Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This Volibear build focuses on spamming the "W" ability and by level 18 it will be doing roughly 700 damage on its own while you still maintain tremendous health, magic resist, and armor. You will want to modify the build toward endgame...mainly to counter whatever the enemy champions focus on. If you want to do more damage late game swap the "Doran's Shield" with "Atma's Impaler" and you will receive AD equal to 2% of your bonus health...which gets you up about +80 attack damage at level 18. The only way this build will be countered is by having a high attack damage champion with high attack speed and armor penetration. Typically you will have to watch out for Vayne, Twitch, and Teemo. However, you will still put up a good fight and maybe even kill these champs if caught 1v1 with them. WITH THIS BUILD YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO OUTKILL ALMOST ANY OTHER PLAYER!!!!
If you switch Runes around I would focus on armor, health, or magic resist instead of the attack speed Mark. You can also modify the Quintessences for armor or magic resist.
Key here is to focus on leveling the "Frenzy" ability. Starting with this will give you stacked attack speed and can be very useful on the first encounter with enemy champions. After that you will want to get Volibear's "Rolling Thunder" ability and attempt to pair all 3 of your common abilities together.
These items can be altered but I would definitely keep Warmog's Armor and the Frozen Mallet because health and the slow for those are pertinent to this build. You can change the Atma's Impaler if you would rather be more tank than damage.
Activate "Rolling Thunder" to catch and flip the enemy over your head...try to get them thrown into your turrets for extra damage and chance to kill. Immediately after "Rolling Thunder" activate "Majestic Roar" to do minor damage and slow all surrounding enemies. This will allow you to continue punishing the enemy champ you just caught and potentially give your teammates a chance to catch up and finish the fight. IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO GET KILLS!! You will need to wait to use the "Frenzy" ability until the enemy is below roughly 40% health. So, just continue to auto attack and spam the "Majestic Roar" and "Rolling Thunder" abilities to keep the enemy in front of you long enough. Once the enemy is low on health you will want to activate "Frenzy" and it should one hit kill the enemy champion if you timed it right. This strategy works unbelievably well against Tryndamere because it doesn't allow him to activate his Ultimate ability to avoid death...like he always does.
