For his incomparable skill with the bow and his unquestioned sense of honor, Varus was chosen to be the warden of a sacred Ionian temple. The temple was built to contain an ancient pit of corruption so vile that Ionian Elders feared it could envelop the island in darkness. Varus prided himself on his position, as only the most exceptional Ionian warriors were selected for the role. He lived with his family in a nearby village and led a quiet life of disciplined routine until the day the forces of Noxus invaded Ionia. Their shock troops left nothing but death and desolation in their wake, and the temple lay in their path. Varus was forced to make a decision. He was bound by honor to stay and defend the temple, but without him the village's few inhabitants could offer little resistance against the oncoming war machine. Gravely, he chose to fulfill his duty as a warden. The corruption could not be allowed to escape.
His arrows sundered the troops who tried to wrest the temple from him that day. However, when he returned to the village, he found that it had been reduced to a smoldering graveyard. Remorse at the sight of his slain family gave way to overwhelming regret and then to seething hatred. He swore to slaughter every Noxian invader, but first he needed to become stronger. He turned to that which he had sacrificed everything to protect. The pit of corruption would consume him wholly, as a flame devours a wick, but its abominable power would burn within him until he was lost. This was a path from which there could be no return. With grim resolve, he condemned himself to the black flames, feeling malevolent energy bond to his skin...and with it, the promise of ruin. He left, seeking the blood of all Noxians involved with the invasion, a grisly task that eventually led him to the invasion's most infamous perpetrators in the League of Legends.
''The life of an arrow is fleeting, built of nothing but direction and intent.''
Hi this is my 1st League of legends champion and build Guide :) I hope you Enjoy it :).
This guide will go through how I play Varus from my item building to my skill selection order.
I will be updating this guide as game updates etc come along.
Thank you and Enjoy!
Feedback is welcome
The runes I have chosen is pretty much a General AD Carry set With the attack damage / Armor / Magic resist :)
I Chose to have Flat magic resist as I like to have that more survivability at start as well as maxing out the magic resist at 18.
I Chose the Arm pen as with most AD carry u will face some tanky characters out there that will just stack armor to make you useless so ofc arm pen helps there.
The armor I chose as I allays have armor on all the toons I play as I like to know that I will have that little extra survivability.
The Attack damage I took just for that little extra at the start.
The masteries I have chosen are pretty much a basic AD Carry Mastery build. I like this build as it has all the AD bonuses I need and some extra resistance and health.
You can if you chose to to take out the extra health and take points in Havoc for the Extra 1.5% damage.
The items I have chosen I believe to be Good for Varus as they have the Attack damage / Attack speed / Life steel / Arm pen / lowering targets armor.
Item order is Boots of speed and 3 health pots - Bereserker's greeves - infinity edge - vampiric scepter - Phantom dancer - Last wisper optional - Bloodthirster and Guardian angel
I have chosen to go with this Skill Sequence as I believe it is good to Max out Q but have e also high when maxing it out.
I have chosen to take q at start as the scaling is very high giving more poke and more damage at the start and mid game.
I have Chosen to go with Bouble and Flash as my summoner Spells.
The Bouble is very good for geting that last hit under towers can cancling out focus on you in a team fight
Flash so that you have an Escape mechanism e.g over walls or away down a lane.
You can also use Heal insted of flash so you have more surviveability early game, This being as Varus is very squishy. but i prefer to use Flash to ensure a kill by flashing to them or to escape over walls or just to get away in a lane.
Pros / Cons
[*] Very high damage end game
[*] nice starting damage
[*] Good harassment
[*] Very useful in team fights
[*] good at last hitting
[*] Very squishy early game
[*] Squishy late game
[*] Not many Escape mechanisms
[*] Focused A lot
In a team fight you are going to want to stay near the back as you are going to get focused a lot as you will do most damage.
You will want to engage with your E followed by your R stack up your W on 1 or 2 targets and hit with your Q Keep using your Q and E on cool down after the initial engage.
You will need to try and avoid Silences, Stuns and fears so you can put out Max Damage.
You should get your team to use protective cool downs on you when you engage if they don't already.
