Introduction

This is the way I build my Vayne

Vayne, Vayne, Vayne... So after the nerf people believe she is useless. Well think again. She has far by the best movements in the game. The ability to run and shoot, the ability to chase and stun, and the ability to cloak like an assassin. Shes still OP! They say.

*guide still in progress*

Pros / Cons

Pros

- Best tank killer champion hands down!
- Best mobility champion
- Has Cloaking abilities
- Has a stun ability!!
- Amazing ability to escape
- Easy on mana
(just dont spam tumble every second)

Cons

- Squishy
- Focused on during team battles.
(counter this by cloaking giving time to your teammates to attack in team battles)
- Relies on teammates heavily for protection

Runes

Greater Quintessence of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation

Quintessence

Greater Quintessence of Desolation *Greater Quintessence of Desolation : 3.33 Armor Penetration is a beast combine that with 3 of them and you get 10 armor penetration which comes out to about +10% damage.

Marks

Greater Mark of Desolation *Greater Mark of Desolation : Another 1.66 armor penetration stacked with 9 is roughly 15 more armor penetration which in turn is basically another +14%-18% damage.

Seals

*Greater Seal of Evasion : Why? because mid to late game your deaths will mostly come from farmed champs usually hitting in physical damage. .75% dodge with 9 of them you will get 6.75% dodge added with masteries +2% for a total of 8.75% dodge.

Greater Seal of Shielding : This is another option because magic spells hurt Vayne a lot but instead of getting this I get
x2 for the extra health and damage early game. 0.1 magic resist per level (1.8 magic resist at level 18)

Glyphs

*Greater Glyph of Clarity : You will need the extra cool down reduction. 0.05% per level (0.9% at level 18) There is no better option.

* - recommended

Total
Greater Quintessence of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation
+25 armor penetration
+6.75% evasion
+8.1% cool down reduction

Summoner Spells

Ghost : Ghost is a must for the ability to chase down running champions when final hour is on cool down. For positioning to use and knock back the enemy champion to your team. Also for escaping.

Flash : Is always a good spell to get because you can teleport for positioning on a enemy, for passing a wall. Just another alternative to ghost. So having both of them is even better. I mean what else would you get?

Masteries

22-8-0. Some people get Archaic Knowledge but you don't have spells besides condemn. I max out sunder for another 6 armor penetration which comes to 31 with runes. I also maxed out evasion to stack with my runes. for a 8.75% dodge rate. The reason why its 22-8-0 instead of 21-9-0 is because 1 more attack damage is better than 2 more armor. (switching brute force for hardiness)

Abilities - After the Nerf v1.0.0.120

Range : 2000
Adds 40 movement speed while running toward an enemy champion

Range : 250
Cost : 35 mana
Cooldown : 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 / 2 seconds
Bonus damage : 40% / 45% / 50% / 55% / 60%
(from 55% / 60% / 65% / 70% / 75%)
Vayne tumbles toward cursor, Vayne's next attack in 6 seconds deals bonus damage.

True Damage : 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%
Every 3rd consecutive attack deals an additional % of the targets maximum health in TRUE damage.

Cooldown : 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 seconds
Damage : 45 / 80 / 115 / 150 / 185
(from 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210)
Vayne shoots a arrow that deals damage and pushes back the target, if the target collides with terrain it is stunned for 1.5 seconds and receives additional damage.

Bonus Damage : 25 / 40 / 55 (from 35 / 55 / 75)
Bonus Movement Speed : x3 (from x4)
Lasts : 8 / 10 / 12 seconds

Vayne pulls out her crossbow and receives bonus movement speed and attack damage. Additionally casting tumble during this duration gives Vayne a 1.5s stealth.

Get first because it will give you easy minion kills early game. It is better to get Silver Bolts than because tumble was nerfed by 15% damage but if you use tumble for the early kills you may want to use your Summoner Spells instead. This is also why I max silver bolts first because the last hitting ability and because tumble and condemn does hardly any damage.

The reason why I get condemn at level 8 is due to the fact that the only way you will most likely die is by ranged spells and ranged attacks and tumble backwards is a way to dodge melee attackers, so they wont be a problem. However if you do find yourself fighting champions that teleport or charge toward you often you may want to consider getting it at level 4 just for the knockback.

Ability Overview

*****
4/5 Stars because of the nerfed damage, but with or the damage output will be substantial. This skill is mainly used for moving and double shooting (explained below). I cant stress enough how good this skill from dodging spells to moving around your enemy to use and stick them to a wall.

*****
5/5 Stars!!! This skill makes Vayne. Without this skill she will be a terrible champion to play. I am so glad this skill was not nerfed greatly. This skill deals 8% of your targets MAX!!! health every 3rd consecutive hit. That means its fixed damage! Tanks will fall as fast as any other champion. This damage is also TRUE DAMAGE meaning it will deal the full amount of damage no matter how much armor they have. There was a nerf that made it so it will not trigger if the target has a spell shield on but I that was a good nerf that was actually needed.

*****
3/5 Stars because this skill is only used for the knockback ability and its stunning ability. This skill is also not instant I believe there is actually a delay for casting this skill because sometimes when im in front of an enemy champion and I use Condemn they get pushed forward, so to counter this I run farther up than normal then use the skill. The damage was terrible before the nerf and not its even more worse. So for me I dont use it for the damage. Keep in mind this skill also counts toward consecutive attacks.

*****
5/5 Stars!!! This skill is awesome. It multiples 's ability by 3! It gives you stealth during tumble and it gives you more attack damage! This skill helps chase enemy champions down. I sometimes however mistake it for more movement speed and I activate it while running away hahaha but then I use and turn the tables by auto attacking and using the Run and Gun technique and Double Shot if i feel ballzy.

Items

Dorans Blade X2 : This item is a must early game. +100 Health. +10 Damage. +3% Life Steal. I learned from a fellow Vayne player that it is a good idea to get 2 because of the nerfs to Vayne. For me it depends on the game. If im getting hammered by ranged attacks or spells I get 2 of them but if im getting many minion kills and im in a good surviving position then I only get one of them. A good rule of thumb is if you die or press "B" and you have enough to get another one, get it because your losing.

Berserker's Greaves : These are by far the better boots on Vayne. You need that bonus attack speed (25%). You dont need or because of , and . Get these after you get .

Trinity Force : The main item of any Vayne build!!! Damage, Attack Speed, Crit Chance, Movement Speed, Health, Mana, and a passive to SLOW down enemy units. As well as a bonus 150% of your base attack damage each time you cast a spell. Meaning every time you you will deal an extra 50% damage on top of 60% for 210% damage boost.

Madred's Bloodrazor : The second main item of any Vayne build!!!. This item is needed for the extra attack speed and its main ability (deal 4% of the units max health in magic damage) Combine this with and you got yourself a deadly DPS tank killer champion. After these 2 main items the next items you get depends on the gameplay.

and Stark's Fervor and Wit's End : These items are interchangeable. If you find yourself with low health after a team battle you may want to get but if you find yourself on top and you just want to deal more damage then is the better option. Nevertheless get at least one of them.

Banshee's Veil : If you notice you are being targeted all the time by spells because by this time of the game you should be owning and the whole team will be focusing on you, well then this item is a must. The extra magic resist stacks with and its passive spell block will help you during those team battles.

Other Items

Phantom Dancer : Alot of people tell me to get this item but I dont see that great use in it. Yeah it gives +55 Attack Speed, +30 Critical Strike and +15 Movement Speed but, I take instead of it for the magic resist and the damage. It looks awesome when every attack has at least 3 different hits. From and regular attack. If you arn't playing against spell casters then Phantom Dancer will be a better option. Although really late game when your farmed to the max you may want to drop your boots and pick this item up.

Black Cleaver : This item is really great. It gives more attack damage, armor penetration and attack speed! I haven't got this item in a while but I know with the stacked armor penetration from your runes will be a deadly combo.

Infinity Edge : +80 Attack Damage +25% Critical Strike UNIQUE Passive: Critical hits now deal 250% damage instead of 200%. This item to me is useless for Vayne. Vayne needs attack speed to trigger and this item has no attack speed what so ever. Yes it is a good item but it is not meant for Vayne.

Techniques

Since this build is based off of "The Art of Movement". I will say Vayne is the master of it. Vayne's tumble is one of the main skills you will be using. Use it to literally run circles around your opponents. While keeping in mind to use against champs that are near a wall. Use it while they are running away. Run in front of them with the help of and and condemn them into your team for the kill.

Run and Gun is another good technique. Since early to mid game Vayne's attack speed is terrible auto attacking and running for the duration of the "auto attack cooldown" gives you great positioning and easy minion kills. This also helps you evade "skill spells or shots" because the enemy will have to predict where you will move.
Doing this backwards also helps while running away from enemy champions. You do however stop to shoot for that mini second but you have a chance of 's SLOW to trigger
This skill of movement is vital into dodging spells, attacks and just confusing the hell out of the enemy.

Double Shot a cool trick I found out. To do this you first auto attack a unit but at the same time your attack is about come out press Q for and tumble toward or nearby the target and attack, it will land about .2 of a second after your first shot. This is because tumble gets rid of the "auto attack delay" Then attack again to activate . A very, very effective way of burst damaging. Once in a while you may get a very good double shot like the shots will be at the same time which is all about timing. Sometimes it may glitch and it will show you shooting then gliding and shooting again without the tumble animation.

You can do this a lot late game because of the ~1.5s cool down (with runes) of tumble it will be very easy to kill anyone. Combine that with the Run and Gun technique and you can chase them down without a delay. It makes it even EASIER when your slow kicks in. Dont forget about too! Sometimes I don't even use final hour because I already know I can kill them.
