Thank you for talking about lich bane, however it seems to me that it should be in your core build. It makes your q hit SO hard and even if it does split it does major dmg. I would just love to see some math go into lich bane seeems like it is great for morde and ignored too often. |

I think I may run Mercury's in some games and buy a Void Staff later. 3. Most agree that Morde needs to Rush a Hextech Revolver. Although that Spellvamp isnt enough. I think early game Will of the ancients really is the best option. ( as mentioned above, the slow from hextech gunblade is great, but the item is just too expensive for early game). For Spellvamp I will give Spirit Visage a shot, beceause 15% more health is really great, and 10% CDR is also very good for a DPS mage. 4. As we speka of CDR: CDR is also great on Morde. In some games when I get blue buff( from a kill for example) the 20% CDR from the Buff REALLY helps Morde. But in most games you dont' get blue buff too much. (Because Champions who need mana should get it first). ( Also concerning the buffs: The red buff is also usefule to Morde in some cases, slow and health regen does not hurt. But same as blue in most cases someone else should get the buff. (Correct me if I am wrong :))) As I said before, I usually like to start with WoTa, but I find myself to build Gunblade if I feel strong and in need of hard CC. (stacking WotA for morde is quite like a 3 doran's stack for other champs), but, anyway, if you mean you are stacking rylaj as first item, well just no. Except you really feel into it as a morde master, you will need that spellvamp in fights, or the most damage you sustain will come from yourself. Plus, morde is not a tank, but an offtank, so stacking tankish early game is not a good choice unless they really troll letting you stack kills easily. I often find myself in need of defense mid game, and if they have a good AP then my core items pops out, the Abyssal Scepter. I believe it is one of the best items to build on morde, since he needs to be in melee range to cast (except his ult), he always benefits the Mres debuff. I always get it in my builds. About CDR.. you need that blue buff, but that's enough; with the right build you can nuke 5 players for almost 500 dmg mid game, and the cd is quite low on itself. :) |

His real strength likes in AP and wrecking enemies with his abilities, not being the tank. There are better candidates for tanks, such as Galio, Malphite, and Nasus. Warmog's was decent on Mord before the Riven nerfs. After those nerfs, it was DEFINITELY a terrible item to build on Mord. Now, with his recent buffs, I don't know whether it is viable again or not. I don't think Warmog's is THE BEST item on Mord, but that doesn't mean he can't build tanky items. TheUn4givenRage mentions two great ones: Randuin's Omen and Zhonya's Hourglass I'm only saying this because, from what I've seen, AP Mord works A LOT more effectively than Pure Tank Mord. However, Offtank is fine as long as you build some AP to go with it, because otherwise Mord won't be able to do much outside of his ult. |

Boots + 3hp, or Cloth + 5hp depending wether your lane is magic or physical damage. Then, you get Revolver, then you build pretty much AP. Tri lane for life.
