Xin has always been a strong jungler however recently he has been getting more and more attention due to the buff of single target junglers at the beginning of season 3. Xin's abilities provide all of the necessary tools to be an effective jungler. He has strong gap closers and disables as well as health sustain in the jungles.

Pros

- Strong CC and Interrupts
- Great Gap Closers
- Snowballs
- Percentage Damage (Effective against high HP heroes)
- Ult can be used for escape as well as damage and CC

Cons

- Little escape (Can only Audacious Charge if near enemy minions)
- Relies on strong early Game

Marks: Greater Mark of Attack Damage These are pretty much the only marks that you can use. You need the early AD to take down jungle minions however Greater Mark of Scaling Attack Damage could be substituted however they aren't nearly as useful early game.

Seals: Greater Seal of Armor is your only choice you NEED the armor to survive jungle camps early.

Glyphs: Greater Glyph of Attack Speed not the standard choice for Glyphs however the extra attack speed allows you to get more health regen from Battle Cry as well as getting the knockup from Three Talon Strike faster. You can use Greater Glyph of Magic Resist (which are generally the more accepted choice) for extra survive-ablility during ganks.

Quintessences: Greater Quintessence of Life Steal will make early jungling a breeze however they can easily be replaced with Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage sacrificing jungling ease for more damage.

Berserker's Greaves are usually the best boots to buy. The extra attack speed provides you bonus health from Battle Cry and allows you to get the knock up from Three Talon Strike a lot faster. The build above adds in enough magic resists to help offset the loss from Mercury's Treads.


Mercury's Treads can replace beserker's in some situations. If you are against a high CC or magic damage team (CC and magic damage usually come together) Merc Treads can be very useful.


Ninja Tabi are probably the least bought boots on Xin but they are usually underestimated. If the other team has a very AD heavy team or just an overly fed ad player Ninja Tabi will increase your survive-ability against them dramatically. However this will make you quite susceptible to magic damage until the mid game when you purchase your Maw of Malmortius

Wriggle's Lantern is the best jungle item for every single target jungler. The passive damage to minions will drastically increase your jungle speed and efficiency. Also the free ward allows you to protect you buffs from the enemy team as well as scout out weaker junglers at their buffs. If your feeling generous you can provide the ward to the top laner to keep him safe from opposing ganks. Also if your having any doubts Wriggles lantern is fourth most bought by Xin Zhao and out of all heroes that buy Wriggles Xin has the highest win rate at 59%.(See statistic section for full table)


Frozen Mallet is an extremely useful item anywhere from the early game to end game. It provides great health as well as good damage. However frozen mallet is mostly useful due to the passive. It makes champions without and escape have a very difficult time escaping from you. This item also improves your early ganks.


Black Cleaver give a good amount of AD and health as well as the armor shredding passive and cool down reduction makes this a all around good item.


Maw of Malmortius adds a fair amount of AD as well as even more survive-ability to help protect against magic damage.


Guardian Angel gives you very good Armor as well as Magic Resist and it give you TWO LIVES you cant beat that passive.


Bloodthirster provides great AD and Life Steal helping you stay alive in teamfights and duels as well as not needing to unless you want to buy items.

Mercurial Scimitar is very useful against team with very strong CC while also providing a good amount of attack damage.


Trinity Force can be bought if you are doing very well early or your team needs more of a carry role than tank skipping the upgrade to Frozen Mallet can be replaced with a Tri-Force.


Youmuu's Ghostblade will also serve you well if your team is looking for more of a carry role than a tank.


Banshee's Veil should only be gotten if their initiation strongly relies on an opening spell such as Blitz or Amumu.


Warmog's Armor can be added to your build if you feel that you are dying too easily or your team needs more of a tank role or initiator.


Thornmail is rarely gotten unless the other team is all AD or has a overly fed right clicker.
