Yeah, the fact is Veigar really isn't useful in ranked play, unless you are in a very low elo where everyone is ******ed. I usually laugh pretty hard whenever someone picks him to counter my mid, ESPECIALLY my Annie.

The problem I find with veigar is his stun is on such a long cooldown that a smart team can make him use it (tank or bruiser) and the carry can then just collapse onto veigar and crush him.

When trying to counter an annie, try swain or ahri or galio. They usually give me the most trouble. In all honesty don't play Veigar ranked ever. You want a hard AP counter to most mids? Buy Galio he is free this week.

Good guide. I tried it and got tired of bursting down enemy champs :D

I guess it is an ok build, but I focus more on the w and e. If mid, however, then q is great for minion farming. I do think though that an item like frozen heart shOuld be In there somewhere. I kinda disagree, but +1 :)

Awesome build, been doing very well in mid with Veigar using this. However the item build is a bit sub-optimal.

I have some suggestions for items:

• Only go boots if you expect to lane against a skillshot champion. If not, I'd get meki pendant so that you can continually last hit with your Q. Farming up your Q is extremely important with Veigar.
• I'd get Sorcerer's Shoes a lot earlier than that. The extra movement is extremely important during the end lane/mid-game phase. I usually get it right after getting Tear.
• Wait until after you get Rabadon's before getting Deathfire grasp. Deathfire is best in the late game, and the Rabadon's will help you more than the Deathfire grasp in the mid-game. The Kage's Pick and Fiendesh Codex are still great items though. Either do Pick -> Rabadon's -> Deathfire, or do Pick + Codex -> Rabadon's -> Deathfire. I usually just get the Pick then go for Rabadon's

Hey man, Good guide. I actually have been running this myself for the early build. However when you can't get blue or just if you're farming and such grab a blue pot. the CDR is useful for last hitting faster.

I do not know if this is an update or anything like that but my tear of the godess did not reset upon death and just continued giving me bonus MP.
