then take drag and tower.So conclusion, if they are a kill or even 2 down, help them always help your team, however learn how to help for each circumstance. Just because you didn't gank bot, doesn't mean you aren't helping them. You are helping them get later into the game, if you aren't strong enough to shut down that 6/0 Draven then why gank bot? instead gank other lanes and get your team together to help and push objectives.

Do they have a dash?
-Yes?
-See if your laner can bait it out and know your cool-downs(zeds Living Shadow for example has a much longer cool-down than Leblanc's Distortion once she has a few levels and cdr) and attack then, someone like a zed without his w or ult is a definite kill or flash for you.
-No?
-Then gank and gank. Immobile champs will become afraid to farm with you around so punish them for thinking otherwise, if a champ with no escapes even thinks about moving up then gank them.

Do they have a stun?
-Yes?
-Get your laner to go in first, and appear once their cc is burnt.
-No?
-Go in.

Ganking


Deceive behind them using one of the Pathways remember to make use of Backstab and to attack from behind then place a box either behind them or in your minions for a get away in case of a counter-gank then continue attacking and using your e to either finish them off or just to add the slow, If your laner has hard cc you can place the box down after it lands to chain cc them into definite death. You don't have to always use your e
as sometimes just attacking can be better and it applies your perma-slow passive from Two-Shiv Poison , also when you do use your e try to use it when they are running away to get that damage boost from your passive.With some champs and depending on your build (for example if you have Dead man's plate) you can go in with q auto attack them then place the box in their escape route and continue attacking slowing them enough so that your box will activate before they get out of range.Sometimes, mainly when they have a dash such as Distortion you can go in and place the box down first before attacking.

Team Fights

What team? you killed them all!

When in a fight your goal is obviously to be the assassin you are, make sure to wait out any serious cc ( Unstoppable Force for example) then go in and kill the carries. Make sure to press tab and check the enemies inventory to make sure they have no pinks that might get dropped on you. As full ad you can usually kill any adc without there being anything they can do about it as shown here.
Full AD Shaco
After assassinating the carry you now need to get somewhere safe until your q comes off cooldown, So having a box or two down before you engage can help you with that. Place a box down as you kill the carry so you can run away without being chased.


As a tank you can take the hits and dish them out too (as shown in the video in the tank section) So you can both assassinate the carry while staying in the fight peeling for your carries with your boxes and perma-slow. A well built tank Shaco can out tank even a Volibear so staying in the front line is no problem for you as you can easily q out or use Hallucinate to survive the fight.(as shown in the 2 v 1 video you are very hard to kill)

As Ap Shaco your mission is to never stop placing boxes, 1 box with decent Ap can almost kill an adc so having them placed everywhere can easily turn the tides in a team fight. Having them placing strategically is what makes a good Ap Shaco for you need to know not only where to place the boxes but when and why.


Split Pushing

Shaco is an excellent split-pusher if not the best in the game.

Art of the clone.

There are many thing that your clone is useful for, a good one is that it can dodge almost every skill in the game except for any damage over time abilities and the mighty zilean Time Bomb. Other than that though you can use your clone for such things as to confuse enemies, soak damage or perhaps losing tower agro after a tower dive.Be aware of things such as spell-blade as they only appear on you and not your clone so using such things will give away the real one.Using your clone to help split push is also a very effective way to use it as it has a fairly low cool-down and can essentially double the speed you take down towers combined with your boxes.


Jack's Box of Secrets.

Jack in the box can be used as so much more than I often see people using it for. You can use these to tank things, use them as wards, use them as escape routes as well as also using them on the offensive.
