Vayne is an amazing carry when played the right way. Even with her nerfs she received during the v184.108.40.206b patch, she is still very strong. One of the areas Vayne received a nerf to was her move speed. I all ready found it to be very slow so I decided to change my build up compared to others and bring you an entirely new and effective guide.
The world is not always as civilized as people might think. There are still those who would follow the blackest paths of magic and become corrupted by the darker powers that flow through Runeterra. Shauna Vayne knows this fact well. As a young privileged girl in the heart of Demacia's elite, her father tried to convince her of the constabulary's ever-vigilant eye. Young and naive, she truly believed that her world was one of perfect safety, until one night, when a twisted witch took interest in her father. The malevolent woman overcame her father's conciliar guard, then tortured her family before murdering them. The young Shauna escaped only by hiding herself and then fleeing once the hag had departed, plagued by the screams of her loved ones as she ran. A burning hatred was born in her that day, one that could never be denied.
Vayne was able to take care of herself using her father's money, and she began to train as soon as an instructor would have her as a student. By the time she was a fully grown woman, she had become a grim warrior. However, the fields of battle were not to be her home. Demacia needed a protector, one who hunted those lost to the darkness. Shauna used her family's contacts to become the first Night Hunter, and now her prowess is the stuff of legends. It is said that those who practice the black arts quake when they hear that the Night Hunter is on the prowl. Despite her crusade, Shauna has looked at the League of Legends in horror. There are champions who have clearly lost themselves to the blackest of magics, and who have been embraced within the League even though they should be put down for the safety of all. The time has come for the Night Hunter to execute her secret mission - to purge the League of Legends.
Not all shadows are to be feared. At least, if Vayne has her way.

-Short ranged attacks compared to other ranged AD carrys.
I normally start the game with this item because it helps with Vayne's low HP pool at the start of the game. It also help last hitting minions a bit easier because of the 10 AD. You won't really notice the 3% life steal but it's better than nothing.
The zeal is a really good first item to get when you go back because it gives everything she needs besides AD. Silver Bolts stacks on a champion much quicker when you have faster attack speed. 20% Attack Speed, 10% Critical Strike Chance, and 8% Movement Speed is very good early game and this helps your survivability because of the move speed.
I love these boots on Vayne because she has pretty slow move speed. I know her passive gives her move speed but that is only when you are walking towards an enemy champion. I like to have constant quick move speed and the ability to chase much easier than I would be able to with the Berserker's Greaves. Also they can be used with this guide if you like them. You can also get the Mercury's Treads if the enemy team has too much CC to handle.
This is one of my favorite early obtainable item in the game. It gives so much even though it doesn't seem like it. 25 Attack Damage. UNIQUE Passive: Reduces ability cooldowns by 10% and +15 Armor Penetration. The armor Pen will work very nicely to give you more damage and because this gives you 15 more AD, it will increase your damage more. Shorter cooldowns means a better chance a skill will be off CD when you need it.
After a tumble is used you can hit an enemy champion or hit a minion and do massive amounts of damage. The only reason why I don't get this item sooner is because it only makes your Tumble stronger rather then your character all around. At this point of the game you will be doing loads of damage
Now that you have a little attack speed, AD, armor pen, CDR, crit chance, and move speed, it is time to get more of what you need. The move speed is amazing alongside the attack speed. Champions will be very easy for you to kill and to chase down at this point. I normally don't like this item but with Vayne is just works so well!
This is in my opinion one of the best items in the game. This does so many things for such a cheap item. It's also very easy to build. I love the active attack speed and move speed this item offers. The time it gives you also increases if you are attacking something. Making this item beautiful for destroying towers. The cool down is only 1 minute so if you remember to use this active you will be using it a ton of times!
Upgrade your Sheen into this item and now your Tumble does a lot more damage. This also provides you with a little of everything including health and move speed which means better survivability. 25% chance on hit to slow your enemies by 35%. You have pretty fast attack speed so getting that 25% should be no problem at all.
I feel Vayne needs to be able to stay in fights longer without needing to go back all the time because of low health. This item solves that problem. Around this time in game you will be hitting for a good 700 or so damage which means you will heal for about 84.
After getting this item no one will stand in your way. 80 AD is a lot and it also gives you 25% crit chance. The unique passive is what really makes this item though. Your crits will now devastate your enemy doing 50% more damage than before. After getting this item you will almost have a 94% crit chance.
When you get this itme fully stacked it is the strongest AD item in the game besides Sword of the Occult. I get this item because it provides a lot of damage and a hell of a lot of life steal.
Free Slot Items
Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers. She gains 40 Movement Speed when moving towards an enemy champion.
Vayne tumbles, maneuvering to carefully place her next shot. She rolls toward the cursor and her next attack deals 55/60/65/70/75% bonus damage.
Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target will deal 30/40/50/60/70 additional damage plus 4/5/6/7/8% of the target's maximum health as bonus true damage. (Max damage vs. monsters is capped at 200)
Vayne draws a heavy crossbow from her back, and fires a huge bolt at her target, dealing 60/100/140/180/220(+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and knocking them back. If they collide with terrain, they are impaled, dealing 60/100/140/180/220(+0.5 per bonus attack damage) bonus damage and stunning them for 1.5 seconds.
Readying herself for an epic confrontation, Vayne gains 35/55/75 increased attack damage, 1.5 second stealth during Tumble, and quadruple the bonus movement speed from Night Hunter lasting 8/10/12 seconds.
The crit runes are for early game damage. When you crit and land a Tumble at the same time you do a lot of damage. It is increased a lot more when you have Sheen then Tumble and land a crit.
Armor pen reduces armor when attacking and every champion in the game has natural armor so it allows you to hit harder without having to buy any items to do so. It also makes Youmuu's Ghostblade even more effective.
The CDR is for Vayne's ultimate which is very useful and needs to be able to be used as much as possible.
NOTE: Other Runes may be used if you see fit but these runes help me out a lot and I prefer to use them over others.
Ghost is amazing on Vayne because you can use it to chase and too flee from battle. Early game you can use it to get back to your lane when needed. If you take Haste it's an even better summoner spell giving you an additional 8% faster move speed for 1.5 more seconds.
Cleanse is really good on Vayne because she is very squishy and will often be the target of enemy cc. If you get stunned in a team fight you will die. If you get snared in a team fight you will die. I think you get the idea. Just know when to use it and when to hold onto it. I prefer this over Exhaust.
This will allow you to 1v1 way easier and it can also be used to disable them carries in team fights. You can use this to either chase or run away if you wish. I see 95% of Vaynes taking this spell.
Flash can be used to get into the right position in team fights or in 1v1s in general. This is a pretty good summoner spell on Vayne because you can Tumble and if you are not in range to shoot you can flash to get into range. Only do that though if you know you will get a kill. NEVER waste Flash on something dumb. Remember you are squishy and Flash can sometimes be better than Ghost because you can flash over walls if needed.
