Nice to see a high ELO player make a build here :)
I play a bit Mordekaiser myself and I gotta say that 21defense is pretty darn good to have. Nimbleness and Tenacity totally rock.
I also feel kinda squishy without it (especially early on) since all his abilities are pretty short range. Tanking feels almost impossible with utility early on..
You don't really explain why utility is a better choice in your guide. Care to share? :S

Sorry for voting down before, changed it to +1. I just took a look at your masteries and decided that I hated this(didn't check the entire guide, which is good btw). I just have a deep hatred for utility Mordes :( . Every single one I've ever played with has been really, really, really bad.. It's sad really.. So I vowed that I would never be like them! That I would never even think about using utility! Hopefully you'll have some good reasons to change my mind with :S

To Searz: I hope that's enough information to cover why I chose my masteries the way I wanted. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask =)

To GreatStar: You can always wait until he's free for a week to try him out, but if you're the impatient type and just want to try someone new, I would say give him a try. He's a fun character to play and different than any other.

Don't worry Un4given, my Taric guide goes through the same thing.

Actually, most guides do, even if well written. Just know that it SHOULD pay off in the end after all the trolls have passed.

Much better explanation. I'm still unsure though :S
I think I'm gonna try playing with utility a bit and see how it goes.

You didn't respond to this part: "Just so you know; Archaic Knowledge effectively makes 15% of your flat magic pen useless. (48,55 * 0,85 = 41,27 , 7,27useless MP) Isn't it better to go for Nimbleness instead of Archaic Knowledge ? That or you could go for an item build with less MP. Just so that no bonus is wasted." What do you think?
I personally think Archaic Knowledge gives enough magic pen throughout the entire game, so I don't waste any bonuses by using flat magic pen.

He's also pretty easy when you've got a good grasp of the basics :)

I've played a bit with it now and realized that it's not bad, but I don't think it's as good as defense. Nimbleness gives you that extra speed when you're trying to escape and the defense makes you one of the toughest "fighters" in the game.

The thing I noticed most of all was that I was much less useful in teamfights. I was simply not durable enough to tank for my team. I did do some decent dmg though and I guess that's good. But I miss my tripple and quadra kills ;( . With defense I'm a ****ing nightmare for my enemies to face in a teamfight. They can't focus me because I'm too durable(so my teammates kill them) and they can't ignore me cuz then I'll kill them all. If they play cowardly we can just push the towers down or farm the jungle. It's win-win. I don't feel that I need the move speed that often.

I think it's time to work on my own now ^^
My current build is in my rune tips guide. It's a work in progress. Care to give me any criticism?

To Searz: 48,55 * 0,85 = 41,27 , 7,27 useless MP)Honestly, I was wondering where this formula even came from. I have no idea what any of the numbers are you just threw them out there. What does each number represent?

You have to remember that Nimbleness is based on chance depending on how many dodges, so it's not always going to come when you want it to, but archiac knowledge will at least apply its Magic Pen all the time. I feel it's more important to get ignite and my ult together than to have a bit more defense. I'm already getting defense from items when farming. Ignite and Children of the Grave get me completely different kills, kills that give me a ghost ally. So many people underestimate the ghost, but it's totally another hero in disguise I love it.

I'm more of a kiting tank than anything. I don't just like to boulder in and take all the damage until I'm dead. This isn't World of Warcraft where if I stop tanking the boss it will just obliterate the rest of my team lol. You can run out and stay behind enemy lines getting healed by support healers or tp back and come back to for battle. By kiting, you're making them work harder when they dont get kills and when they're overextending to get them. They forget and realize that they have gone too far and then its too late.

Always have to remember that not one guide is the ultimate guide that should always be followed. I like to play with more aggressiveness and trickery. I like to lure people into trouble thinking they'll win. It always depends on the players play style.

48,55 * 0,85 = 41,27 , 7,27 useless MP)Honestly, I was wondering where this formula even came from. I have no idea what any of the numbers are you just threw them out there. What does each number represent?

48,55 is your flat magic pen(counting Abyssal Scepter as flat since it makes no difference in this calculation) and 0,15 is your percental(%) magic pen. 0,15(%MP) * 48,55(flat MP) = 7,27(lost flat MP).

Let's use a simple example; 50%MP against 100MR = 50MR penetrated. If you add 20flat penetration to that you don't get 70MR penetrated, you get 60.
This formula correctly calculates the lost MP: 0,5(%MP) * 20(flat MP) = 10(lost flat MP)

Now that we've made that clear; what do you think about it? Is the bonus that is lost not big enough to care about or is it worth changing the build over?

As for our differences in building; it's pretty much a question of playstyle. Both ways work magnificienly. (though you might need another tank on the team when using utility)
