Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
What You'll Get Out Of This Guide
This is my first guide, so if you have any ideas on how to make it better, constructive critisicm is appreciated.
Vayne is an amazing Champion who is very good at chasing down enemy champs. She has a large damage output and also can "put da team on her back"
If you are looking for a champion who can dominate mid early game, pull any champion apart late game, be a fun champion, and get a bit of IP out of it, hten Vayne is a great champ for you.
This guide will tell you how to lane with vayne, aswell as what order items to get, why you should get certain skills before others, and how important farming is!!!!
Pros / Cons
Strong from start to finish
Godly at farming
Can pick off enemy champions in a team fight
Has a Stealth
Has a Stun
Has a very costly build
Is a little bit squishy
Often focused in team fights
Once stunned dies quickly
I am still working on finding some runes that would better suit vayne, but even have the armor and the magic resist keeps her in lane a little bit longer.
The armor Penatration Marks Greater mark of desolation are perfect for her, They make her attacks that much stronger and most of her abilities scale with her attack damage aswell. These marks were made for her.
The Armor Seals
are working for her for now but I am currently working on finding a seal that will benefit Vayne more than this.
The Magic Resist Glyphs
are the same way as her seals, I am currently trying to find a better Glyph for Vayne.
The cooldowns Glyphs
seem like they might do well, making her abilities that much quicker to cast.
The Armor Penetration Quintessence greater quintessence of desolation is a great choice for Vayne, I cant se a better Possible choice for a Champion like her.
After playing a few more games I realized that attack speed quints
are also a great choice because it helps you trigger you silver bolts that much quicker
I went with the standard 21-0-9,
giving Vayne more attack damage and critical strike chance is key to making her that much more of an impact in game.
You could change it to go 21-9-0 but I wouldn't give up the extra experience, and neutral monster buff masteries, since getting the red buff is a key component in dominating this champion.
Night Hunter - Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers. She gains 40 Movement Speed when moving towards an enemy champion.
Tumble- (Active): Vayne tumbles, maneuvering to carefully place her next shot. She rolls toward the cursor and her next attack deals bonus damage.
Silver Bolts- Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target deals a percentage of the target's maximum Health as bonus true damage. (Max damage vs. Monsters is capped at 200)
Condemn- (Active): Vayne draws a heavy crossbow from her back, and fires a huge bolt at her target, dealing damage and knocking them back. If they collide with terrain, they are impaled, dealing bonus damage and stunning them.
Final Hour- Readying herself for an epic confrontation, Vayne gains increased Attack Damage, stealth during Tumble, and quadruple the bonus Movement Speed from Night Hunter.
This build has a lot of heavy items but it works very well.
Start with a dagger
and a health pot
this will give you that extra attack speed to kill minions and harrass early game quicker.
Stay in lane till you have enough gold for your boots of speed
and enough to make your zeal
Continue ganking and farming minions untill you can go back and upgrade your boots to boots of swiftness
and maybe grab your vampiric scepter
and second dagger
Once again farm minions and kill champions as fast as possible because you need to get that B.F. SwordB.F. sword quickly
DO NOT BUY THE BLOODTHIRSTER
Buy The Black Cleaver
so you can have more attack speed and tear the enemies armor apart!
Soon enough you should have the gold to buy your Phantom Dancer
Make sure you buy this before The Bloodthirster
helps with the crits and attack speed which makes Vayne rip people apart.
Now that you have the gold for your Bloodthirster
buy it and max its attributes asap!
Keeping your Bloodthirster
at max is key, it keeps you alive in those iffy situations.
If the game isn't over by now then buy an Infinity Edge
You'll be able to take down anyone,
Farming is very easy with Vayne, but you can't get carried away in a lane with harrasing.
You still need to last hit minions like a boss, I'm not saying dont harrass but this build has such a high cost in gold that you need the minion kills aswell.
If you are top or bot, go take out the wraiths or wolves then gank mid, Vayne is an Excellent ganker.
Whenever you can get the red buff, that extra true damage makes your damage output off the charts annoying, it helps a ton in team fights too.
Keep an eye on dragon aswell, dragon is a game changer aswell. If your team controls the dragon that is a significant amount of extra gold tat you get and the opposing team doesn't.
The reason I max out Tumble first is so that you have that higher damage output and a lower cooldown on it.
If you are laning against someone with a ranged skillshot like
then try to save your tumble to get out of the way of her stun.
I then max out Silver Bolts for the extra damage and to cut down there health by percentages aswell as damage.
I only get one point in Condemn at level 3, because you mostly only use it to pin people to walls or shoot them towards your team.
Max your The Final Hour whenever possible and use it as often as you can, when your ult is up use Tumble as much as possible then position yourself while stealthed to pin them to a wall with Condemn
Your main combo as Vayne is to attack, attack, Tumble, attack. This gives you the huge damage spike from both Tumble and Silver Bolts.
When 1v1ing make sure to position yourself to be able to dodge your opponents skill shots with Tumble, then try to pin them to a wall *or turret* with condemn.
During a team fight you will be the one that is going to push a weker champion away from there team and closer to your team. If there is a champion who is pushing himself to far forward then take him right away, you do enough damage that he will have to go back a bit and stop there team from pushing or they will be caught off guar anf quickly lose all there team.... *ACE*
If you are not getting kills in a team fight you are doing something very wrong.... Vayne is very capable of somehow pulling off a pentakill in a 5v5 team fight, she has such high attack speeds and damage output that the enemy team will most likely try to focus you first. So be very Cautios aswell. You have to know when to be aggresive.
I chose to take
because in team fight when your ult is up you can stealth with tumble and sneak by the tank to ignite the enemy carry. It is very helpfull early game aswell. It is sometimes hard to get off though because of the range on Vayne.
I also choose to take
because it helps you get out of sticky situations it can help you position yourself for condemn, and the cooldown isn't too bad on it.
Other options are
Exhaust is also amazing with vayne When she is in trouble she can exhaust reducing the enemies damage output and pick up the kill or she can use it to secure a kill on an escaping champion.... the few that can escape that is.
but Vayne has enough speed as it is.
noob spell though....
Depending on if you know how to use them, and keep in mind if you choose to get Clairvoyance then that means you can see the enemy champion in your vision which turns your passive on, heping you chase down enemys.
This build has worked very well for me and I hope it works or you too please comment and please rate the guide aswell.
I'm open to all suggestions except dumb ones.
Thank you for reading my guide and let me know how it works for you aswell i'd love to hear it.
