Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to my guide for an amaizing AP Cho'Gath.

Runes

I take AP runes of any kind along with some magic pen runes to improve my effectiveness. You may want to take some mana runes as this build will leave you out of mana very quick

Masteries

I take mostly defensive runes because they give Cho some more durribility. You may want to use more ofensive masteries as they will give you even more AP.

Items

These items will make you pretty much straight up AP. Many games I find myelf swapping out the deathfire grasp for a thornmail or banshes veil depending on the enemy team

Skill Sequence

Where many Cho' Gath builds are based around his W (feral scream) I prefer to level up his Q and W equally as this makes his Q-W-R combo even more deadly. I take his E at level 2 and max it last.

Summoner Spells

Flash and Heal are my typical spells as flash is good for get aways an heal helps everyone on your team. Another very good summoner spell choice is clarity because in the early laning phase about 4 ruptures leaves Cho out of mana.

Pros / Cons

Pros: His AOE spells dominate in team fights.
Awesome early to mid game
Godly if fed

Cons: Squishy
So So late game unless fed

Team Work

Cho works great with champions that have crowd controll effects because you can leave enemy champions useless. It is good to lead the charge in team fights with his W because it silences the enemy team giving your team to get the upper hand. If you can learn how to lead your ruptures good you can take out fleeing enemies.

AP Cho vs. Tank Gath

Something that many players don't understand is that cho isn't really a tank. Sure he deffinatly has the capacity to tank, but lets be honest who doesn't like getting kills? I build cho as an AP caster because I find that he is naturally tanky so why sacrifice damage out put for more durribility than he already has? The way I see it, if you need a tank get Rammus or Amumu, let Cho dominate.
