Choose Champion Build:
Spells:
Clarity
Heal
Ability Order
Phenomenal Evil Power (PASSIVE)
Veigar Passive Ability
I chose these runes, just for the extra early game Ability Power boost. Remind yourself that Veigar really needs Ability Power, otherwise you will fail. Other choices can be mana (regeneration) runes. But I prefer these.
I use this build for early game AP. When you can buy the Blasting Wand for the Void Staff, you can sell the Doran's Ring.
Sorcerer's Shoes are a MUST HAVE for an AP Range champion. These include: Veigar, Morgana, Fiddlesticks, Xerath, Lux, Ezreal? (not sure about that one) etc.
These shoes give +20% Magic Penentration. TWENTY WHOLE PERCENTS. That sure isn't bad. (Don't forget the movement speed it also gives)
After you have this item, immediately get Rabadon's Deathcap, this is the best AP item there is. You really have to buy this one first, so you can profit as much as possible from the +30% AP. This item also gives 140 AP, and that is really useful for Dark Matter, which
does damage +100% AP.
Then get Rylai's Crystal Scepter, I chose this item because Veigar is really vulnerable and needs health. This item also provides Ability Power. You can also get Archangel Staff firstm, for a mana boost, if you didn't take Clarity.
Then get the Archangel Staff or Rylai's Crystal Scepter, depending on what you chose last step.
Now get the Abyssal Mask, for more Ability Power, Magic Resistance and to get your enemy's Magic Resistance down.
At last, get the Void Staff, for extra Ability Power and more Magic Penentration.
This time I took other times, the Zhonya's Hourglass for some armor and the active, and a Deathfire Grasp, also for the active.
Q: Most Builds max Baleful Strike first, why don't you do this?
A: I prefer this, and wanted to be "out of the box". Maybe I will add that build later.
Q: Why are you upgrading Event Horizon on late levels?
A: I only use it so I am sure my Dark Matter hits target.
Q: Why don't you MAX Baleful Strike first?
A: I don't use it for the damage until late game, I just use it to farm so I get extra Ability Power.
This time focusing on baluful strike, you can harrass other champions earlier in the game, you don't have to stun, because it is an on-hit ability. I maxed Event Horizon before Dark Matter, so you can stun longer.
I picked Expanded Mind and Meditation for extra Mana, because Veigar experiences a lot of Mana issues until the Archangel Staff has been bought.
Then I chose Arcane Knowledge for Magic Penentration and Executioner for extra damage.
